I came from out of town and I have to give a shout out to John for an incredible cut. I have curly hair with burst fade and he managed both beautifully. Actually used a straight razor to cut down the curls to help shape while keeping volume -- not a lot of people do that in my experience! Beard trim service with a line up using hot towel and moisturizer before using the blade made my skin feel nothing. 10/10, awesome. read more

This store admittedly has a good range of merchandise. Very unimpressed, however, with customer service tonight. The main problem was that the customer behind me was continuously harassing me, nearly standing on top of me and mocking me nonstop, which became worse as my transaction was taking a bit longer due to a range of items purchased. (Had he asked, I would have gladly let him go first to be rid of him). I purchased over $300 in items yet the person behind the counter seemed obsessed with charging me $.10 for a bag. I suppose this can mostly be blamed on dumb Woke Chicago laws, but it was annoying. Meanwhile I was not offered a printed receipt at all which made it hard to verify the transaction. Perhaps most annoyingly, however, I purchased a $200+ Market Days Circuit Mom ticket and the clerk just threw it in the bag next to a bottle of lube. Had I not grabbed the ticket right at that moment, it would be likely been twisted up and unusable. When I asked for an envelope for this $200+ ticket, the clerk looked at me like I was crazy and did not have one. This is not standard practice at all. (And meanwhile deranged patron behind me was mocking me and standing on top of me for the whole transaction). Very disappointed with the shoddy customer service and the lack of any consideration for patrons buying expensive tickets at the shop. If you can stock a range of dildos guaranteed to land you in a hospital, you can have envelopes for $200+ tickets. read more

Excellent selection, service, and high quality gear. I have had excellent experiences shopping at The Men's Room. Their staff is very knowledgeable and will help you find the perfect fit if you're looking for gear. They also have a wide selection of brands and products featuring high quality leather and craftsmanship. My very first harness of about 12 years ago is an original from the Mens Room and is still in great shape. I wore it when I went looking for a couple of harnesses for my buddies and one of the employees immediately identified it as an original Mens Room harness. Nick (mentioned above) was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable regarding fit as well as the different types of leather each brand utilizes. I have also been fortunate enough to meet the owner of the Mens Room, Allen, who is an incredible guy. You may or may not want to get your hair cut in a gay fetish store, but for me that was the appeal: to get a great cut in a super welcoming, proudly queer space. And a great haircut it was: Christian did a fantastic job consulting with me and then executing a new style. I really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be returning. I am a petite cisgender woman who wanted to celebrate my 3 year (aka leather) anniversary with my wife by purchasing a leather harness. I was nervous about going to Men's Room because I knew it would be hard to find one to fit me and I knew I wasn't the typical demographic to store is made for. I need not have been nervous though because a staff member named Michael helped me out a great deal, finding harnesses that could actually indeed fit me and offering options after I told him what kind of styles I had in mind. I recently moved into the area a few months ago and wanted to find a new barber. I got my first haircut a little over a month ago. My barber, Christian had messed up and cut my sides un-even and completely messed it up. I had complained to the store and they offered to fix and give me gift a card. I allowed it to happen and let them fix it. After a few weeks. I went back to give them another chance, and once again they messed it up. Again, Christian messed up my haircut and cut the sides uneven AGAIN!! I can see the natural lines so I know my sides are even but obviously Christian's work is not good enough to make it work. I am completely unsatisfied, and honestly didn't think it was worth even reaching out again. 100% would not recommend to anyone. read more
