My 2012 Honda Civic needing new brake pads & rotors due to grinding & clanking noise. Called them yesterday around noon and brought my car in for service. Waited for the parts that were ordered which came in. Did not mind the wait inside their lounge. Very pleased & satisfied. No more grinding & clanking car noise. Sean was on top of things. I didn't personally have an experience, but my son recently did with Leo's that warmed my heart. My son who is also a mechanic was on his way to an appointment in Livonia from Jackson. He was just about to his destination when he blew his brake lines on his truck. Thankfully, Leo's was the first place in sight he was able to turn his truck safely into. Not only did they fix his brake lines, they also made sure my son made his appointment on time by personally driving him there while his truck was being fixed. I found LCAR via referral from my work's MATCO salesman. LCAR owner, Leo is very knowledgeable, certified auto mechanic. His son does the heavy engine work and several other mechanics are on staff to do other repairs and maintenance. Front desk, James communicates the status of repairs and never gave me a hard time if I kept calling and asking for updates. I have had some major work done at LCAR, never once was I overcharged for anything, Leo and I would discuss what is wrong and we would decide what my options were prior to work just being done without me being aware. I did have to bring back a vehicle that was covered under their warranty and I could have paid nothing, I choose to let them do an oil change and I tipped because it is hard to find honesty in the auto repair industry. UPDATE: 06/03/2016: I continue to bring my vehicles in for service and repairs to LCAR, they are the one and only shop for me with my aging fleet including 2 Jeep Wranglers that are 16 years old and an 11 year old Charger, to keep these old vehicles running, I have nothing but confidence in Leo and his shop. read more

Leo's (also known as LCAR) Complete Auto Repair on 8 Mile Road in Livonia. I had the worst experience of my life while dealing with them. I went in on Saturday to have my car diagnosed for an oil leak and to verify that I needed a new starter. When they showed me the diagnostic fee of $130 (for 1 1/2 hr ), I was surprised so I asked him to just check the oil leak. He changed the fee to $85. After 20 mins of work, they came back and gave me an estimate for the oil leak and a separate estimate for the starter..(in 20 mins they were able to do a diagnostice for both issues. I'm glad I didn't pay the $130) When the guy behind the desk realized that it only took 20 mins, he changed the diagnostic fee to $45. So I thanked them, paid the bill and said I'd be back. I called back on Monday to see if they had time to fix the starter (letting them know that I'd be back later to fix the leak) . They said yes, no problem. So i ran over there to give them the keys to the car (and paid them up front knowing that my son would be picking up the car.) I left and was on my way back to work, when Leo, the owner, called me. After about two seconds of him making sure he had the right person, he started yelling and screaming at me. He was downright livid. I was in shock, trying to figure out why he was so mad and more importantly, yelling at ME?? For literally the next `15 mins he continued to yell at me. Some where in between his yelling, I finally realized that the reason he was mad, was because his employee at the desk had reduced my bill by the diagnostic fee of $45. I had a hard time understanding what was wrong with that because that's their policy. If you do the work with them then the diagnostic fee gets waived. I was very confused as to why he was so upset. but when someone is yelling at you its hard to figure out what the problem is. I guess the reason for the tantrum, was that I should have only rec'd the reduction of the $45 if I had done the oil leak work, not the starter. Since I was given an estimate for both issues I guess I didn't know that?? But either way, if that were the case why did his employees give me the reduced amount? And why wasn't he yelling at them instead of a CUSTOMER. After 15 mins of yelling, he had the nerve to ask me if I still wanted the work done at the higher price. At that point, of course I said absolutely not. I would not be doing any future business with him and hung up. FYI, I was a good customer that had previously done business with them to the tune of more than $800 AND had also referred three of my co-workers to him. What business man, or any self respecting person, would ever treat a customer like that??!? Needless to say, after seeing how upset I was when I returned to work, he not only lost my business but that of my co-workers as well. I have NEVER experienced something so incredibly bizarre in all my life. read more
