I was super excited to find out there's a new café in Midlothian, where you don't have to drive to Richmond. The bright and open environment is very welcoming. They have a lot of seating and the overall aesthetic is great. I also understand they serve ice cream and a variety of other drinks, including alcohol based. They also have food items. Let me just say my review is based solely on my drink because that's the only thing I had. I ordered a chai latte with almond milk, the total was about eight dollars, which I find to be more expensive than other cafés. The chai latte lacked flavor, with no strong notes of black tea or cinnamon to indicate that it is a chai drink. Honestly, to me, it tasted like hot diluted milk. I took about 3/4 sips before I poured the whole thing down the drain at home. It actually was just bad. Really, I should've asked the barista for another drink as this one was not up to standard. I was so disappointed in this as I was excited to experience a new café. Their menu is soooo extensive and I find with places that have such large menus, they usually aren't good. Love this cafes ambiance. So many cozy seating options, great natural lighting, and relaxing music playing. My husband got a Cuban coffee and I got an iced americano. We split an egg sandwich that we ordered on a croissant. We got turkey, egg, cheese, and tomato. The sandwich was well balanced and the croissant was buttery and flakey. The only downside is the price is on the higher side. Our server was kind and it appeared she was the only one making the drinks so we felt bad for her. I'm writing my review for this charming cafe while I sit here. Note that this review is based on vibe and one coffee drink I'm enjoying. I totally want to return to try some food and ice cream. I've enjoyed my decaf vanilla lavender oat milk latte. Upon walking in, I enjoyed all the delicious natural light. There is plenty of seating available along with a huge selection of different types of chairs. I love the art on the walls and the cute vinyl looking tape table in the corner. This is a fantastic place to get work done or meet up with someone. They have strong free wifi and it's not too loud. I came to prepare some name tags before an event and found the perfect wide table to do so. When I first walked in, I was greeted kindly by two baristas. I love that they encourage you to use a reusable cup by giving you 5% off a 12oz cup if you're drinking in the cafe. I hope they continue to do this with bigger drinks too. They have Women and Mens restrooms. The women's restroom has two stalls and a changing table. Although I live far away from this spot, I really want to return with my fiance to play some board games. Delicious and unique coffee place with delicious ice cream and boozey treats! The cafe is Rock and Roll themed and has decor that celebrates music and retro pop culture. The kids can get tasty ice cream and mom and dad can treat themselves to a "naughty" dessert. Staff are super welcoming and are able to offer suggestions of their favorites! There is a cooler with wine, beer and non alcoholic drinks. They have fresh baked goods too! We grabbed some bagels for the next day. It's a great spot! read more

First time trying this place with a friend. Highly recommend!!! Cozy environment, the gal that took our order was fun and helpful. I got a 16 oz latte and egg, bacon, mozzarella cheese, pesto & tomato on sourdough bread. Yum! The menu is designed to build your own breakfast sandwich exactly how you want it. A lot of choices to mix and match once you pick your main sandwich type and bread type. Each addition add on is $1.00. I substituted mozzarella for the cheddar so no additional charge there. Oh, and if you want to be adventurous, you can add a scoop of ice cream to your coffee! Next time :) read more

Staff was wonderful, the place is so cute and cozy. I could sit there for hours. The quality of the ice cream and coffee is extremely good! The negatives I experienced were with the food. My bacon egg and cheese sandwich was burnt and tasted like charcoal, inedible. The avocado toast was good but I paid $10 for this (pic shown). They forgot the egg and..... $10 for this? This cafe is a great addition to the area, we really needed something like this! A great ambience and study spot - chill music, tons of chairs and tables plus outdoor seating. It's beautiful on the inside thanks to the artsy decor and natural lighting. Service is great and orders are done quickly. The drinks are quite good. I must recommend the chai, the dirty chai (chai + espresso), and a latte with lavender syrup - they are all outstanding. The dirty chai is the perfect ratio of milk to coffee. Plus they offer nondairy milks like oat milk and almond milk. Their sandwiches and wraps are pretty good too - though nothing fancy or that will knock your socks off. The pastries though are awesome! Only thing to keep in mind - you have to ask what pastries they have available in the display so you might not always get what you want. I was very happy to see a matcha option on the menu and that you can get it unsweetened (Starbucks doesn't even do that!) My only complaint is that the shade of matcha powder appears to be lower than ceremonial grade since it is not bright green - if you care a lot about that (I do, as an avid matcha enthusiast!). The paler the green, the more bitter - so their matcha latte comes quite milky with less matcha (to offset that!). Lastly, the ice cream is fantastic! Wide variety of flavors too. The smallest size is 2 scoops which is huge. Trying to watch my waistline so personally I'd love a single scoop option, but hey a big portion size is never really a bad thing! read more

Great experience at Corner Rock Cafe! Came here to study and really enjoyed the decor and ambiance. The cafe is decorated with pantings and photos of musicians, movies and other pop culture icons as well as some original pieces. The drinks were fabulous. I ordered a iced vanilla and lavender latte with whole milk and it was spectacular and the affogato is amazing their ice cream selection is diverse and delicious (i had an affogato with turtle ice cream ) Cassie(made the latte) and Devon(made the affogato) were great! Service was great! Greeted when we entered the door and even conversation after our order was completed. Sandwich was OK but my fault for ordering pimento cheese sandwich which did not do well under heat. Coffee was great and the ambience is great! Love the pop culture in the walls and an old stereo system (for looks I think) against the wall. Would recommend this cafe but will order the BBQ on bagel sandwich next time which my friend got and said it was great read more

Seating is limited, it's not an office and if you want to use it as such have more individual seating. Coffee Luke warm several times despite asking for it to be hot. Egg and cheese sandwich lacking in both. Overall , a disappointing encounter. Too bad, good location but no attention to detail. read more

This place was really cute. I had an iced chai latte and the avocado toast with egg. The group I was with also tried their croissant breakfast sandwich and the breakfast burrito. The service was really nice; they informed us when we ordered that food could take some time because they only had one chef. I think the main reason I'm only giving 3 stars is because during our dining experience, one of the employees was visibly upset/annoyed and struggling to manage the kitchen and drinks. Eventually, this employee then went into the back and someone began shouting so loudly at coworkers that you could hear it in the dining room. Shortly after the yelling, we could also hear audible banging intermittently... it sounded like someone was throwing pans around really aggressively. I'm not sure what caused the issue but as a patron it made me uncomfortable and also just sounded really unprofessional. We stopped into the Corner Rock Cafe for coffee one afternoon last week. Devin was very friendly and offered suggestions from their coffee, ice cream and milk shake offerings. (It was after 2pm so no food was being served.). The cafe looks to be a great addition to the neighborhood, especially since they plan to add music and outdoor activities. Devin gave us an overview of the breakfast and lunch menu, so we definitely plan to return! Can't wait to try one of their boozy milkshakes! read more

The staff is great, and the ice cream Is better. I had two scoops and they were both delicious. I was very interested in the "naughty" coffee and milkshake menus {as booze is probably the only thing that would improve this ice cream). They also have breakfast sandwiches and waffles. It's probably a good thing for me that I don't live near there, or I'd be there probably more than my waistline could stand. ;) The store is bright, and fairly large, so there's a good amount of seating. It's located near several restaurants, and would make a great place for dessert. Or, just go there to treat yourself. You know you want to, and you deserve it. :) read more
