I also like to get the cowboy crepe here too. In my past experience, I haven't been too crazy about the sweet crepes because they have too much going on, but I like the savory crepes. You'll go inside to be seated. The indoors has a market vibe because there are other store fronts within. There is plenty of indoor seating, but I prefer the patio. If the patio isn't open, they have covered outdoor seating right by the entrance. Do know you need to go up stairs to get inside. On our recent visit we were seated outdoors immediately. We were a group of three and ordered the cowboy crepe and lobster and crab crepe to share. I'm not sure what happened, but these crepes weren't as good as I remembered them being. Was in Carytown and wanted to eat outside for dinner and decided to eat on the porch at Les Crepes. Service was quick and the porch was a nice place to watch traffic and people. It was prom night, so there were a bunch of nicely dressed people walking to and from pre-prom dinners. We started with the olive tapenade and a Bellini and a champagne. The tapenade was really good, so were the drinks. For dinner we ordered the Salmon Salad, strawberry crepes and the ham & cheese crepes. Everyone was happy with their choices. Not my cup of tea but I'm glad I tried it. Met a friend for lunch on a Sunday. I arrive a few minutes early so waited for her to come. There were a lot of people coming and going so this place is busy. Once my friend arrived, we were seated at a two-top table. We were brought water and placed an order for limoncello mimosas. They were really good! For food my friend got the salmon crepe and she said it was too salty, specifically the sauce. I had a taste and confirmed it was too salty. I ended up getting French onion soup and a vegetable crepe. The soup was good. The crepe had a mix of veggies, garlic and it was also pretty salty. I ate about half of it but I figured out that a savory crepe isn't my thing. My friend and I agreed we'd come for a sweet treat sometime. I agree with others who said it was pricey. Best way to experience Les Crepes is to go with a few friends & try different flavors. I still miss the sampler plate, but sharing a few crepes is the best way to go! This go round my friends & I got breakfast, cowboy (steak & mushrooms), burger, crème brûlée, and strawbella crepes. Split between 3 of us was the perfect amount. The standout was the burger crepe, very yummy flavors & surprisingly the sauce brought it all together (I dislike condiments). I took my office family out for a special lunch. Les Crepes seemed to be a great choice for a fairly diverse group of taste preferences. Let's start with the pre-game aspects. Making a reservation was very easy. I went direct and called, and the restaurant followed up with texts to confirm and to remind the day before. They even offered me a choice of outdoor or indoor seating well in advance. Excellent. The restaurant is located in the Carytown area, which means parking is a mess usually. Not here -- they have a small private lot. Again, excellent. The setting is very pretty -- the building must have been a bank or a church a hundred years ago. There are stairs to navigate so if you need accessibility you need to check on that. Inside is pretty and airy and expansive. I felt relaxed as soon as I arrived. Until the sounds of construction from the floor above started pounding away. This continued throughout the meal (do you work when the restaurant is closed or simply close for the day folks.) This aspect was sufficiently distracting to dock Les Crepes a star. The food was absolutely excellent. A lot of variants on crepes to choose from. I chose the Crepe Carbonara ("Chicken, bacon, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and pesto sauce. Contains eggs.") which was a great balance of the proteins and cheeses. It was just on the edge of being too salty but not quite. Good parm will do that sometimes. A dining partner chose the Curry Lamb ("Slow roasted lamb with curry sauce, and spring mix. Topped with pineapple-mango chutney and dried cranberries.") He practically licked his plate. Another went for the crepe french toast ("French toast dusted with powdered sugar, served with three scrambled eggs with bacon, cheddar cheese and maple syrup o/s.") She was pleased as well. Several others opted for the Cowboy ("Grilled tenderloin steak, Portobello mushrooms, zucchini, caramelized onions, spring mix, and a creamy mushroom-bacon sauce.") Everyone was pleased. Most everything has a gluten free option. Impressive. Of note, we all had intended to order dessert crepes as well. There is absolutely no way, if you eat all or most of your entree. Portions are very generous. So next time, we will start with dessert! Service was good, if stretched. One person was serving the four or five tables in use, several of which were parties of 6 or more, and he was prepping the bar area for later business. Only caution on the experience is that at least for our party of 6 they added a gratuity to the check. I am not opposed to this, just watch for it unless you want to be the "tip of the day" when you add more on top. Overall a good experience and a nice "special lunch." read more

When we first walked up to Les Crepes Carytown, I was blown away by the building. It's a gorgeous building. When we went in I was a little confused at where to sit or where to even go. There is a bar to your right, a hallway with a flower shop and to the left is where you sit. Service did take a while but the food was amazing! Our family visited Les Crepes for Sunday brunch to celebrate my wife and my wedding anniversary. We were seated on the covered front porch as requested and promptly received water while we viewed the large selection of unique specialty crepes. Along with the specials described in detail by our server, there were many choices of savory and sweet crepes plus a great selection of other dishes that don't include crepes. I make crepes at home occasionally, so I was interested to see how much better these would be. Overall, taste wasn't much different but they win presentation hands down! My teenager enjoyed a birthday brunch on the outside patio with friends. I think the patio on a nice day in Cary Town might make the experience. My 11yo and I ate inside to give teens space. The indoor seating is a little awkward and not nearly as cute. We were at a table right by the bathroom and abutting an under the stairs decor "scene." We ordered one savory and one sweet crepe to split both. My 11yo preferred the savory (Les crepes), which was tasty with eggs, bacon and cheese. The sweet was strawbella with banana, strawberries, and Nutella. It was beautiful and tasted good, the bananas and strawberries were both the right firmness and sweetness. It wasn't a wow dish, but well done. Prices are a little high, but I think you pay a little extra for location. Of course with the location, you also get 13.5% tax. So, expect $25pp for breakfast without alcohol. I enjoyed this and think it's a nice brunch spot to hit every couple years. read more

My companion got the strawbella and it was HUGE. She said it came out really cold and asked the waitress about it, but she insisted that the crepes are made to order and it was cold because of the fruit. Hm. My crepe (dulce de leche) was okay in taste, but I absolutely couldn't get over how small it was! When the plates came out and I looked at hers, I honestly thought they'd made a mistake? Even in comparison to other reviewers photos of the same item - mine was SO SMALL. It was essentially an empty burrito wrapper AND it had the nerve to cost *more* than the giant next to it! Still full from our late lunch, we stopped into Les Crepes for some dessert. The menu was surprisingly extensive offering some very unique crepes like lasagna, which maybe one day I'll get back to check out and see what that's like. The waitress mentioned many of their unique crepes are served rolled up like a burrito. After reviewing their menu and trying to decide between the Oreo crepe and and brownie crepe, we went brownie. It came out quickly, and it was very interesting. The crepe was actually folded and rolled to form a bowl, which was packed with warm brownie and then topped with ice cream. It was absolutely delicious and unique. The waitress was fantastic, though they seemed short staffed as she was the only employee we saw the whole time, but she did great. It was a very laid back interior, I'm curious, what the space originally walls, my guess is a bank. I really wanted to like this place, but honestly the food was "mid" at best. Nothing to write home about if you ask me. I got the French onion soup as a starter and that definitely was the least appetizing iteration of this soup that I've ever tried. What really struck me is the seasoning they use for the soup -- I've never had French onion soup with this much pepper and a bunch of other seasonings in it and I just wasn't a fan. I also ordered the spinach crepe that comes with ricotta and cheddar cheese. I also asked to have bacon added to it but the bacon was barely there - they sprinkled about 3 small chunks of bacon at the bottom and called it a day. Very disappointing. My wife and I dropped in to Les Crepes Carytown before catching a performance at the Altria Theater. I only wish the showtime was later so that we could have stayed longer to savor our meal and experience more. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 5 pm reservation and were greeted and escorted to our table right away. The restaurant is in an old converted house and still retains much of the Antebellum charm of the old house. Our waiter, Noah, was cordial and courteous and was able to make a number of recommendations from each section of the menu. My wife started with the French Onion soup and was quite happy with it. The onions were soft and bite-sized and the broth was hearty and beefy. The cheese was plentiful and delightfully stringy. It was just about the perfect cup of French Onion soup. I, being more bold, tried the Champignon Soup; which is a creamy mushroom soup. It was earthy and filling and delicious. My only complaint was the soup was not accompanied with a piece of crusty bread to sop up every last morsel of my delightful starter. Our entrees were also very different but both enjoyable. She had the Carbonara crepe made with chicken, bacon, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and pesto sauce. The chicken was tender, the bacon rendered beautifully and not overpowering in the dish, and the sauce was smooth and savory. She kept saying it was one of the best things she has ever eaten and, after stealing a taste or two, I must agree. I ordered the Cowboy crepe made with grilled tenderloin steak, Portobello mushrooms, zucchini, caramelized onions, spring mix, and a creamy mushroom-bacon sauce. The flavor profile is definitely more robust than the Carbonara but still smooth and enjoyable. The steak was tender and the zucchini was not overdone and mushy. The flavor was well- balanced and I could distinguish each component as I made my way through the dish. While I have focused on the fillings of our crepes, I would be remiss to not speak to the vehicle in which our meal was delivered; the crepes. They were tender and warm but still held up beautifully to the dishes contained within. I am more familiar with crepes stuffed with cheese and meat and not saucy creations like we were consuming. While the time was slipping away as we raved over such a lovely meal, we could not force ourselves to stop there and not end the meal with dessert and coffee. The Mousse au Chocolat was made with a chocolate crêpe, chocolate mousse, strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream on the side. The mousse is made in-house and is some of the best dark chocolate mousse I have ever eaten. Imagine your favorite chocolate truffle amplified and melting gently over your tongue while fresh berries join in on the fun. Our cappuccinos were smooth and creamy and could compete with any of the drinks we had on our last trip to Italy. The restaurant was practically empty at dinnertime so honestly I didn't come in with high expectations but it was definitely a surprise how much I enjoyed it! I was recommended the Curry Lamb Crepe which I ended up ordering and it was delicious. I haven't tried too many crepes in my life and of the ones that I have had, all have been sweet.
