Not only did Leo amazingly fix those repairs but a couple of others we talked about together. And I could swear we never talked about he just found and fixed. My jacket is back in great condition. I had a little hole on the sleeve, where a fence or something have snagged me, the string to one of the pockets was broken and the zipper inlay, we're a little loose due to previously being fixed somewhere else a long time ago. I couldn't be happier Leo fixed the jacket up great . Leo is the best. I have been back to Leo with some other leather good, belts and a satchel. I got some leather conditioner from him and learned a little bit about taking care of my leather goods. I was about to give up in despair after the 2nd time my husband's brand new fancy leather coat arrived with buttons falling off. I didn't want to try to repair it myself - I know nothing about sewing leather, or, to be honest, even how to fix a button. I stopped by Leo's and he fixed the buttons quickly and easily for $7 - although he did insist that I could do it myself for free if I wanted - now THAT is service, even though I was glad to pay someone else to do a better job. My friend also dropped off his leather coat that had some pretty bad looking rips on the shoulder. This was fixed up within a week, glued down and barely noticeable, when before we thought it would need to be replaced to the tune of several hundred dollars - instead, Leo set him right for $15! I'm sure this tailor is amazing -I'm certain of that due to the amount of 5-star ratings. However.. 4/3 - called Leo for time estimate to replace lining for a 4-5 year old All Saints Leather motorcycle jacket, which I love. Leo (or the gentlemen tailor) quotes "one week" to replace. 4/4 - I dropped off my jacket and Leo says "2 weeks, pick up April 20th". Wow! That's quite different from our phone call the day before. But ok, I agreed. 4/25 - arrived to collect my jacket and the tailor said "no, not ready, come back in a week, I'll call you." Ohhhh hell nah! I refused and said I would return in 2 days and required my jacket for a trip to Europe. Super annoyed as I live 30 mins away from Leo's Leather. 4/28- returned to Leo's (again) to retrieve my jacket. Arm and back lining changed but one of the main pocket's linings had about a million holes and Leo said "you no ask for pocket lining replacement, that is extra"....and he never checked the entire jacket apparently (blank stare) $80 bucks and 3 1/2 weeks later and I still need someone to repair the entire lining of my jacket..oy!!! read more

A friend of mine who used to live in the area suggested that I stop in here to find a leather motorcycle jacket. She was correct he does have many jackets that can be considered a motorcycle jacket. For instance for many it's a style and many rider's wear a regular leather. However, if you're looking for true gear, something with elbow/shoulder covering or a back shield you'll need to go to a shop that carries motorcycle gear, as he only had a couple of jackets. I have had a leather jacket for a number of years that is nicely weathered and looks like it has been around fo a while. Problem was the lining was quite ripped as well as the pocket. I took it to Leo's and he created a new lining and new pockets.He used a nice, sturdy quilted lining and pocket material that will be long lasting. Not only did he do a great job, but the little touches were appreciated. For example he took the brand tag off of the old lining and stitched it into the new. The cost was very reasonable as well, in particular as compared with what a new leather jacket would have coapst. i could not rate the work more highly. read more

Like so many others, I have to give Leo's a great review. My new moto jacket had a complicated seam rip under the arm. He patched it from inside (behind the lining) as there was no longer any overlapping leather to stitch together. Beautiful work - you'd never know the jacket had been repaired. I've been coming to Leo's for maybe twenty years. I've bought a couple leather jackets at excellent prices, I've gotten repairs on a jacket that was bought elsewhere. My son got his first "adult" leather jacket there, and it has only gotten better in the last five years. Leo himself is a total gentleman, and an honest man. Take advantage of this institution before it goes the way of all excellent things in the world. You will point to the storefront in fifty years and tell your grandchildren how good a store it was. UPDATE: I wrote this review before taking a jacket that had been bought at Leo's six years ago, was in near-perfect condition despite almost daily wear during Fall and Winter, but nonetheless the zipper sometimes stuck (considering it had been opened and closed several thousand times, that is part of normal expectations). His prices are very affordable and is work is perfection. I can not compliment his service enough, so if you have leather that needs work, alteration, patches, ect. But without being requested nor included in the estimate for the very fairly-priced lining replacement, he also repaired one of the cuffs that had been severely damaged with years of use, matching the leather very well and with expert craftsmanship...at no additional cost!!! I recently bought a really nice leather jacket and needed to get the sleeves shortened. I've never used a leather tailor before, so I was a little nervous trying to find one. Leo's custom leather is a little hole in the wall store, but it's full to the brim with leather products, and you can tell that he knows what he's doing. I originally thought the sleeves would be a little pricey to shorten (since there's a zipper going down the forearm), but it was way less than I was expecting to pay, and the quality was great. This place is a life saver! My wife bought a leather jacket in Florence and ended up with a little cut on the back side. I took it to a highly rated tailor in downtown and he told me that he doesn't specialize in leather and recommends taking it to a leather specialist but if I really wanted him to work on it, he'd do it for $30 and it'd take 2-3 weeks. I did a lot of research on a jacket I thought I wanted. I tried to find a place that might have it in stock to try it on. My research lead me to Leo's. I walked in to see a small place full of leather jacket's and a man that I immediately figured would try to rip me off. 3 minutes later he had repaired the zipper on my existing leather jacket for just a few dollars and offered me a great price on my jacket of choice. Before I bought the jacket I wanted prior to walking in to the store he even tried to show me a few other options than were of good quality but slightly less expensive.
