From the moment I walked in, the experience was downhill. The front desk clerk couldn't even be bothered to greet me, let alone confirm my appointment. Instead, she sat there silently clicking around while I stood wondering if she even knew why I was there. Since she offered no information, I started digging through my email to find my confirmation. Only after I handed it to her did she finally speak--just to say she "already had it" and was "updating the order." That's the kind of communication you apparently have to drag out of them. My appointment was for 10:00 a.m., but I dropped my Jeep off at 9:30 a.m. to give them a head start. The job? An oil change, tire balance, tire rotation, and a quick alignment check. About an hour, tops. I went next door to the gym to kill time. When I came back at 11:10 a.m., my Jeep was still sitting in a bay with nobody touching it--three cars total in the shop, mine included, and an empty alignment bay just collecting dust. We waited another 20 minutes in the sauna they call a lobby before asking for an update. We were told "30 more minutes" and to expect a call or text when it was ready. Noon rolls around--nothing. I finally called, only to be told it had been done for 20 minutes. Their excuse? "Our phones aren't working." Funny, since I was literally talking to them on that same phone. This shop wasn't busy. There was no crisis. Just laziness, bad communication, and a front desk attitude that could sour milk. The Buck Owens Blvd location actually knows how to treat customers--friendly, efficient, and professional. This place could learn a thing or two. The only thing they got right was the price, but even that can't make up for the complete lack of respect for the customer's time. read more

This was my first time at Schwab. I got an oil change, tire rotation, and alignment. 3 days later the tire pressure light came on. I called them to schedule an appointment to see what was going on and the guy had an ego attack. He wanted to know exactly what I thought they should do about it and etc.. I didn't think it was a big deal until he started talking to me like that. I decided that it would be better to take it elsewhere. I took it in elsewhere, and the driver rear tire was at 19. Great service, very friendly staff and terrific service and quality work. Went in for a screw in the tire this afternoon and this shop was jammed packed with work. They said they couldn't get to it right away but they would get it done before they closed. I left my truck and came back just before they closed and they had it ready. I have used this store for both of my vehicles and each time I have been very impressed by the service I have received. The store is always clean, the employees are always friendly and helpful, and they provide quick service. My reason for this visit was to have my brakes checked or replaced if needed. My normal dealership told me recently that my brakes were very worn and needed replacing asap, but I declined due to the very high cost for them to do it. A couple of weeks later I made an appointment online with Les Schwab for a free brake inspection the next day. Kyle got to work on my car right away and within just a few minutes came to ask me if I had been experiencing any problems with my brakes. I told him, "No" and he informed me that they were worn but still had several thousand miles of wear left on them and the rotors were fine. I was very thankful for his integrity and that of this store. You can bet that I will return to this store when it is actually time to replace the brakes. And they do oil changes as well. read more

I have been to Les Schwab numerous times over the years for flats, getting new tires, etc. I usually come to this location as it is closest. I recently went to have a tire patched for having a nail in it. The service was good. I experienced no problems or issues and that has been the case for as long as I can remember. I really appreciate that Les Schwab provides this service for free. I dealt with Skyler on my last few visits. The visit before my most recent one was also for a flat repair. Skyler was honest in letting me know this tire could not be patched due to the condition it was in. He recommend the left and right tires both be replaced but he also offered to simply air my tire back up if that was all I wanted. I decided to move forward with the replacement. I was provided two options with a clear description of both. They also informed me my other set of tires were still in decent condition and would last another 2-3 rotations. I will continue to come to Les Schwab because I appreciate the quality service. read more

Yet again, they nailed it. My guy went in for some brake and rotor replacements. I don't know much more than that as I am not versed in mechanics. The front brake pads and rotors were replaced in three hours and the customer service was on point, AS ALWAYS. They don't do work on your car that is not required. They see what's sick on your car, and they make it better. The thing is, you know how sometimes when you need car work done, and you take it to the shop, and there is this sense of anxiety around how much it will cost and when you will get your car back? Les Schwab completely eliminates that anxiety. That is what the ideal mechanic does. My guy is happy. I am happy. We will not be going to any other place for car help. Been going to the Les Schwab (NW Bakersfield) for brakes and oil changes for at least 5 years now and have always been satisfied with the service; I don't know what has changed but they are not the same. They changed the oil on my F250 and it is due again to be changed and this time I was going to do it myself; well the bolt seems to be stripped and there is a glue type substance around it, Les Schwab has denied it was them (stating they do not use anything like that) but they are the ones that did my last oil change and the same thing was done to our car we took to them. I will not use them again and just ask that if you plan to take your vehicle there take photos, videos and notes so if the same thing happens to you, you have documented proof, I never thought I would have to recommend that to anyone and it sucks because we have always used them and had a great experience. As for me, I now have to take my truck to Ford to have the oil pan re-threaded or replaced. People at Les Schwab are nice but just cover your six so you are not out money for repairs. Maybe management is not aware this product is being used, who knows but not worth the risk in my opinion. read more

They will try to scam you. I went in to get a tire alignment done and replace my front brake pads. They tried to say: "Your tie rod is wollered out, we will have to replace everything or an aligmnent will fo nothing." "Your passenger front brake caliper is completely busted, we'll have to replace it and the rotor" In the end they wanted to do over $1000 worth of replacements. Check the Better Business Bureau, this place is terrible. I took my vehicle to a trusted shop, they found that 3 of my 4 tires were out of alignment, my tie-rods were fine and my brake calipers were normal. Les Schwab will try to scam you. read more

I wasn't even 3 steps from my truck before Art was out there to greet me and handle my concerns. The team managed to repair my tire promptly and with such professionalism. Art handed my truck over to Jacob and with the same professionalism he completed the repair. They treated me like I was buying thousands of dollars worth of merchandise and all along they knew they weren't going to charge me. I paid for a very expensive front brake installation here for my Chevy traverse exactly a year ago (out of desperation) and have been a pretty loyal customer for convenience but my husband has always told me this place is too expensive compared to all the other tire shops. These brakes had a 3 year or 25,000 mile warranty. "Rich" claimed in a year my car was right at 25k. No exact number. Even if it was 24,999 miles they should've still honored the warranty. But they demanded another (over) $600. I would never use this place or allow loved ones to do so. read more

I don't know where to begin?? I gave them a 3* rating on my first review because of a few reasons, but let me tell you when it comes to customer service they can't be beat. Also their prices are fabulous too. I returned my vehicle after having a new set of tires, shocks, struts, bearings and an alignment done because my anti skid kept activating when going on an on ramp. Come to find out the model and year of vehicle I have is super touchy when replacing the bushings. I won't go into the whole story but they stood behind their work!! Yes Victor did everything in his power to get it fixed and unfortunately it had to go to the dealer because of that problem. These guys will go out of their way to make sure whatever they do, they stand behind their work and that you the customer are happy. I cant say enough of how happy we are with their work and exceptional service. Only if every business had the ethics these guys have. They went above and beyond servicing my honda. I recently took my honda to the local "certified" honda dealership here in Bakersfield which shall remain nameless. Not only did they fail to correctly troubleshoot the problem, they found a convenient $1300 problem which did not fix tbe original issue l took it there for. The tech at Les Schwab actually took the time to drive the car, hear the noise and identify the problem. And to top it all off, he made a simple fix to correct it. Problem solved.
