I had a horse show on a Saturday, and when I went to hook up my horse trailer the LR tire was flat as a pancake. Luckily I keep a portable compressor in my truck- got enough air in the tire, and took it to Les Schwab for a quick change to the spare. They took care of me as soon as I got there and found the culprit that flattened my tire. They repaired it for a later pick up. They did not charge me a dime for anything! I was impressed by the responsiveness on a Saturday morning, and the professionalism of the tech who took care of my trailer and tire. I was traveling from Las Vegas to Redding, California when I started having vehicle issues. The small towns between Las Vegas and Carson City had no mechanics available on Saturdays to help. I safely arrived in Carson City and pulled up to a business to ask for an auto shop. The employee recommended Les Schwab. I pulled up with desperation late in the afternoon. I was just a basket case with fear that I was going to break down somewhere. I got checked in and Chris drove the vehicle and identified the situation right away. Chris took the time to explain it was the control arms that were going out. He said they had good news and bad news. Good news was that they had the parts in stock, bad news they couldn't repair it until Monday morning. Well, I was lucky that Carson City was my two nights to stay. Les Schwab was able to get me an 8:00 am appointment on Monday understanding the urgency for me to get to my final destination back east. Les Schwab finished the repairs 15 minutes earlier than expected as they quoted two hours.. I cannot say enough to Les Schwab for all their professionalism, honesty, and willingness to get me a last minute appointment Monday morning so I can get back on the road safely. I love Les Schwab, the other day I hit something on the street and it burst one of my tires. Luckily for me, I was right by the back entrance and I went in there just shaking because it sounded so loud. they were so amazing. Gave me a really good price because on a four-wheel-drive I had to replace all of the tires. They did it quickly and now whenever I have to go in to air check my tires. They are just so cooperative. I went there to have my brakes checked. They said that my back ones need to be replaced since they were gone and my front ones still has some life left on them. So, I had my back brakes replaced and everything was good. The next day I decided to get my front ones done so I brought my truck in at 8:30am for that. They informed me they would get to as soon as they can. So I left. I called them up at 1:30 to see if my truck was done and the lady had to go find out what the status was. I was told it was just getting looked at because they had some walk-ins. I told her my truck was the first walk-in and that it should of been seen first. Then she made other excuses why it wasn't looked at. I already had plans to go out that night so I had to leave my truck there till Monday because of there lack of customer service. I talked to a manager and he gave me another excuses of why my truck wasn't done on time. I told him a phone call would of been nice. He said that that was there mistake. Not happy at all with them. Very disappointed with Les Schwab, to say the least. I took my Jeep Rubicon in to have an alignment, the tires rotated and balanced. After 1 hour of waiting in their waiting room, they informed me they only rotated the tires and balanced. They said they could not align since 3 of 4 tie rod ends were loose. They gave me an estimate of $1,009.25 to fix. I certainly understand they couldn't do the alignment if something was wrong with the tie rod ends. So, I then took my Jeep to Reno Vulcanizing and they did a safety inspection and said there was NOTHING wrong with my tie rod ends at all! All I need is to have the brake fluid changed. Maybe they thought this widowed woman was easy prey! Guess again. Guess where I will NOT EVER be taking ANY of my vehicles.....LES SCHWAB! read more

Stopped here to get a quote for tires before heading to an oil change appointment at Carson City Toyota. Jason was very helpful and was able to put together a quote quickly which included an alignment. We had to leave for our oil change appointment so we told Jason we would think about it and he explained the sale on the tires was good through the end of the month. When we arrived at Carson City Toyota we requested a quote for tires as well. The Les Schwab quote was over $200.00 cheaper and we really like Les Schwab's service and support so we headed back. Jason was again working at the counter and we told him we wanted to have the tires installed and also receive the alignment. He had previously told us it would be a two hour appointment. And in under the two hours the truck was ready to go. I will always remember the time we were traveling to Oregon for Christmas a few years ago and stopped at the Les Schwab in Yreka, California. We had a nail and were losing pressure. They got us right in, fixed the tire and told us to have a Merry Christmas. No charge and they got us on our way very quickly. These were the original tires on my Toyota and therefore had not even been purchased at Les Schwab. You don't find service like that just anywhere! read more

The service here really is fantastic. It seems that when you go into any mechanic-oriented shop these days, the employees are untrained and uneducated. Not the case at les schwab. Everyone I talked to answered all of my questions with confidence about installing new tires on a newly acquired motor coach conversion which uses an uncommon tire size by modern standards. I had ordered two new tires and found that I needed two more the day i went to have them installed. They had two additional tires run down from Reno and were still finished by 1pm. I will continue to buy my tires from Les schwab in the future! read more

Do not go here. We ordered wheels from them a couple weeks ago. They came in and we scheduled an appt. To get them on. They made us wait over 2 hours and then told us the tech scratched all the new rims and the hub caps weren't there. Couldn't put our old rims on so we had drive with the crappy ones for two weeks. Also tire sensors immediately went on. They broke all of them but only replaced a couple. No discounts, not even an apology for the horrible work. The time spent waiting. Now the tires are making a weird noise and the sensors are broken. Don't ever spend your money here! read more

They seem to charge more for tires than anybody else. Even other Les Schwabs. Got my front truck tires replaced at a Les Schwab in Northern California last July for around $400. Needed two for the back recently. Same tire same tread. $750 at this place. Went there to get an inspection and estimate on my suspension. Didn't have an appointment. They said to bring it in as it wasn't that busy. Waited around for an hour and a half before leaving. Won't be going back. read more

About 30 mins before closing - a tow truck dropped me off. Initially, they offered to replace a fully warranted tire for $60. I told them, "nobody buys, one new tire". So I bought one & got the failed tire (2nd one) for free. A Great deal, until I checked my steel stems, & one was left less tight than finger tight. Now they're hurrying to finish up & get closed, & I'm forced to not only get their attention, but show them this problem & get them to tighten it up - for which I was greatful - thanks. read more

Purchased four new continentals from les Schwab less than one year ago for my chrysler 300 AWD. Today, was driving and noticed the air pressure was at 26lbs and pulled over. The rear tire had a object sticking out of the top of the tire and decided to put on the spare. Drove directly to Les Schwab in north carson city, the store that they were purchased. With less than 10k on the tires, was told the tire was no longer able to be repaired. The inside of the tire looked to be grounded down by their tool for patching, but grounded too far to repair. Was told that continentals were one of the best tires on the market but since they could not repair this one, I was to have to buy four new tires. Due to the fact that my car is all wheel drive. I was told that since the tire was unrepairable they could not let me leave their store unless I purchased four new tires. Upon hearing this I requested them to re-install the tire on the rim, put it in my trunk and let me leave. Managment was very agreeable to this, I had a donut tire on a all wheel drive 300, 25 miles to go home, with two little children under seven years old. Took my truck in to get a patch on my tire. I was told it would take a MAXIMUM of 2 hours to do it (which seems like a stretch) 4 HOURS pass by and my truck hasn't been touched yet. I see that they are working on vehicles here that WERE NOT even here while I was gone. They also say they don't do appointments so I'm not sure how that even could have happened. When I get here to get my truck and they say they are pulling it in to work on it. I SIT HERE FOR ANOTHER HOUR, before I even get my keys. We used to love this les Schwab and ALL of our company vehicles go through them buying new tires every year for each of the trucks. WILL NOT be giving them our business again. read more

I have been a long time customer at this store. This past year I used them multiple times for tire repairs and today I needed them for new tires. Over a month ago I contacted the store about their prices and received a return phone call. I explained my concerns with their current pricing and suggested that as a current customer I was getting priced out of their business. The gentleman I spoke with suggested I give them a chance when I purchased my newest set of tires. Well today was the day, I pulled into the store, met with staff, checked on tire availability and was provided two options for my new truck tires. No dialogue between myself and the staff once I was handed the quotes. My only remark was that I could save money going elsewhere and the staff did not blink. They were kind but I knew right then that I was not going to be able to purchase a product that was in my price range. I thanked them and left. I was disappointed since I've been a customer for a long time and I've been in their store many times a year for various reasons. Fortunately I took my quote and went to one of their competitors. I was able to purchase rugged name brand tires with full tire protection, 50K warranty and free rotations. To my surprise, I was able to accomplish this at the competitors store for over $300.00 less in cost. Love the staff at Les Schwab, don't care for the over priced tires. read more

This is a straight up scummy company. We took our car in to get the brakes checked and were told that they were fine. Fast forward a month or so later the squeaking has become a grinding sound. We brought the car back in and were told that the brakes were metal on metal at this point. When it was brought up that we were just in, no more than a month ago. They told us that the person we were dealing with had been fired for providing false information to customers. My wife wanted to take the car somewhere else for a second opinion and was told that she couldn't have the car back because it was not safe to drive. So not only was she lied to originally, but she was led to believe her vehicle was safe to drive, when it wasn't. Now, essentially holding her car hostage they told us they would be nice and "only" charge $500. If you like completely unqualified people lying to you and letting you continue to drive a vehicle that is so unsafe, you can't take it anywhere else. This is absolutely the place for you. Otherwise, stay far, far away. read more

These guys rock! I started my Monday morning with a puncture in one of my tires. Couldn't figure out how to get the spare down to save my life. Manual was no help, dealer was no help. So I decided to call Les Schwab. Jason answered the phone and had Edgar on his way in no time flat. As luck would have it, I figured out where I was going wrong. I tried to call them off but they came anyway. Edgar finished the tire change and I came right over to get the tire fixed. These gentlemen are truly professional and a joy to work with. What a great place! The service here is outstanding, it's like being in one of their commercials. Always friendly, always take the time to explain things and always - depending on how busy they are - completed in a timely manner I will always buy my tires here, they may be cheaper elsewhere but the benefit of free rotation, etc is more than worth the piddly few dollars you might save somewhere else. Zero stars is what they deserve after attempting to scam me, and the manager is an awful person who does not know how to run a business. I came in to get a quote for replacing 1 tire pressure sensor. After waiting roughly 30 minutes for them to look at my car, I was told exactly what I told the woman at the counter and given a high quote. I politely declined and left. Upon starting my car, none of the sensors were reading (3 were just fine when I arrived). I gave it a couple days to see if it would resolve itself and returned today to get it fixed. I was told that the only way for them to fix it was for me to buy the new sensor. I explained that they could not send my car away worse than when it got there, so they would have to cover the cost if it was the only resolution for their wrongdoing. Requiring me to pay for their mistake to be resolved would be a scam. The manager proceeded to speak to me so disrespectfully that he triggered a C-PTSD episode. Then he kicked me out, forcing me to drive off in my car that his employees damaged and refused to repair. read more

I ordered a set of high end Rancho shocks for my truck. Called Les Schwab and they said it wouldn't be a problem. He stated it would be a two hour install plus a front end alignment. I picked up the shocks then drove to Les Schwab to schedule the installation. They stated I'll be on the schedule for Wednesday 10:00am. Drove 1hour from my house. The person at the counter, after being there 20 minutes said they don't install shocks furnished by others. Unbelievable. I wouldn't take my vehicle there even if the work was free. read more

Bought tires here $750 for my set of four on AWD. Been getting them rotated and balanced for 30k or so now. It's out of alignment and wearing on the inside front of the driver side front. Last rotation I picked up the car and asked if the tire was wearing funny and some (new) kid tells me yeah it was wearing on the inside that's because you over inflated it and when you go fast it gets hot and it expands. He also said we fixed it. Nope, they didn't because the psi was the same as it had been right before I brought it in. Maybe he should keep his mouth shut before speaking about something he doesn't know just to get me out the door. Now I am going to head to my mechanic to get that alignment done. read more
