Crossroads is right on a busy cross-street near Forest Hill Park and is decidedly a neighborhood staple for a reason :) We finally had a chance to try them out and got an iced americano and iced oat milk matcha latte that certainly exceeded expectations! I'm a bit of a coffee snob and didn't expect much, but both drinks were perfect classic flavor profiles - YUM. They also had a few vegan options, though the baked goods didn't look as good as the non-vegan options, so we didn't try any. The services was very friendly and the vibe was super cute too - they have an outdoor patio with a pick-up window and a little punch card too. The place seems to be local fave place. The line was long because there were people in line chatting away and not being mindful of people waiting to order! Wish the store personnel were mindful to ask the patrons to step aside and wait outside. I ordered their chai with espresso. It was different good. I also got there muffins: spiced apple (rated a 2 because it was super dry and grainy), German chocolate (rated a 4) and carrot cake. Love that they finally opened the inside, it's so cute and cozy!! In terms of ice cream, the cookie butter is AMAZING and they provide super generous scoops. The cookie butter is based off biscoff cookies, you won't regret it! They are always willing and able to provide additional info about the menu, or suggestions on what choice to make. No snarky attitudes, ever, and they take their time with each guest- no need to feel rushed. The food is always as requested, using quality ingredients, and plenty food for your buck. Today I ordered the peach tea Arnold Palmer (sigh, so good) which had a wonderful sweet peach taste contrasted with the slightly tart lemonade. The BLT came with fresh tomatoes and a mix of greens. I know, 'it's just a BLT' is probably what you are thinking, but this was a solid 10/10 on the Yum-O-Meter. Don't trust what I'm saying? Ordered a cappuccino and burrito at 12:10pm and I didn't get it until 12:43pm. I did the #patio next to my name where it asks you to list it. Their system had it with just my full name (from my credit card info perhaps) I don't get it. Then this one girl with pigtails was so snippy when I asked abt it. This is a cute place to grab food, drinks, and/or ice cream. There is only outside seating, but it is really nice to be able to sit outside or also can go to the nearby Forest Hill park to eat and/or drink. There is also a small parking lot on the side. The workers are also very kind. The chicken Caesar wrap is so good!! The flavors of the chicken and fresh veggies and dressing mixed so well together. The coffee is also good, and the coffee smoothie with soy milk was very nice on a hot day. I definitely recommend (def order the Caesar wrap if you get the chance!). read more

I was excited when the inside finally reopened, because I remember it being the last cafe on south side with nice seating. Unfortunately they have fallen prey to the cynical marketing major BS that making the seating terrible and painful for disabled people will increase turnover and lead to more money. I'd just like you to know, it doesn't. I'd be there all the time ordering drinks all winter if you made it a nice place to be. But if you're gonna treat customers like the enemy, I won't be going. The best coffee and ice cream and more that I have visited in Richmond. My husband used to live close by so we always made a stop here. Every time we come to Richmond it's the one spot we make sure to make time for. Their ice cream and shakes are the real deal. So creamy and delicious and just amazing! Their coffees are wonderful. The flavors they offer are great and I really enjoy it each and every time. They have outdoor seating that is covered so you can enjoy your treats without the sun beaming down. The indoor seating was closed, most likely due to covid. They now have an order window and a pick up window for walk up service Staff are always friendly. I love Crossroads. In fact I can't believe I never finished writing a review about them. PreCovid we went there monthly. I love the Coconut drip coffee and I could drink gallons of it. I also love the eclairs although they are definitely big enough to split with another person. As for I recommend the hummus and bagel chips. My husband has played in a band there on multiple occasions. It is so great because it is one of the only venues in Richmond where the whole family is welcome. Saw this on TikTok as a "must have" in Richmond. My wife and I were greet with a warm welcome and the lady was very helpful with explaining the menu. We created our own bagel sandwiches, ordered a coffee and a mango smoothie. We were told 15 minutes but they had it out quicker than expected. We were not impressed with sandwiches. I used to love going to crossroads when they had there building open. Now they only have a take out window and it takes away from the whole experience of a local cafe. On top of that the food quality has gone down hill and tastes artificial. Thankful new cafe's have opened up in the area that offer a charming atmosphere with exception coffee and food. Crossroads serves food, pastries, coffee, and beer; a multi purpose joint to meet the needs of all family members. Five stars for a great tasting coffee as awesome vibe shop. We came two days in a row while in Richmond. There's lots of coffee shops to choose from but this one has the most options of gluten free as well. Each sandwich they offer can be made with gluten free bread. My daughter is gluten allergy so this makes going out sometimes hard for us. Crossroads has beautiful art on the wall, everyone is kind, the coffee and tea is great. Whenever I'm in town, I always make a point to visit Crossroads for breakfast and coffee. There's something about the atmosphere that my boyfriend and I love. Before I moved, it was our ritual to come here at least once every weekend. The breakfast is always delicious and hot, the coffee is wonderful, and the staff is friendly. My favorite thing on the menu is their breakfast sandwich. Sounds simple, but nothing beats a hot sausage, perfectly cooked eggs, and oozey cheese between two buttery croissants. If that doesn't sound enticing, the cold brew and selection of hot coffees is a definite must. The cold brew has a great coffee flavor with no harsh acidity, and there is never a hot coffee flavor that I'm not in the mood for! read more

The place is super friendly for kids, pets, friends brunch, family brunch! Anything! However, I payed 17$ for one 12oz cappuccino, 16oz wild-berry smoothie, and 2 chocolate croissant! For me that is expensive, although, I had a great time and everything was delicious! For future times, I will share the croissant instead of eating a full one by my own! This neighborhood place is an honest, wonderful little venue I can't say enough good things about. First, it truly is a neighborhood restaurant. They do it all, and they do it nicely. The owner is often there and will chat with you like a friend. They have ice cream. They have coffee. They have an outside space that is doggie friendly. They have vegetarian offerings. They have live music. Breakfast? Yep. Lunch? Sure. Local beer? You bet. Cyclist favorite. Walk over with your pupster. Sit with the kids. Grab a cold one or a sandwich under the canopy.
