I went in today under the impression I was getting and exam, X-rays, and a cleaning. I got an exam and X-rays done and an Invisalign consultation. After the doctor came in she recommended a deep cleaning, fillings, and extraction. When the doctor left after she examined my teeth I thought the cleaning would begin but I was taken from room to an office to speak with the financial advisor. She broke down the finances of the treatment. Deep cleaning over 1000 with insurance my part would be 477. I was fine with the filling part and I didn't want the extraction which they also had a problem with. Doctors have told me before if it doesn't bother me it's okay to keep them in. They just want another money grab. So I am being told these are recommendations and I let the financial advisor I don't want a deep cleaning could I please get a regular cleaning and she rudely told me NO and to go to another practice then. If there recommendations why were they trying to force me to accept the treatment and got mad cause I said I didn't want it. I've gotten regular cleanings every time I go to dentist appointment and no office has given me an issue and denied me treatment I've had other doctors recommend the deep cleaning by the way and they had no issue giving me a regular cleaning after I said no could I please get a regular cleaning. The fact that the financial advisor (Asian lady) told me to go to another practice that was so unprofessional!!! They are just trying to upsell treatments that are not needed and I know it's a business but there is always a middle ground where you can work with a customer I'm an assistant manager and I always work something out with a customer. But to be told I am being denied treatment cause you want a money grab is appalling and I have NEVER been told by any doctors office to go to another practice. They could have absolutely given me a regular cleaning but instead told me to go to another practice because they wanna bill my insurance for 1000 plus with fillings. Now they wasted my benefits from insurance and are billing my insurance for an exam and X-rays which I actually will need as I am going to be making an appointment at my previous dentist which I should of done in the first place. I was also a dental assistant before so I know how they try to sell. They honored my appointment which has never happened to me at any other dental office before. Dr. Goodale's office was it from the moment I first spoke to the receptionist Jessica. She was friendly, patient and easy to understand, which is really saying something these days. When I got the the office and sat down with D for my x-rays, she was very comforting and communicative, laying out everything I needed to do and checking in with me throughout to make sure I was good. Then Dr. Goodale came in with great energy and an obvious desire to 1. explain everything extremely clearly and patiently and 2. make sure I was at ease and comfortable. She did my cleaning personally and took my request seriously for caution around certain sensitive areas. She even asked if I was cool with the music they had playing. And then to top if off she gave me the best cleaning I've ever had - my teeth are prone to staining so they were looking pretty rough after a year gap between my last dentist visit. I had even been told by previous hygienists they couldn't do much about the stains. Dr. Goodale got them so white my wife was actually shocked because she had forgotten I had normal teeth. Really can't recommend this place enough I just with that all healthcare providers treated their customers with such grace and empathy, not to mentioned good old fashioned skill at their profession.
