Best meal we had in Paris and likely the best meal we had on our recent trip abroad. A thoroughly modern, refined and updated take on French cuisine prepared by a modern master, steps from the Eiffel Tower yet worlds away from the tourist hordes. Dishes were uniformly decadent yet delicate, each portraying classic totems of French cuisine in completely novel and creative fashions. Think; a unctuous pistachio and foie gras duck pie ensconced in a Uber-buttery crust. Or a delectable Snail ravioli in an Rich umami filled emulsification. Or a heavenly flaky puff pasty chock full of perfectly prepared shellfish. Freshest possible oysters topped with a brilliantly clean citrus-carrot glaze. Perfectly roasted lamb chops... We Topped off the meal with a heavenly warm chocolate mousse perfectly paired along with a crisp hazelnut praline buckwheat ice cream and stumbled out into the gorgeous Paris evening in a state of pure bliss. Service was lovely, in the classic Paris fashion, very thorough and thoughtful, with just the slightest touch of above it all superiority, but in a generally charming way. The space was smartly understated and the corner location betrays it's location within a hotel to the point that one might be unaware that the place is located within a hotel altogether, which in my opinion in a very good thing. Really really loved the meal here and will cherish the memory of it for the rest of my life. If that isn't a ringing endorsement I don't know what is! read more
