To start, pricey! Online menu lacking. Upon pick up, store smelled like old grease. Got s&s chicken, breading was discolored, sauce had a perfume taste to it, chicken pieces were huge and seemed off. The food was pretty good i had orange chicken and fried rice. The rice could have been more flavorful. The chicken could be a little crispier but overall I would go again. The service was amazing the person working there was very nice. I ordered takeout so I couldn't get a sit down meal but from the inside it was okay maybe a tad bit of cleanup needed to happen but I do recommend going for takeout. read more

My girlfriend was kind enough to offer to pick up takeout from Leong's for a belated Chinese New Years dinner. It was awful. We had the dinner for 4. The wonton soup broth was basically yellow water, with no chicken taste. The egg rolls were nice and crisp, but the filling had zero taste, like they forgot to season the mixed veggies within. The shrimp in lobster sauce smelled so fishy that only my dad, who likes stinky seafood ate 1 shrimp. Even one of the feral cats rejected it. The king pow beef was too soupy, the almond chicken was fried okay without being dried out, but the sauce was flavorless and had too much cornstarch in it. The sweet and sour pork was acceptable. Save your money and drive by or at least go to Panda Express for some zip, unless you are looking for a retro 1960's Chinese experience. No happy ending at Leong's read more

This imo is the best Chinese Restaurant in our area. We used to live about 8 miles away. Now over 20 and we still will drive that far to eat Leong's food. It's always good. Unfortunately it's only available as takeout since Covid. But still worth the drive. The Almond boneless chicken and sweet and sour chicken is our favorites as well as the tasty egg rolls. This is the best Chinese restaurant within 20 miles! We used to live near Richmond and have been eating at Leong's since 1990! We now live near Algonac and always drive to Richmond for great Chinese food at Leong's. Anybody who says otherwise has no taste and certainly doesn't know good Chinese food. It's old and rundown and definitely in need of a remodel. Certainly not eye-friendly inside or outside. Definitely needs major updates inside, outside and needs a website and an updated menu. I've lived in the Richmond area basically my entire life and it seems to be identical now as it was in the early 1980's (including the carpet and paneling). That being said, the food is tasty for what it is. It's a good choice if you're looking for a quick takeout. read more

I can't say much about their restaurant experience, but I've gotten takeout from Leong's a handful of times and I've never had a bad experience. It's a Chinese food restaurant - not a 5 star gourmet dinner establishment. The prices are good, the amount of food you get is good, and the food is great. The location is perfect as well - I live in Richmond and there aren't a ton of options for takeout. Even on busy nights, the wait for takeout isn't long. I agree with one of the other posters the fried rice is awesome, and I'll keep going back as long as they keep up what they're doing. read more

On first entrance, the place smells like rancid grease. My dinner of sesame chicken dinner and rice was just that, and the rice had a stale smell to it. No vegetables, nothing but chicken. We stopped going here 8 years ago because of the bad oil they used in their fryers. It tasted like they never changed it. Today we decided to give them another chance and we were pleasantly surprised. We got the dinner for 3 which came with steak kow, sweet and sour chicken, almond boneless chicken, wonton soup, and egg rolls. We also got the crab Rangoon. Everything was terrific. The chicken was moist, the egg rolls were crisp, and the crab Rangoon was delicious. We will definitely be getting our Chinese food locally again. Thanks Leongs!! read more

I just moved to Richmond and I usually go to Leong's at 21 and Gratiot but and I wasn't sure about ordering here bc if the reviews and that's also why I'm posting so other don't get mislead just bc of one or two people who may have had a bad experience. However, as a Chinese food lover the food here is pretty decent I ordered a sweet and sour combo. Rice is very good tastes the same as the #1 Leong's in Chesterfield, egg rolls also great and so was the chicken the portion sizes are smaller but that's okay bc there's always so much left over as it is very filling wait time was standard, friendly staff. All in All It's good enough where as It satisfied my Chinese food takeout craving without having to drive to far from home. :) read more

We ordered 8 different dishes and none could be classified as good tasting. We may be spoiled by the excellent food in Reno. It's just different that's why some of the reviews are bad. They put their own spin on Chinese food. It's not like the cookie cutter Chinese places you see everywhere. Some people love it, others do not. Definitely worth a try however. read more

I have ordered a couple of times from here, so I can only say from the times I have gotten carry out the food has been excellent. I worked in a Chinese restaurant for many years and have eaten at too many to count, so for me to say it's excellent, it is. There are many different styles of cooking and theirs is what I'm used to and it's perfectly seasoned each time. I am also happy to see that they are opened more often than the one I used to go to in Marine City, very disappointing to call and the restaurant is always closed.
