They make it clear that they don't want your business. Called to Ask if a cab could pick me up in Freehold (business's location) in an hour and fifteen minutes. Was told to call back 20 minutes before I needed to be picked up because Leon's doesn't do reservations. Called 20 minutes before I needed to be picked up. Cab took an hour and 20 minutes to get here. Mind you, the town is not that big. read more

Sad to say that I actually have to give a star in my review. Service was deplorable. Had an event in NYC, traveling from NewJersey. The vehicle we were given was not as promised in the contract. One of our passengers had to fasten the back seat so t wouldn't move back and forth... Seriously? Shocks were shot, and pretty sure this vehicle was not maintained in any way to make it safe. I had a very stressful vacation that I booked last minute due to a family matter. I called Leon's for a taxi to the airport. The person on the phone was very friendly and attentive. Right after I booked, I received a confirmation email that everything was set. On the morning of, I was still feeling stressed, but my taxi was right on time! The driver put my luggage in the trunk for me, and he was very nice as well. We made it to the airport with time to spare, so I was able to sit down and relax before my flight. Leon's made my vacation so much less stressful! I would recommend them to ANYONE! read more

We used Leon's Taxi for my daughters wedding. We had 40 rooms booked at the hotel with all 80 guest being shuttled to & from the venue. We had 2 vans and a Expedition to transfer the bride & groom, the wedding party & all the guest. The 3 drivers were courteous, attentive and made sure no one was left behind. They made continuous trips back and forth until all our guest were safely delivered to the destinations. They were also available for the whole 6 hours in case any of our guest had to return to the hotel (in which several did). The cost for this excellent service was extremely reasonable. I will hire Leon's Taxi for all my transportation needs in the future. If you are looking for a fantastic car service with excellent drivers I would highly recommend Leon's Taxi. read more

My Mom needed a ride to an appt. and KB Taxi was busy, which is the usual taxi company that we use. KB told her to go with Leon's Taxi. Dispatcher told my Mom that the taxi would be at the house at 1:00, for an appt. at 1:30 p.m. which was fine. One o'clock rolls around and still no taxi. 1:26, and still no taxi. Two phone calls to the company and the taxi finally arrives at 1:34, meaning that my Mom is late for her appt. Dispatcher told us that the driver was on a specific road, and that the driver was by the high school...They're a family business, which is cool, however, I would have been happy had my Mom chosen Patsy's Taxi or another taxi company...and $150 quoted for a trip to Freehold and Somerset is not cheap, though I believe that taxi companies charge by the mile...I will be glad to know when she's back home, via taxi, safe and sound. UPDATE: My Mom enjoyed the service. Taxi driver charged her $120 for the full ride, so I'm bumping my rating up to two stars. I'm glad that she was both safe and comfortable. read more

Used to think so highly of the company and my last few experiences have been an absolute nightmare. Rob Jr and Senior are wonderful gentlemen but the service is dreadful. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very polite and professional. Prices are a lil higher then uber($15)difference(who I normally use) but my problem is timing. I called the night before to schedule a pick up at 5:15 p.m. the driver did not show up until 5:30. It would have been nice to have the person contact you to let you know the drive is running late b/c if I had to be somewhere important I would have been late. The ride was a bit expensive but even with that, I would have given them five if I didn't feel like the driver was gonna kill my friend and I. The driver drove really well and was friendly in the beginning but the ride turned sour as he got to our destination. He flipped out on us while cursing and throwing pens, papers and his GPS around (cursing it out, telling it to "shut the fuck up" cuz it was giving him directions O.o...). He was also yelling about how he didn't know how to exit where he brought us (because screw having a GPS, right?) and that we didn't tell him where we were going...which was a huge lie...we HAD to give him a destination for him to bring us where we wanted to go. I told the dispatcher the name and address of where I was headed and I told the driver the name of my destination and street address at least twice. He went on yelling "I can't wait to get rid of the two of you. You two are upsetting me. I don't know how to get out of here. I shouldn't be here, I don't belong here." The first thought that came to my head when he said that was "are you a terrorist? Is there a warrant for your arrest? Why can't you be here?" Despite him saying that, once we got to where we needed, the driver wouldn't let us out of his car until we tell him how to exit. While giving him directions, he began driving again and asked "how are you getting back to your place? I'm about to just drop you off at the street corner and have you walk back."...it's already 10 at night and where he was is a 45 mins walk from where we need to be. I don't know what provoked his actions since I didn't say or do anything that would make him angry and my friend was asleep the whole ride. I called the cab company the next day and explained what happened and the dispatcher who picked up my call was shocked at the driver's behavior and told me that the company do not condone that type of behavior he would have the driver call to personally apologize and that if I rode with the company again that he would give me a 10% discount (I really appreciate the gesture) but that apology never came. read more

The driver was nice and helpful, he informed me that if I paid by CC there would be an extra $5.00 charge (that the dispatcher did not tell me about) so I got cash instead. The car was the worst thing I have ever ridden in; broken doors, slashed seats and falling-down ceiling. Beware of the hidden charge if you use a credit card. read more

My family has used Leon's occasionally over the past 15 years and their service has gone to the dumps. When I requested a pick-up at a *specific* time and told the operator that I would be trying to catch a train, I was confident I had made it fairly clear the importance of a timely pick-up. So, when no driver showed up at the scheduled time, I called Leon's to figure out what the problem was. Apparently, they were having "issues", but would send someone out to me "right now". I asked how long that would take, and they inform me: "15 minutes". So I cancel the taxi and have now missed my train and am now guaranteed to arrive late to an important meeting in NYC. The worst part about this situation: when I called to see where the driver was, the operator tells me, "Oh, yeah. We were just talking about your pick-up. We don't think you left enough time for the driver to get you to the station on time." 1. You hadn't even yet dispatched a driver to me at the scheduled pick-up time and you're going to lecture me? Really?? 2. If you remember a reservation well-enough to talk about it amongst yourselves, then CALL YOUR CUSTOMER to let them know you're having problems so that they can scramble to make alternate arrangements. 3. I shouldn't even have to justify myself, but I do this route each and every workday and it takes 11-13 minutes. Google Maps confirms that it takes just 13 minutes absent traffic. To be safe (because we all know how bad local traffic is on Sundays at 8:00 AM...not), that is why I scheduled my pick-up 25 (I repeat: 25) minutes in advance of the train departure to give myself and the driver some room for error. Unbelievably terrible service. Will never use them again. read more

Please do not book with this company!! We were promised a specific can for a special event in NYC on Saturday,October 15, 2016. We had a contract clearly stating what we were purchasing! They sent us a "jalopy" that was a liability. Broken seat belts, malfunctioning seating, a broken door and no shocks . We called the owner and demanded that he honor the contract. A JOKE... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME... Will never ever ever call them again... Called the night before to schedule a trip to Amtrak station in Edison which is 20 minutes from me, so I asked for a car 1:15 minutes before my train just to be safe, and pointed out i would be using a credit card. Driver shows up 35 mins late.. Called the dispatch to check status 3 times.. I got the same canned response "driver will be right there" Driver shows up, I tell him I'm running late now for a train.. Yet he sits in my driveway to start punching directions in his gps.. He was searching for METROPARK as a city. I replied rather calmly "don't worry, I will direct you"..Off we go driving 10 miles slower than the speed limit in the left lane.. I tell him I'm using a credit card and he said "oh that's going to take 15 mins to process on my phone" I will need to pull over.. So in an effort to save time I run into 7/11 to grab cash. Needless to say I missed my train....I have removed their number from my phone.. I would rather walk than call them.....again, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.. Call another service.... read more

WARNING THIS TAXI COMPANY IS A RIP OFF!!! FIRST let me start by saying the service from the beginning was horrible. The atittude over the phone was off-putting. We had called the service from the bus to have a taxi waiting for us at our intended stop. We were then told, with a horendous attitude, that if we were not there in ten minutes that the taxi would CHARGE us a waiting fee! Even with this outrageously off-putting demeanor, we continued with the service. We arrived at our stop promptly at 1:10 am to an empty parking lot in front of a bank, even though we had called in advance. We continued to wait in 34 degree weather and an empty parking lot for 28 minutes. He finally showed up at 1:38 am. We were then informed via his radio system (yes the taxi driver couldn't speak to us about cab fair) that to drive us a total of 2 MILES we would have to pay $20. Outraged by this price, we asked the reason for the sky high cost, his answer being that the company charged us the price of gas to come pick us up (actually given the the distance from where the company is located they charged us DOUBLE the price of gas). We then called the service headquarters to speak to someone about this price. When we finally reached a representative and stated our case they hung up in our ear with no conversation, and announced over the radio with disdain to only charge us $17. Yes they reduced the price a total of $3. Over all the service was horrible!! I would NOT recommend this taxi service! read more

Timely arrival and clean service can be a definite value for any cab service. However, first I usually look for reasonable price (not lowest - just reasonable). I found this company very expensive. I called 4 companies in single evening for a price for ride to the airport, and Leon's Taxi came as ABSOLUTELY most expensive. I verified with them that they did not think I was ordering stretch limo or luxury package of some kind. They were planning to charge me the most amount among all companies for basic taxi service to Newark airport. I saw other reviews and think those were written much earlier when prices did not go up yet. As of now I am not considering Leon's when looking for taxi. I did not give it less then 2 stars because I could not check if car was smelly or driver rude. I only rated for price, which for me is either go or "no go" starting decision factor. read more

I had called another service first and I trouble explaining to the person on the phone where I lived due to the dispatcher not speaking English. So when Leon's answered the phone, I explained that I was happy to the dispatcher that he spoke English. He told me what time he would come and I said okay. When the time passed I called and they kept saying it's a few minutes away any minute now a few minutes away. Even at one time giving me a street that the driver was on that was less than a half a mile from my home. After about an hour and a half as a Vegas native time I called another service who came in 5 minutes. Leon had the audacity to write me explaining I wouldn't lie to driver because he was bilingual which I never said. While I continue this away and tell me you're on your way a few minutes away a few minutes away especially so I just got out of the hospital and was waiting for an hour and a half. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! I scheduled these people to come to my home to take us to dinner. I made sure the car was nice and clean. We were all dressed nicely. About 15 min before we were suppose to go a utility truck drove up my drive way, I though it was someone that was scheduled to do some work, it was my car! Filthy doesn't even describe it properly. It was like he couldn't be bothered. Which I find funny because the car that showed up looked like it was driven through world war III. I read some of the negative reviews, so I called two other services first and got an answering machine and left messages. I reluctantly called Leon's Taxi Service.. (I broke my ankle and needed a ride to the bank.) The cab arrived in 10 minutes. George, the driver, was very personable. He waited patiently while I spoke to the bank officer for several minutes. He drove me home afterward without a hitch. Neither of the other companies even called me back! Leon's did the job. I wasn't looking for a fancy service. I need a ride promptly, they charged me what they said they would charge, and they picked me up, waited, and dropped me off. No problem! Tomorrow I need another ride and I will definitely call them. read more

However, I needed transportation to a concert at pnc, not only was the office courteous and seemingly grateful for me booking this but the driver went above and beyond when he couldn't find my daughter and her friends. At first i was hesitant trusting them with my under 18 year old daughter, but they treat you like family and would recommend them to anyone! read more

I would give no stars, but that's not an option. I called Leon's after work and spoke to Robert jr, The owners son. I only had to go about 8 minutes from where I was, I asked the dispatcher how long and he said 5 minutes. I waited about 40 minutes outside of work for a ride to the grocery store. When I told the driver that I'm taking a dollar off for the ride, he agreed I should and I called the owners son (dispatcher) to let him know. I wish I would have waited till I was by the grocery store before I called, because he walkie talkied the driver and told him to have me vacate the car. That's okay, they will soon be out of business, between lyft and uber, the drivers always say business is bad. I will be the first person at the business, when you guys have to clear out the building. The driver even said you idiots don't know how to run a business. Don't use this service, you will be waiting so long....this is not my first experience with them, but it is my last. Good riddance. read more

If I could give less than one star I would!!! The owners of this company, Robert and Robert Jr., should be ashamed and embarrassed for breeching a contract and sending a dangerous vehicle to transport my party to NYC. The party of 8 had signed up for a white 2013 Chevy van that seated 15....what arrived in the driveway to pick us up was an old, very worn in passenger van with 3 rows of seats. Some may say what's the big deal? Well I'll tell you...the back row seat was not secured and bolted down correctly and the driver did not know how to fix it. We tried reinstalling it correctly, however although it was better, it was not secure and the back seat rocked back and forth throughout the ride. Did I mention as we rocked, we also felt every bump and impediment in the road? Again some may say "We were ok because we were buckled in"...NOT true. The seat belts were also not working correctly. We tried calling the office stating the van was not the one we signed up for and we wanted a replacement but were told there was not one available. Taking our lives in the drivers hand and trying to "keep cool" (AC wasn't working correctly either), we had to get to the city - we had tickets to a show! Upon our arrival home (thank goodness we made it safely) the driver wanted us to sign the paper with the original cost - THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. An adjustment was made to our bill HOWEVER, I am warning you all you'll be much better off with a different limo service....the one star, the driver was on time and we got home! read more
