Can't believe it took me this long to review our favorite breakfast spot! Avego is dangerously close to home and the portions are HUGE. We keep coming back for the berry waffles, all the skillets, and biscuits and gravy. Everything hits the spot every time. Bring an appetite and maybe sweat pants.

It's 1:30 on Palm Sunday and the place is still hoping. The menu looks interesting. Tons of fun French toast , pancake, and crepes choices. Plus, they leave the pot of coffee and water carafe on the table! Portions are large. The garden skillet(vegan) comes with a generous dollop of avocado. Our pineapple pancakes were fine. The 3 links of sausage probably sourced locally is plump, meaty, and juicy. Our server Tanner was prompt and attentive. Avgo is worth the 5 stars.

I was not kidding in my last review when I said I had to come back ASAP and try their breakfast because lunch was so outstanding! Breakfast didn't disappoint either. My husband and I got here at around 8am. It was somewhat busy, but we were seated immediately. I ordered the Gingerbread Pancakes from their monthly features menu and wow, those pancakes need a permanent menu spot. It tasted just like a gingerbread cookie in pancake form. It was a perfect breakfast for the holiday season. The portion was gigantic, so it made another breakfast meal for me the next day. We don't live in the area, but I foresee AVGO being a restaurant we frequent when we visit my in laws.

Such a fun brunch vibe! Went on a Saturday afternoon and despite the volume of people waiting we were seated within 15 minutes which was great. Opted for the mimosa kit with 3 different juices all of which were fresh tasting and added layers to the typical orange option. No issues with any of the food EXCEPT the "crab cakes" were more like an interpretation of one and resembled more of a fritter with 95% breading and less than 5% crab which seemed like imitation. I'd love to go back but I'm staying far far away from that one! Would love to try more of their sweeter options.

AVGO is my favorite part about coming to visit my parents in Lowell-but don't tell them I said that. It's always busy when I come here but that doesn't affect the service or the wait time. I've had the eggs Benedict and probably is the best one I've had in a long time and another time I had the berry crepe thing and wow- that was delicious.

Hubby and I pick out a restaurant once a week to reward ourselves for our Y workout. Last week it was Avgo. With road construction, a squeak to get into, but inside was a lovely, decorated, comfortable dining area with side bar. (I kept hearing sounds from the bar and wondered if we should have sat over there!) Quiet hubbub, friendly, happy atmosphere. We were seated quickly near a window. Our server was prompt and delivered water and coffee. (Thank you!) Goodness, what a menu! Hubby found 4 eggs, meat, and pancakes, and I went for a skillet called Yia Yia's. OMG! So good!! Chicken sausage, mushrooms, spinach, onions, and mozzarella. Served with hash browns. (I had asked for pork substitute, but suspicion it was the chicken.) Impressed with the restaurant label on everything (must be sale items), but it was fun to look everything over and loved the condiments, extras on the table. Lindsay was attentive, personable, but not overly-interrupting. Prices were a bit on the high side for us, but the food was plentiful (doggy bags for both) and so delicious. Compliments to the chef! I gotta come back tho just to check out lunch and the bar! 4.5 stars for prices and question on the (pork)chicken sausage, rounding up.

I have heard good things about AVGO and am glad I finally got to see for myself. The restaurant itself has a lot of natural light. There are plenty of breakfast and brunch options ranging from classic to unique and modern. We walked in at 9 on a Saturday and were sat right away, but the waiting area was full by the time we left around 10. I opted for the gypsy skillet with ham, onions, peppers, hash browns, gravy, and cheese. Topped with 4 eggs and a side of pancakes, this was enough food to last me 3 meals and was absolutely delicious! My friend chose the chickpea avocado toast which came with 4 generous slices of bread piled high with avocado, chickpeas, tomatoes, onions, microgreens, balsamic glaze, and feta. I also liked that they give you a full bottle of water and carafe of coffee so you don't have to wait on staff for a refill, though they were definitely attentive throughout our meal.

We've dined here several times and have enjoyed each meal. This is our families go to brunch spot when we come visit in the area. We were disappointed in the service today since we never got another pot of hot coffee to enjoy with our pancakes. We waited a while and eventually had to get up to ask for the pot we requested. We gobbled up the entire meal and enjoyed every bite.

Came here on a Saturday morning at about 11:30 AM to a very long and large waiting area full of people Good luck finding parking as well. Even though there seems to be a lot of parking you actually have to wait for someone to leave to get into a space because they are limited. The restaurant is located what looks like to be a commercial office building on the first floor As soon as you get in, you need to digitally check in and place yourself on the waitlist We waited a total of 27 minutes with no place to sit because it was that crowded When we finally sat down, although our waitress was a little slow on the uptake, the food was faster than waiting for her to take our order The food arrived super fresh and hot order taken perfectly, and these portions are super big and generous I have to say the food is tasty. It looks great, and it is great value. I would definitely come back here again because the quality of food is good Now I know how to prepare for the crowd and the weaker time Also, they happen to see us right next to the most Instagram, part of the restaurant, where they set up this bench and a light fixture which I included in this review, because we were literally right next to it, and there were crowds of people standing around, waiting to get their perfect photo

Avgo never disappoints. Worth the 30 minute drive. And 30 minute wait. When family comes from out of town, I like to show off Avgo.

Very good food. Prices are a little high. Nice to be able to get a cocktail in a casual restaurant. Cane quite noisy.

So it's not the easiest to find unless you're specifically looking for and or purposefully reading the signs. Since it is in a short mall, parking was very amble so that was great. When we got in, there was a little to no weight, which was also very pleasant. The place is themed with all music and rock 'n' roll art and really bright bold colors. The service was OK, but she actually forgot our coffees and I had to ask a second time and when I asked the second time she only brought over one coffee instead of the original two we ordered We ordered chicken and waffles and quite frankly she told us that these were the absolute best chicken tenders and no sauce was needed, even though it did come with sauce, and I did order the hot honey sauce and the garlic Parmesan sauce. The tenders are good because the batter is seasoned however, I expected either more tenders or perhaps a smaller plate because if you look at the picture, it's more plate than it is meat The same could be said for the country fried steak. It was such a small piece for such a big plate. It didn't really make a lot of sense. Our waitress also told us that this place had the absolute best tater tots ever so we wouldn't put the tater tots and to be quite blunt these tater tots taste no different than any other restaurant This whole area of Northwest Indiana is so saturated with breakfast brunch spots that I have to say that the food has got to elevate itself to really stand out and also to stay relevant with all the competition.

The server was nice. But the food was very mediocre. The waffles aren't cooked crispy at all, but even if they did have more crisp to them, they lacked flavor. Glad we got toppings this time. They are pretty overpriced, I've had better for less at other establishments.
