I've been coming to Les Cafe (Brothers) my whole life, but it's only after moving away that I've really come to appreciate it. There are two things I completely took for granted growing up: 1) Not everywhere does skillets this well (or at all). & 2) A skillet PLUS two pancakes for $12 is basically unheard of in my suburb of Indy. Sure, the ambiance hasn't changed much since I left over a decade ago -- and yeah, weekend mornings can get a little busy -- but honestly, that's part of the charm. Les Cafe has always been exactly what it claims to be: a classic, no-frills breakfast spot serving hearty, delicious food at a great price. I'm so grateful it's still here all these years later. Diner food at its finest, Les Cafe Pancake House does it all right. The portions are almost comically large - I swear it was at least a half pound of bacon that I received! I had just plain pancakes as my side, and they were delicious. I imagine that their flavored pancakes are outstanding! I did try the big baked apple pancake a few years ago, and it was incredible - but you need a whole crew with you to get through it all! Service is incredibly warm and friendly. I used to love this place and supported it often, especially because it's a Christian-based restaurant. But my recent experience was really disappointing. My friend and I came in during our school break, and a woman (who paid for our food but wasn't our server) asked about our esthetician program. Instead of being supportive, she made discouraging comments about how we wouldn't be successful and laughed sarcastically when we shared our goals. It felt very judgmental and unkind. Even after paying for our meal, she pressured us to leave a tip, despite us politely explaining we're broke college students and couldn't tip that day. We thanked her multiple times and explained we usually do tip--but she continued to push the issue until it got uncomfortable. The worst part is my friend was charged an extra $7 after we clearly said we weren't able to tip. That's extremely unprofessional and shady. As a business that promotes Christian values, this felt like the opposite. We used to enjoy coming here, but sadly, after this experience, we won't be returning. read more

This was a quaint little spot down the street from my hotel. My sister and I were in town for a family reunion. I just liked the name and it looked enticingly nice on the outside. Though the food was tasty (Six-egg Ultimate Omlette - loaded, hash browns with onions and two tasty buttermilk pancakes Mmmm!!!) the ambiance was over the top! Neighborhood valued - you could tell people had been going there for breakfast for years - a neighborhood favorite. The hostess struck up a conversation with my sister as she seated us - like she had known us before, the waiter was attentive, and the cashier (manager or owner), didn't let us leave w/o a personal conversational exchange. Absolutely amazing!! My first time dining here and I enjoyed every bit of it ! I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. It was so warm and flaky and perfect. I also ordered a side or grits and a half order of their biscuits and sausage gravy, alll to die for! Honestly the portions are huge so you'll be asking for a Togo box in no time lol but very delicious, I do recommend, and I will be back! Liz was our server and she did exceptionally well!! So, usually like coming here, today was different. The name of this business used to be Les Brothers but now it's changed names to Les Cafe but it's now a younger generation of owners. When I've usually been here, there's female managers and/or owners, not sure, but they're very nice. Today, the male owner was there working the front counter and he was on his phone the entire time talking/arguing with whomever he was on the phone with. It was quite annoying and loud. Maybe he should learn to be off the phone while people are in his restaurant so they don't have to listen to this and be disturbed with his personal business. Besides that, the food was good as always and our waitress was a peach! I think I'm going to wander the area in search of a new place. read more

My first time and I'm in love! The service is amazing. The dining area is clean and comfortable. The amount of food you receive for the money is a great value. Today I ordered coffee along with the Sirloin and eggs. It comes with potatoes and either pancakes or toast. I had to try the pancakes. I also received FOUR eggs. The menu says two, but they doubled them! The food was very good. My coffee was topped off plenty of times and I never felt rushed or disappointed. I will be back and I can't wait to try more of the menu options!!!! read more

I must start this review with their music of choice. I. Lurve. It. I ordered the Greek Omelet. With easy cheese. And only on top so I could scrape it off if I needed to. Umm... I needed too. Bahahahahaha! And I know. Some of you read my reviews and you're all thinking that I'm nuts. I love cheese. I actually really do. Just not on my eggs, I guess. #shrug Their hash browns are cooked well. I love that they HEAVILY butter their toast. And their pancakes are yummy. They have street parking... I do not leave 1 star reviews lightly or often so here goes: Visiting family out of state and they wanted to treat us to a nice breakfast. Checked a few reviews and was excited to give it a try. First you sit down and are greeted by a wonderful placemat full of ads. The greek columns and decor are a bit confusing but whatever. Hubs went with the steak and eggs with hash browns, rare and over medium eggs. What he received was well done steak on a plate of juice meaning it sat at the window prior to serving and over hard eggs. Hash browns were burnt and under seasoned soggy mush all at the same time (and so were everyone else's at the table). I ordered the strawberry crepes. The menu says fresh strawberries but they actually use heavily sugar laden strawberries in syrup rendering my crepes almost inedible. We approached our waitress about the issues assuming a correction would be made, a fresh steak at a minimum, or an adjustment to the bill. She never came back to the table. Service was terrible, the food was even worse and when my mother approached management of this establishment to rectify our subpar meal the owner was horrifically rude, unwilling to do anything and said you should have brought it up during the meal - which we had. Rarely does Yelp get it SO VERY WRONG. Party of 6. Paid full price, tossed most of it into the trash and would never recommend this business to anyone. read more

Tried this breakfast place out for the first time. Like most breakfast places, it had a large menu with a variety of breakfast and lunch items. I ordered breakfast food which included the Dutch baby pancake and biscuits and gravy. You have to order 30 minutes ahead because the Dutch baby pancake takes awhile to make. Luckily I did this and received the order just a few minutes after I arrived for my reservation. The pancake was huge and I shared it with my table. Unfortunately, the pancake was pretty dry and tasteless. I had to order a side of cut up strawberries to make it taste better. The gravy for the biscuits was very strange. I think they used too much flour when making it because it was very thick and lacked taste. The service was good, but next time, if I do come back, I will be ordering something different. read more

Here is another in a line of family style restaurants over in NW Indiana (Highland). Their menu is varied and they have a full line of breakfast and lunch type foods (only open basically for the two meals). I had not been here in a number of years but decided to give it a try today since I had my mom with me and we were looking for a place to eat. The portions are huge and filling. I had a gypsy skillet (eggs, melted cheese, ham, onions, and peppers on a bed of potatoes. My mom had an everything omlet sans the cheese. She had toast with hers and I had pancakes which were huge. Definitely helped that the coffee was bottomless cup (and they even had Splenda upon request!) . Definitely will come here again if the opportunity allows itself. read more

I try to eat here at least once a week, more if I can justify it. It's near the highland schools - which makes it a nice place to hit for breakfast after dropping off my kids - and it's near the American Legion post too. They have a giant Mickey Mouse Pancakes on the kids menu, so my son is a happy camper and his sister likes the "grownup" menu pancakes. I roam around the menu each time and haven't found anything I don't like yet. read more

Stopped in yesterday for the first time in several years. Trying to still find a place with good service and good food. I found it. My grandsons loved the soup and grilled chicken club.
