Les Café got a fresh coat of paint from when it was Les Brothers but mainly it's the same. Decent breakfast food, maybe a bit bland sometimes. Throw a little salt and hot sauce on it and it's good. Pancakes are very good. The ruben sandwich and fries were the best thing we had. Nothing was inedible but it was nothing to blow your mind either. It's amazing how that I had to wait 1 hour for corn beef hash that came out cold and were other imperfections of other meals that came out cold very foul smell also service brought out the drinks and 40 minutes later came to ask what we wanted for our food and people that came long after us got there food and left and also the manger just has a nasty attitude the table was sticky and was just not good and also never order the chicken was still pink inside I mean it's liked they rushed for took a long time.. We arrived on a Saturday at 11:30 AM and ordered two sandwiches. A French dip and a wrap and we waited 25 minutes to get such sandwiches. I saw the manager passing and asked him what the problem was and he assured me he would find out. The order came out in bits and pieces. I got the sand but no au- jus, my husband got his potatoes, but no wrap. Here's the thing that angered me, the manager walks back with a plate in his hand and says to us "here you go sorry about that". I said to him "we wait 25 minutes and all you could say is here you go sorry about that?" And he answered with "well what would you like me to do?" My favorite for breakfast is anything with eggs. You ask for one, you get two. Ask for two, you get four. I am willing to guess if you order three, you get six. A fabulous 24 hr eatery that never disappoints. The menu has EVERYTHING. If you are from the south please do yourself a favor and eat here and see how they do it at a real diner. I grew up in Texas and not until I started driving a truck did I find out that the North and South do restaurant and diners differently. I love this place. Now with that being said. When we arrived they struggled to find us a table for our party of 6. Although the restaurant had plenty of empty tables. It took 3 people (management included) to put tables together. It was almost as if they were irritated we were in. They have placemats out that state "starters" and have them listed however this location does not serve appetizers :( the other location does and that they advertise in each for the other. That does NOT make sense at all. Then I got coffee and the cup was cracked. I ordered the Roasted Half Chicken and it was doused in a jar of gravy and some strange stuff was under it. On a Saturday afternoon after a good shopping day at Chicago Ridge, we always stop here and this is the place for a nice all American meal of mashed potatoes and gravy with maybe old school friend chicken, but oh no that's not it. There is a menu of so many foods. You can get Grecian chicken to pasta and a bunch of desserts. You definitely will not be disappointed with the variety of foods here. My first comment would be, during the winter months leave the heat turned up. I froze my eggs off sitting by the windows during my last visit. But to be fair. a lot of restaurants turn the heat way down over night. My problem is that the food gets cold fairly quickly when it is cold inside. Ordered a omelet and coffee. The coffee was luke warm at best, and this was a constant factor during the whole meal. I can see one cup being cold, but every cup was the same. The omelets here are huge and they are the puffy kind, cooked in a form and not done on an open griddle. The hash browns had some cold spots in the mix, but else wise fairly good. There was enough food on the plate to the point I could not finish all the meal. My main problem was with the waitress, she had no expression to her at all, like she lost a bit and had to work that day. She was not visible most of the time and when I asked for my check, it took forever to get it. All in all, I would give this place a second try. Great place for breakfast, and you can tell by the crows/wait that's typically there during breakfast hours on the weekends. It's a little smaller of a place but that's not a bad thing. The food is good, I'm partial to the breakfast skillets and the service is usually very fast and friendly. My only knock would be the hash Browns, I'm a fan of the old school shredded hash browns and they have more of a chopped potato hash brown. I found this restaurant because I was in the area and had time to kill. I went in because the place looked very inviting from the outside and just as great when I got in. I asked to be seated out on their patio because the day was so gorgeous. I ordered the sausage and cheese omelette which came with pancakes and hash browns and I ordered a mimosa. The food was great and the service was excellent. My server was a delightful lady named Debbie, and I will be back to see her soon.
