Horrible! I had a chip that ran in my Ford Explorer windshield. I was told that it is one of the…read moremore expensive windshields to replace as you also have to replace the pillar posts along side the windshields exterior. I paid for it as my deductible was more than paying cash to have it done. The pillar posts are on recall but Ford does not have a fix for them. Anyway, I don't drive that car much so Safelite mobile repair came and did the repair and installed the wrong pillar posts which they informed me of and said they would be back the following day with the correct ones. Approx 3 weeks after the repair, I drove the car and noticed a crack in the wiper housing. It was cracked and torn. Upon further investigation I noticed the windshield was cracked under the new pillar post and was starting to run. I called safelite to report the problem and was told to bring it in so they could look at it. I made the appointment and took the car in. An installer looked at it and informed me that they would not repair it as it looked like I got another rock chip. I told them that was impossible as the car has been sitting as I drive my truck and not the car most of the time. He said that the damage was not in the pictures the mobile team had sent over after the work was done. Duh! I would have been surprised they would send pictures of damage that was caused by them. I was super mad and they sent the manager in to take a look. The manager looked at the damage and agreed it was not a rock chip and said they would replace the windshield but not the housing. Long story short. They replaced the windshield with a windshield that has speckles in the glass right in my line of site. Defective glass. Not just a few speckles, pretty long lines right in my view. I will be filling a complaint with the State Attorney General. I will never recommend or do business with them again! This should have been easy. In my lifetime I have never had so much trouble getting my windshield fixed. Horrible service. I even paid the upcharge for their supposed lifetime guarantee. What does that even mean? What a racket!
