Lake George "Playland Arcade" is the best arcade on Canada Street. The games are so cheap to play. Most games are $1 and some are $2 and even some are .50 cents. They have very fun games such as deal or no deal, basketball, virtual bowling, Mario kart driving & more!!! Very affordable and fun clean place to have fun. read more

This had always been my favorite of the LG village arcades (I remember when they numbered at least 3 or 4)--the copious skee-ball lanes were fun, and generous "tickets honored any season" (still true) was a nice perk for kids making the return visit here every year, as I did. Brought a nephew and some of his friends here this summer. In the span of 10 minutes we (a) had a basketball pop-a-shot competition where neither basket recorded our scores, (b) watched as every skee ball we threw registered as 0 or 10 points (and there were a few fifties in there!) and (c) two of us got shorted 1-2 quarters each in getting change. Finding anyone to help with anything was a challenge, so just gave up and accepted our minor losses. And yes, this is minor stuff--took the kids more for fun than anything. Fun was had, and I can certainly deal with losing a dollar. But whether intentional chicanery to claw back extra money and hand out fewer tickets, or just a sign of incredible disrepair and lack of attention and care, it was not encouraging, especially with other options available nearby. read more

Hubby and I usually come inside this arcade to play the old school shooting target game for $1 in quarters. As far as playing anything further than this, we can't say that anything really ever grabs our attention. This location is great for kids for tickets, but some of the prizes are really junky and outdated. The games are mostly geared for ease of children of all ages, but you can be rest assured, that the vast majority are family friendly. No vacation to Lake George is ever complete without visiting here! read more

By FAR the worst of the three main arcades on Canada St. Extremely dated throughout, with a large number of broken/malfunctioning games. While arcades breaking down are an inevitability, it's the employees dismissiveness towards patrons that isn't acceptable. In 20 minutes, we stumbled across a ski-ball machine that only had 8 balls AND wasn't counting any balls in the 20 or 30 rings, a toddler ride that ate quarters and wouldn't start, a mini-bowling game that wouldn't return the ball and a motorcycle game with a broken throttle. Each time some teenager would roll his eyes and hand us back a few quarters or point us towards the older gentleman (presumably the owner) who was running around opening up and working on machines all throughout the place. I don't think I'll be back, there are two much better options less than two blocks away. read more

Looking for an old-fashioned good time? This is it! With skee-ball, a shooting gallery, and that whack-a-gator game, it has something for everyone. The ticket-yielding machines aren't stingy, and the prizes are for everyone, even down just five tickets (or maybe less)! We've been there as a family recently with our five year old, and just as a couple, and both times we've had an excellent time. The air hockey tables are in good condition, as are the shooting gallery rifles. The basketball game is frustrating as always (and as expected) with mostly deflated balls. The staff is receptive and friendly if you have an issue with a machine or with the tickets. I look forward to coming back here again! read more

staff is rude. machines malfunction ans loose quarters and staff act like they are doing you a favor giving you back a quarter or two. if you are going to charge a dollar for a 5 second game and give 5 cents on the dollar in prizes, at least dont steal from kids and becrude. dont go. dont go. go to a place that at least they are nice. read more

Okay, so I mean basically an arcade is an arcade but here are this ones ridiculous downfalls: 1. the quarter machine gave us back 75 cents for a dollar. Although it had been working perfectly before (we just shrugged that off... until...) 2. We tried to play skee ball but not just one but BOTH of the ones we tried to play didn't have all 9 balls. I got 8 and his got 4. umm...how does that even happen? 3. for 15 tickets I could have gotten a COMB or a plastic flip flop. Who uses combs? really? I'd enjoy an eraser or something. 4. The air hockey isn't on a timer, its just best of 5. LAME. Would not be returning here. I mean I guess if you don't care about skee ball, exact change, and have a lot of tickets maybe it wouldn't be bad. But no thanks. read more

Concur with previous reviews. This is the worst out of the three arcades in the area. It's really worn and grimy and a lot of the games are broken. Skeeball machine had several lanes missing balls. We asked once since there a staff member right there and he said - did one of your balls go into another lane half accusingly and begrudgingly got another ball. Some of the games are overpriced vs other arcades. While there are a few games that they didn't seem to have at other arcades that were especially geared towards younger kids, ie the "whack a mole" type games they weren't working properly anyway. The gators didn't register when being hit or were not coming out fully but registering as being hit anyway. The whackers were sticky and duck taped all over and the moles/dogs plastic were cracked and split. For the normal arcade games Funarama across from the visitor center and next to he carousel and bumper cars and boats was much better. Less crowded. More working games and helpful staff when there are problems. I think it's less busy since it is a bit hidden behind a pizza place and the rides; there isn't a big store front like the other two arcades (playland and funworld) but they have arcade signs you can see with a narrow entryway with games that opens up to the main arcade within. read more

Staff didn't seem that bad as the other reviewers mentioned. A couple of times when a game we were playing malfunctioned the staff was helpful in refunding our quarters. The machines themselves malfunctioned a lot and the skee ball often didn't drop the proper amount of balls. I thought the games were a bit pricey compared to the other two arcades in the area but the place was brightly lit. This one is usuallyppp more crowded then the other two. What a joke these folks attract 100s of kids and their families a day and they don't have a restroom for any visitors, they do have one which says believe it or not "not for public use" everyone then has to go outside a look for one and that's not fun in Lake George this business and the village of Lake George should be ashamed of themselves. Anyone with or who has had little children know very well that they forget to go when there is something exciting to do like play at the arcade then all of a sudden they have to go. read more
