I came in for breakfast and left wishing I hadn't. The food was honestly hard to get through cold, poorly cooked, and lacking any real flavor. For a breakfast spot, that's a big miss. The staff made it worse. Service was rude, unorganized, and it felt like we were an inconvenience just for being there. No greeting, no check-ins, no urgency at all. On top of that, the restaurant itself was dirty. Tables weren't wiped down, floors looked neglected, and overall it just didn't feel clean or welcoming, which makes you question what's going on behind the scenes. I had high expectations based on reading some of the reviews, but was disappointed in a few things...the food, the service, and how LOUD it is inside this place. I ordered the Brisket Hash and Eggs - it also comes with either toast or pancakes - I chose the pancakes, which actually was the best choice and best food I had. The coffee is also pretty good. Bold and HOT. The Brisket Hash is served in a smaller cast-iron dish on your plate. It's super dry. I think it's mixed with some hashbrowns and onions and some spices. But it was way too dry and didn't taste like smoked brisket, so if you were hoping for that taste of brisket, this isn't the right choice. It also comes with eggs and I had them over easy, other than still a little runny and not cooked through, they were okay. The pancakes were the best though. Super soft, comes with butter (on the side) plus syrup and a small tiny cup of applesauce (tasty). They had good flavor and was perfect. Someone at our table also ordered the Biscuit and Gravy. It's a super large flaky biscuit (way too dry) and some dark sausage gravy that tasted more like flour than sausage gravy. It was definitely thick, but the flavor was off. We did not finish it. Others at our table got just eggs, bacon and toast. Something you can make at home anyway, so it's hard to mess it up honestly. And one other person ordered the greek salad. The dressing comes ON the salad already, and it felt like they could have served some extra on the side. Just wasn't enough. Plus the salad was served on a plate, not in a bowl, so salad and toppings fell off onto the table. Not the prettiest presentation. In fact, the theme of this place is - everything is served on a separate dish, so good luck finding space on your table. Plus I feel the prices are way higher than they should be for the portion size and quality of food. The other issue here is that this place is LOUD. Someone in our group uses hearing aids and they had to turn them down because it was way too loud. we could hardly have a normal conversation and there were just five of us at a long table. The chairs are another issue I feel. As you scoot in and away from the table, it feels like the legs are going to break from underneath you at any point. They are wobbly, and very uncomfortable. So, in closing, I wanted to LOVE this place, but it's just an overpriced brunch location with a large two-sided menu of bland food with the loudest rooms imaginable. read more

Late Review I went here about a year ago and it is so nice inside. Perfect brunch spot to go with your family (saw my share of Gen X friend gatherings as well). The food was very flavorful & filling! After I left, an unbuckle was needed. Now I don't remember exactly what I got but I think it was on special. I've been back once and I got the Chill-A-Killa (not pictured) which was great too. Both times I've been, the service was great. We were checked on always right on time & the servers I've had are experienced/trained well. The ambience of this restaurant was elegant and French like. Very clean establishment. The hosts were very nice. Their outdoor seating area is very organized and clean with nice shade. My favorite meal was the pancakes they were delicious. I ate them before I could even take a picture of them. The syrup was good as well. My mom and sister ordered the other two dishes. The biscuit skillet my sister had, she said it was good. The biscuit was nice and fluffy. You do get a large portion and it can be split between two people. I've been to this location a few times. My most recent experience was a weekend breakfast around 9:30 AM. We were seated in the back room, which is an extra loud space (it looks like they have some sound absorption panels on the wall, but they're not doing enough), and the restaurant was playing loud "club" music. The seats were a bit too close together, and the noise made it a rather unenjoyable experience. I ordered the 50/Fifty, but it had a bitterness to it that I didn't enjoy (maybe from the pesto?). I ended up swapping plates with my husband who had ordered the Super Fungi Omelet. The side of pancakes was the best part. They don't offer any specialty coffee, which is a bit of a surprise with the vibe they seem to be going for. The service was fine. I should also note that they charge a credit card fee, and were one of the first restaurants I noticed that started doing that a few years ago. read more

Great food and the menu has a large number of good choices. Everyone at our table enjoyed the meal. Service is lacking. Hostess seemed to be preoccupied and argued with another employee. She told us they were trying to figure out where to seat our table of 5 since they are "not allowed to push tables together". They did for us and another large table after us. Many rules in the menu including a gratuity added for parties if 4 or more (see picture). Came here on a random Saturday and there is no reservation possible it is first come first serve. Luckily there was no line, but there were a lot of people here and I found out the place was actually very sprawling. That also includes a small outdoor patio. Parking is shared as this is in a smaller strip mall, but parking can be found. The menu is unique yet also has a lot of the breakfast and brunch staples that you would normally expect. There are also some unique pieces like the chorizo or the selection of vegetables that they put into the mix. The drinks and the juices are also a formidable menu to be able to read and choose from. The ambience is super cute looking very with a modern twist with an appreciation of wood and fixtures. I would definitely come back here again as service was quick. The food was definitely a fair portion for the price with unique flavors. Munster is finally entering its millennial-grey core era. Everything about the Harvest Room says "they almost understood the assignment." The decor is so super minimalist that the building looks like they ran out of money after doing the bar and the custom mirrors. The host stand gives Ikea. Don't sleep on the Bloody Mary here, it is absolutely divine and can also be made virgin. I had the crab cakes benedict and once again, it was so close to being good. The crabcakes themselves were cold and mushy and had an off-taste of bell pepper. Wet, cooked tomato and moist avocado between the cake and the English muffin made sure to take any crunchiness out of the outside of the cake or the toasted bread. The hollandaise was a vibrant, fake yellow-looking color and seemed very "box mix" and not made in-house. Maybe it was an off day? I can't be sure, but I would definitely not order this $22 kind-of-not great meal again. The service is very kind and made up for the meal. My server was very attentive and a great conversationalist. The lunch menus on the website look like they were scanned in through a potato because they are not clear like the breakfast menus. An odd experience for an old man used to a different "vibe." The place is open and airy, the decor nothing special. The waitstaff is best experienced in bright sunlight as their dress and manner could be troubling in dark light. Their attitude needs improvement in any light. As their work is clearly perceived as beneath them. The food represents the definition of poor value for money as it was ordinary in presentation and taste and inordinately expensive for what it was. The food looked better on the menu than it actually tasted in my opinion. For the price, definitely could improve on the flavor more! Also, trying to fit a ton of people around the bar area was NOT IT. The restaurant seems a lot bigger and all the tables were being placed near the bar, which is very very tiny and crowded. Multiple times servers would pass by and my friend would get bumped in the back or they would swing the tray and almost hit one of us in the face. When I visit NWI, I try to stop by Harvest Room because I miss their food. Atmosphere is still the same and the food is just as delicious. My favorite thing to order is the Bravocado toast. It is sweet, tangy, crunchy, and I love the salt that tops it off. A couple of years ago, I had my small wedding reception (during COVID) at Harvest Room! The owners were so helpful and responsive to all of my questions. It's a cozy place to have a small get together and we got to have the whole restaurant to ourselves. I've never had an issue with service. The waiters/waitresses have always been helpful. Lastly, their cocktails are amazing!! It's seasonal but if you ever see the pear whiskey sour, you should definitely try it. The booty collins is also a great choice (and year round), but something about the pear whiskey sour is to die for. read more

We asked to substitute some items but weren't told there would be an upcharge. Always inform customers so they can decide if they want to substitute. We were even charged extra for items served on the side. A tip is based on service. Our service was bad thus the tip was small. The server ran out the restaurant trying to give the tip back. That's tacky. If you want a better tip then give better service. This restaurant also charges you for using your credit card. Credit card fees for a restaurant is part of having a business. Don't pass it on to the customer. Won't be back, too many other better restaurants in the area. With better food, service, and less unwanted fees! read more

I also had a half order of biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were buttery and perfect. The gravy tasted a lot better than it looked. I packed up the eggs and biscuits and headed to one of my more frequented breakfast places, ordered a side of corned beef hash and heading home to try to make sense of this breakfast. They have a cute little patio out front with plants that provide some shade for the morning sun, but we opted to eat inside. Our waitress was polite and prompt. I was a bit skeptical because the prices are higher than my standard Region breakfast spot and my dish appeared smaller than skillets elsewhere, but the bangers & bravas skillet was incredibly filling and came with a side of pancakes. Lasted me three meals! My only gripe is that the whole dish was a bit greasy. Chorizo is naturally fatty, but they could have drained off the excess grease. Doggone it! I so wanted to leave a five star review but in all good conscience I can't. The service was five star. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere is nice and roomy. The ceilings are very high and they use space generously for their guests. It has a nice retro 30's-40's vibe that I enjoyed. I ordered the steak and eggs. I was immediately happy when I saw that the whites for my sunny side up eggs were cooked thoroughly and not runny at all. You may be surprised how rare that is. -Quick side note- the seasoning was left to me. The toast was plain but delivered with jam and butter. The eggs and steak came unseasoned with salt and pepper shakers provided. Unfortunately my steak came well done when I ordered medium rare. They were happy to remake the steak (which was perfect on the remake) and rushed it for me. Let's call my overall experience 4 1/2 stars. I would recommend this establishment.
