James st location Les Schwab is the worse experience I have ever had. 1 month 4 Lyft rides home. A friend gave me a ride too. Also my car was towed to the shop. The work they messed up was front end work to the tune of 1700 plus dollars. Had to take my car to another mechanic for a diagnosis, he took pictures and gave me a report of everything they screwed up, which was very detailed and wonderful to have but each time I went back to have them fixed it. Something else went wrong. They never test drove it or they would've known these things. I almost sideswiped a car, leaving there once. I had a hell of a squeal coming out of the motor that would've been noticeable with a test drive. Another time it round and round in a circle that's when they tow it. My son also called him since he's working out of town to complain how they've treated me and they used my kindness and my health against me to my son. That didn't go over very well. I'm writing this so nobody ever goes to the Les Schwab. I feel it's my duty to let other people know stay away beware. And make the manager acts like he's the kindest man in the world and he's the one that told my son due to my health and it was my fault on a lot of stuff. read more

I have been to both James Street and Guide Meridian a couple of times each. The service at Meridian far surpasses James Street, and it's now my go-to location. They found a leak that James Street couldn't find. And they are less busy, it seems, so they're always able to work me in on short notice. They are great to deal with! read more

I was dropping my husband off at the Bellingham airport when my husband noticed one of my tires was low and found a screw in it. I headed straight to Les Schwab and arrived there at 7:00 AM. Although they don't open until 8:00 AM their staff was already arriving. At 7:10 I went to the door and the one of the staff members came over to talk to me. I explained I had a really low tire and when they opened at 8:00 would they have time to help me. He said not a problem. At 7:50 he came out and by 8:20 my tire was repaired and they did not charge me for the repair. A day later I am still a bit in shock. I am so impressed at the service they provided and would not hesitate to buy tires or use their services in the future. Went here for alignment. They said they would take a look and see and then did the work. Never a confirmation. Felt tricked. Then went here for differ work and I don't think their employees are qualified to work on cars. Not enough mechanic knowledge. They replaced strut plate. Went to real mechanic and they said strut plate still making noise and it needs to be replaced even though it's new. NEVER GO HERE!!! read more

I noticed a nail in my tire, so I called Les Schwab on the Guide Meridian. They said no problem bring it by and we'll have it patched up. I brought it by and they took care of it with speed and excellent customer service and they never charged me! They said have a good day and off I went. They were very professional and courteous. Unfortunately I had bought my tires from Costco, which is a nightmare to try and get in for just a tire rotation. I wish now I would have bought them at Les Schwab. I had a flat tire and took it into the center about 45 minutes before closing. I was met at my car by Brian, who grabbed the tired straight out of my car and said he'd handle it. He didn't even ask my name - just got to work. Since I'd bought the tires from Les Schwab, Brian didn't even need to get my information - he just looked up the serial number off the tire and got to work. Long story short: He replaced the tire under warranty and had me out of there in less than 30 minutes. No hassles. No haggling about what was covered under warranty. Just good service fast. This is my second really fantastic experience with this Les Schwab location. They have really earned my business. read more

This business has taken multiple steps to take address pandemic concerns. Hand sanitizers are available, seats are spaced very far apart, all staff wear masks. That said, one area of improvement is that they could make sure people who walk in and/or sit and wait have masks on. I had to bring to their attention that a an was sitting in a waiting area without a mask, watching tv. He also walked into the business that way. Some people just don't get it and/or don't comply (meaning, many customers). Proactive oversight in this area would help, so customers are placed in the position to police this. Outside of that, the service was great, as usual (effective, timely, quick). It's a good crew of people working there. I'll be back to give them more of my business. read more

I dropped off 4 old mounted Honda Pioneer 700 tires and 4 new tires at Les Schwab, Canyon Road, Puyallup, WA on a busy Saturday and asked if they could swap out the old for the new. Bert, the Service Manager, went out of his way to help me. He said they could do the swap out but because they were busy, the job might not be completed until the next day. I told him the side by side was sitting on jacks and would appreciate it if I could pick the new mounted tires up at the end of the day. He promised he would do his best. Later, I was informed the tires were ready for pickup that same day. I recommend Les Schwab Canyon Rd to everyone. Bert and his crew are the best! I came here after going to the James St. location and having nothing but problems with them. I had purchased a new set of wheels and wanted them put on here. When I left, my steering wheel shook like crazy, so I turned around and went back to Les Schwab. As it turns out, they decided to not inform me the hub rings I paid for hadn't shipped with the wheels, and hope that my car would be fine without them. I would feel differently about this situation had they been up front with me initially, and made a conscious effort to rectify the situation immediately. Instead, they told me they "took a chance" on my car not needing the hub rings. One of the workers took my car for a test drive, and when he returned, he said the ride was "pretty smooth." I didn't pay $1,100 for "pretty smooth," and this good-enough approach is what solidified the fact I'll be going somewhere else for tire and wheel needs in the future. Oh, and this entire ordeal took me two hours when they quoted me at 45 minutes. read more

Les Schwab on Meridian rocks! I have a pesky tubeless tractor tire that always loses its bead and deflates. The "Schwabs" are always happy to reinflate. Today they suggested putting in a tube, since the bead always breaks on this tire. 8 bucks later, tube installed and I'm good to go. They are always kind and helpful, even when it's just a tractor tire repair and not a new set of car tires. Nice folks- guess where my next set of car tires are coming from? read more

My husband and I tried using their services on two separate occasions, but were refused service both times. It makes no sense because we were able to go someplace else with the same problem and were serviced professionally and promptly! I am starting to wonder if they refuse service to us for reasons we can only hope don't exist in the 21st century. My husband thinks the snobbery arises out of some sort of undisclosed company policy to not service people who did not purchase their tires from them, but based on the reviews here it seems that it is not the case (and if it is, then why not just state it?). The first visit was because we had a flat and needed a replacement for a spare, and the second visit was just a simple tire mount request. Do yourself a favour and get the best service ever for a quarter of the price from the Walmart Auto Center--just down the street. The guys there are fabulous, and helped us both times (my husband seems to not learn easily--but hopefully being snubbed twice did the trick). read more

Updating this review, I originally wrote it after my purchase but before experiencing vibrations in the steering wheel when travelling at higher speeds as a result of the tires. Brought the car back several times, they tried re-balancing the wheels however the vibrations did not improve. They recommended upgrading the tires to something else which solved the problem so I suppose the first tires they recommended were low quality? When asking whether that was a common concurrence the manager seemed to dodge the question. I've since opted to shop for tires elsewhere. read more

This service center is the best around. My family including my mother have bought tires and used their services for almost 13 yrs. I also have gone in before when I had a beater car and they gave me a back set of used tires with better tread. WOW, now that was amazing. I was struggling at that time. I went to get my brakes changed. They came out to greet me. While they were doing the inspection they noticed it was time to rotate the tires so they went ahead and took care of it! Like others, I have had a free nail repair. In itself, that is outstanding customer service. However, I would rather talk about the services for which I paid. I got a "new to me" vehicle that had a definite pull. I took it to Les Schwab, and they did a great job at a reasonable price. The also pointed out a couple of issues about which I was unaware, and gave me what I feel to be very honest and reasonable advice. Had low air in my back tire and went to fill at a gas station. The stem would not hold the air and the attendant told us to go to Les Schwartz . We were en route in the rental van from to Canada - Les Schwab had shut down for the day . The mechanic was gracious enough to pull out the tire , change the stem and put it on - and did not charge a dime . Old fashioned honesty and humanity still exist ! Thank you read more

I noticed my brake pressure was lower than typical unless I pumped the brakes. I took it to this location on a Saturday just before noon. It had been snowing recently, so the location was super busy for snow tire installations. When I dropped off my keys I was told it would be "a couple hours" before they could get to my car. Makes sense, cool. I got a call around 4 p.m. that my front calipers were leaking and would need to be replaced, but they would need my warranty information and the part would have to be ordered, which pushed repairs back until Monday. Thankfully, I kept my warranty paperwork, but I didn't have it on me at the time of the phone call. They said that was ok, they would order the part and I could just bring it with me or call them back. I called them back within half an hour and provided my warranty info. Monday it snowed again, but conspicuously I didn't get a phone call from anyone at this location. I worked that day from 11-7, so I didn't have time to call anyone. Tuesday I called early morning, and was asked for my warranty info. again (weird? Didn't write it down/input it the first time?). Then I was told they ordered the wrong part, and would need to re-order the calipers, and the parts truck would arrive approximately 11 AM Tuesday. Seemed fishy. To me, it feels like they forgot about my car on a busy day, ignored it on Monday, and realized their mistake when I called back Tuesday, but ok. I got a call around 430 pm. Tuesday informing me my car was ready for pick up. Unfortunately, I worked 11 - 7 that day, and couldn't pick it up if I wanted to. Wednesday morning I get a ride from a friend to the location to pick up my car. When I arrive the person working the desk did not go over anything with me, just asked for information and gave me my keys and paperwork. They were very polite, just didn't provide any real information, and I didn't think to ask. The paperwork itself was vague and only listed, "Warranty brake service" on the report. So, I don't know if they only replaced calipers/pads/etc. or what. When I go out to my car, which was completely frozen over as it had been left outside, I get inside (all doors were locked, all windows up) and notice my insurance card is on the seat (normally in glovebox), my owner's manual (still original, normally in front seat backpocket) was on the floor, and upon checking my glovebox, my registration was missing. I go back inside and mention this to someone, who supposedly asks the person who worked on my car if they had seen anything. Of course they answer no. I'm pretty upset at this point, so I just say thanks anyways and leave. Whether someone had access to my car and stole it, or someone at Les Schwab took it/threw it away out of spite, I'm not sure. Either way, it kind of sucks I'm out a registration until I renew tabs. tl;dr: Les Schwab had my car for 120 hours after I was told they would get to it in a "couple" hours, possibly lost/stole my registration paperwork, and didn't provide me with an accurate summation of services provided. On the bright side, they did honor their warranty, and my brakes work really well again. Also, everyone I spoke to was very polite. Overall, I'm much more interested in doing the brakes on my vehicle myself than I ever thought I would be. read more

I was driving from Seattle to Vancouver on a trip from Long Island to Vancouver when I show my tire was down to 17 lb on my 2018 Mustang convertible. I pulled into a gas station and put 42lb in and continue to see what was happening and it went down to 30 something so I look for a Les Schwab Tire Center and went to the one in Bellingham on Meridian Street. I could not believe how courteous they are from the receptionist Tammy to the salesperson Brian who took good care of me had me back on the road within the hour and would you believe it was complimentary. The guys here are fantastic, knowledgable. I brought my car in because I was having problems with my brakes (not braking properly). Previously I took it to the dealership service center and they said everything "works fine." So coming here, the guys took a look at my car, were able to see the problem, isolate and fix it. I went in to have my tires rotated and was told my front brakes needed to be replace right now. The mechanic I always go to changed my oil the day before and after checking my engine reported the front brakes were getting a little worn but that it could wait. I felt uncomfortably pressured by this location (and also by the James st location) and might not go back to them. read more

Absolutely the best service around. My mother in law had a near flat tire. She works near discount tire. I suggested she drove quickly over there as it was approaching 5pm. She was told there were 40 cars in front of her and the wait would be approx 4 hours. I called Schwab on Meridian just to check if they could help. Within 5 minutes they headed her way (in front of discount tire) and put on her spare. They didn't feel the spare was safe for her to drive all the way home on so had her follow him to his Les Schwab to fix the flat. Turns out the flat was not repairable so they fixed her up with new! All this was now done after hours. Thanks to Eric and all the guys for helping so much so quickly! This is not my first experience with Les Schwab on Meridian. Every time I have visited the help is quick, done well and priced fair. Thanks again to the crew. read more
