Car rides great now and I'm taking it back to do some other things that need to be done. So, in a nutshell, great service, quick and very reasonable cost - highly recommend. Don't waste your time…read more I came to the shop with 3 problems: -A sound from the right side of my car. I gave them instructions on how to reproduce it, just drive the car on the highway -My car needed a regular service -I wanted to reset a warning light on the dash. They wasted my time and I left with more problems. They told me they would get to it that day on site. Then called me and told me they would not be able to get to it till the next. They don't even inspect it till the afternoon of the next day, and want to keep the car for another day. The next day they told me they were not able to reproduce the sound. I go in and immediately reproduce the sound with a tech in the car on the highway. They say they will look at it. I leave. I come back and they tell me they "aren't a shop specialized in fixing that problem" go to a different shop. Fine, I appreciate the honesty. They give me my car back. I turn on the car. Sound still there, Car regular service timer not reset - Such a simple thing, if they're cutting corners here what else are they cutting corners on? Warning light not reset. I go back in , ask them to reset both warnings. They come back, warning light needs a physical part and they need another part that they want to charge me for ~20 dollars, and for me to wait another few hours. They did reset the service timer. At this point they've wasted enough of my time. I leave, paying few hundred dollars for the service and them having wasted 3 days of my time. I go to a different shop. The fix is so simple they fix it for free in 20 minutes. Also they spam you with advertising texts despite never asking. In summary: They didn't fix any of my original problems, needed me to micromanage them to follow basic instructions to diagnose, are slow and incompetent.

The battery had died…read morewhile it sat in their lot over the weekend, they jump started the battery to get it in the garage and then they said they would not look at the air conditioner unless I replaced the battery at a cost of $500. Absolutely ridiculous pricing. It takes 15min or less to remove the battery. A new battery at auto store is $150-200. I said no thanks I will pick the car up and take it elsewhere . They then charged me $170 for their "inspection". I jump started the car to get home, took the battery out (took 10 min), took the battery to the local auto store where it was tested and the battery was still good. So here I'm out $170 for absolutely nothing and the air conditioner still does not work. I do not understand why they wouldnt just charge the battery and fix the A/C. And $500 to swap out a battery is absurd. Will never go back and dont recommend .

But as it turns out the work performed really improved the performance of my car. The one struct was replaced and now my car sits up much higher than before. Also, the brakes were done and now I can stop on a dime. My only complaint and it's not really a complaint but I would like for someone from the shop to give the customer a daily status update. I walked in, there was a couple guys watching out the big window. No call to us about the accident, no apology. I was upset and asked who was paying for the damages since they put it on the road and wasnt paying a repair if i couldn't drive my car. They said they weren't responsible, it's on the public road and someone had to pay the bill. I left and left the car. My insurance can handle it. This place doesn't put its customers first. I sent an email to John's Auto Center over the weekend and was not expecting a response until the…read morefollowing Monday. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a response within an hour. They were able to get my car looked at right away. Simon was so helpful and looked at my car the second I pulled in. He said that the condition of my car was great and that it seemed to be running smoothly. However, he agreed to put it up on the lift to do a general wellness check of the undercarriage of my car. After inspecting it (again, right away) he took me under the car to show me- he said that everything looked to be in great condition. The only thing he did point out was that my tires were needing to be replaced in the near future- and took the time to show me how to check the tire tread. He offered to give me a quote, although I felt no pressure from him to purchase the tires through him/at their shop. I really appreciated that Simon did not try to sell me some part that I didn't need, or to tell me that something should be fixed on my vehicle when everything looked great. Simon had such a genuine way about him, and I could tell that he was very honest and that I could trust him- which is huge! After asking him to look at the cabin filter, it DID need to be replaced- they didn't have one in stock- so Simon ran to the store and was back to replace it within 5 minutes! I was so pleasantly surprised. I was shocked when the general wellness check on my vehicle only cost $50! and he didn't even charge me for the cabin filter... If I had taken my vehicle to GMC, I for sure would have had to wait a week or two for an appointment, then they would certainly keep my vehicle for several days- and a wellness check would definitely cost upwards to $200. Needless to say- I will be doing ALL of my future motor / car needs to John's Auto Center!
