Ice Cream Sandwich (5/5): Delicious ice cream with soft cookies on either side. It's nice that you can pick whatever flavor ice cream you want. The portion size was huge too! Ice Cream (5/5): Thick and creamy ice cream. My favorite was the Cookies2. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Did the Groupon Savannah Tour and our driver made a stop for us to try this famous ice cream shop! Line was out the door and we waited approximately 30 minutes. Staff was super nice and allowed us to try a few samples. Got two scoops and they were ginormous.

Went here with some friends! The good. I think the customer service is very very friendly. Everyone was very polite. This is a very very crowded spot it is very tight quarters and feels borderline claustrophobic to me. It's very old school like I stepped into the 50s-60s ish. My lavender ice cream was okay it wasn't good it wasn't great. They do offer free samples im just not a fan of their ice cream and for an $8 price point it's just somewhere I'd probably skip.

Leopold's is always busy so they must be doing something right. They have been around for a million years so they must have learned something so that makes sense. They have unique flavors but nothing super crazy. Of course they have regular, traditional flavors too. Prices are pretty normal. I had the cookies flavor and it was good. Not over sweet so that is nice but if you like super sweet and sugary this isn't that.

Leopold's is probably on your list of "Places to Visit While in Savannah" and rightfully so. But don't be surprised if there is a line out the door or even possibly down the sidewalk and rounding the corner. Walking into Leopold's is like stepping back in time into an soda shop. Movie posters and the nostalgic uniforms seal the deal. They offer a great selection of classic favorites, local twists, and seasonal flavors behind the class counters. Sugar cones, waffle cones, milk shakes, sundaes, floats, splits, etc! My personal favorite is the Peanut Butter Chippy. Here's a hint from a local: You can always bypass the line and grab prepared pints from the cooler at checkout. If flying into Savannah, visit their location in the airport.

The world said Leopolds was a must stop so we did. Line moved pretty quickly but still waited about 15 minutes to get to the counter. We decided on the sundae with cookie dough (cookies2) and a chocolate milkshake. Everyone was so friendly, prices comparable to other popular ice cream spots, and ice cream was delicious but nothing out of the ordinary. Somewhat overhyped but still a good spot for ice cream.

We had seen the long lines and were hesitant to wait, but I now understand what the hype is about! It was really cool to travel back in time and experience the same flavors/items that people have been enjoying for over a hundred years. The line wasn't bad, it took about 20-25 minutes and the gentleman outside was awesome, making conversation and offering everyone cold water. I also loved seeing all the film memorabilia inside! We had the Rum Bisque, which had chewy almond macarons, the Chocolate Chewies and Cream, which was vanilla with chocolate pecan cookies, and the Lemon Custard, which had a nice hint of lemon. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. It's dense and rich but not overly sweet. It also doesn't make you feel gross after!

Stayed at a hotel walking distance from this ice cream shop and made sure to arrive a little early right when they opened at noon! There was still surprisingly a line shortly after they opened but they are really quick the wait wasn't long at all. I got my favorite ice cream, mint chocolate chip and it was really delicious. The portions were pretty large with big scoops and tons of flavor. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting or living in Savannah that wants some ice cream on a hot (or cold) day!

Decided to stop in on this 82 degree weather day while in Savannah! I'm glad we did! The line was wrapped outside but it dwindled pretty quickly! The staff were friendly, smiling and very helpful. They have unique flavors and we were able to sample flavors that we were curious about. Inside searing was a small packed area, we were able to grab seating outside. I chose the rum bisque ice cream and man o man...it was sooooooo good!!! It had large chunks of a rum soaked almond cookie. Yum yum yum While sitting outside, a server came out and offered ice cold water to those in line and sitting outside in the heat. Great customer service. If you're in the area, its a great stop for a hot day. Or another day foe that matter.

Solid choice for a cone! We stopped by after Oyster HH at Common, and it was the perfect treat for our walk back to the AB&B. Place was busy, but they know how to work people through the line. A double scoop cone was $9.20. I'm not a big ice cream person, but it seemed like the price was fair.

Really good ice cream. Long line but moved relatively quickly. Had a fountain soda. Plenty tables indoors. They sell some souvenirs. Typical ice cream experience.

    Savannah Socialite

Strolling through Savannah on a warm evening, we found ourselves at Leopold's Ice Cream and stopped in for an after-dinner snack. I got the Savannah Socialite: milk and dark chocolate ice creams with roasted Georgia Pecans and swirled with homemade bourbon-infused caramel. The ice cream overflowed the cup and we sat and admired all the hollywood history on the walls. I love places like Leopold's that have lots of local history! And the ice cream is fantastic, too! If you haven't tried Leopold's yet, you're missing out!

Ask the Community - Leopold's Ice Cream

    Is it truly worth it?

Locals may disagree but as a visitor I'd say yes. It's solid, homemade ice cream, and an interesting experience plus the line is usually not that long. If you don't wanna wait online, they have one in the airport that never has more than one or two… Read more

Do they have peach ice cream?

They do carry peach. However, check their website and check to see if it's on their menu as peach season is about a month away. They may make it seasonally.

Are their ice creams gluten free?

Almost all of them, yes! I have celiac and the employees were all super knowledgeable about the ingredients and they have a full allergy protocol!

Do they offer ice cream samples like many gelato places do?

    Yes, they do give samples.

    Best time to go?

Right when it opens or just before close! Otherwise there will surely be a line but it does move pretty fast!

Do they have vegan ice cream?

Just Vegan Vanilla- made with coconut cream!
