I had a new set of tires installed. (I do a lot of driving spring through fall.) Not long after installation I started hearing a subtle rotational thump, thump, thump. Nobody at the shop could hear or find anything wrong.... I KNOW my car & KNEW something was wrong, I COULD hear & feel it in my steering wheel. Nobody else could feel or hear anything. There were "no safety issues found, so drive it until it gets worse, so we can reanalyze it." So, I continued driving it with worries as to what was wrong. I also took it to several other Les Schwab centers to be checked. Again, nothing found.... Winter tires were installed.., can't hear anything with noisy studs. Following spring summer tires (already mounted & balanced) put back on. Again I continue to hear & feel subtle rotational thump, thump, thump. Again, nobody finds anything.... This goes on for several months, & is now worse & I didn't think anyone could miss the issue. I again return to Schwab's in Brewster, WA.... (They were nearest at that time.) Little man there tells me I "have a leaky strut, so my tire warranty is no good." These $1500 aren't even a year old! I'd been making complaints (I usually never make complaints.) & having it checked by several Schwab Service Centers for several months to No Avail! I further questioned the (manager? - Hispanic guy...) He insists my warranty on $1500 tires isn't any good, cuz I have a leaky strut! By now after all those "check-ups" with "no issues found," I'm more than mad! I'm PISSED! I'd been trying to find & figure out the problem for about 10 months!!! This little Hispanic was telling me I spent $1500 (out of a FIXED income) on tires Not Worth a Shit & NO warranty!!!? I'm so livid! I drive an hr up the highway to the Omak, WA. Schwab's Center.., & arrive at their process of closing.... I'd also been at this shop previously without an issue found & told to drive it longer. At that time, I'd told them there IS something wrong! I KNOW my car.... I told them I just left from the Brewster Schwab's & I was more than mad. I'm PISSED! Explained to them the issue & what I was told. The manager (Scott) walked out to my car. Reached under & felt each tire. All 4 tires were cupped, & this is what was causing the thumping! OMAK Schwab's ARE the ones who DID work with me! First tried computer balancing tires, & told to drive it longer to see if the tires would "round out." Those who don't know, computer balancing is essentially like taking something square & making it round. I drive it after balancing another couple months, before being able to return (due to tight schedule). By this time the tires were no longer safe.... I know they were thinking I was just another pain in the butt people who like to bitch about everything. (Not so, I'm a content & happy person.) I want to say Scott, the manager of the Omak, WA service center went over & beyond working with me, trying to make it right. We sincerely tried everything to find the issue & correct it. I was also told, "there's one set of tires that Do cup no matter what vehicle they're put on." All in the end, I DID have to buy new tires.... Have new struts installed & an alignment. (Other reliable shops did the work - less expensive). As I said, I did have to buy another new set of tires, but Scott the manager in Omak, did work with me on the cost. I'll be making payments for a while, but the crappy tires & thumping Are Gone! Hopefully, there won't be any issues with the new tires. I'd only run them 6-8 wks before studded tires were reinstalled for winter. Guess this coming summer (2024) will tell the truth on the new set.​ read more

We purchased a car battery from Omak Les Schwab in the past year, car wouldn't start so we called and asked Les Schwab to come jump start it, mind you we are are about 4 miles away, they refused to come give us a jump. Not a good way of doing business with us because we have several vehicles that we used to bring there. read more

I was importing a car from San Francisco to Canada a couple weekends ago. It was a Jaguar with special Pirellis, and one of the tires had blown out. I took it to the Les Schwab in Omok, and received excellent service. They didn't have a tire on hand that would've been able to replace it, but they examined all the options available. Unfortunately, the owner's manual is very specific about the type of tires that can be put on the car so they weren't able to safely put any replacements on. They were extremely helpful - checking other tire shops nearby, making sure the spare was in good condition, and checking the local warehouse to determine if there was a tire that would work. Even though I ended up driving out with the spare (which they were kind enough to check inflation and balance), I was extremely happy with the level of service provided. I wasn't charged even though I occupied a good portion of their time. If I'm ever in tire trouble again, I know one of the first places I'll check will be a Les Schwab if there's one nearby. read more

We had a slow leak in our tire, and limped in to Les Schwab. We asked them to check to see if we had picked up a nail or something. As soon as they pulled the wheel off, they called me over to look at it. There was a crack in the wheel. Dang. Can't put that back on; it's not safe. They tried to find a wheel that fit, but my car isn't a real typical one and they didn't have my exact size. They offered to order one, but we wanted to get back home. Fortunately I had a set of summer tires at my Dad's house. He drove them out (it took a while), and Les Schwab swapped them out for me. They didn't charge us anything! Update: I haven't put more than 8K on the vehicle since my visit to the Redmond location. Yesterday I just notice "Major Wear" to the inside tread on the front tire. I took the vehicle into a reputable shop and found that the same two parts that I had been told that need to be replaced by the mechanic in Omak were indeed bad an had ruined the tire. The Omak diagnostic was correct and the Redmond facility failed! In October 2013 after hitting a deer I visited Les Schwab in Omak, WA. to have my Chevrolet Suburban aligned. After spending a couple hours waiting I was contacted by Christopher J. who informed me that the vehicle couldn't be aligned without replacing several parts. $340 not including the alignment. I was told it would be a day before they could get the parts and complete the work. I chose to continue on and have the vehicle taken care of at a later date. My vehicle had suffered significant damage so I decided to have the work completed after the rest of the vehicle had been restored/repaired. In June 2014 I made an appointment with the Les Schwab in Redmond, OR. to have the parts replaced and the alignment completed. After 30 minutes I was contacted by a technician who informed me that the front end looked great, but did need the alignment and front wheels balanced. Thrilled with the news. Paid $163 total. I had slow leaks in both inside duals on my motorhome, and took it to Les Schwab in Omak to get them fixed before continuing my trip to Canada. They found that the problem was that the braided extensions on the valves were leaking. Another shop had told me that the braided extensions were known to be problematic, and the manager of this Les Schwab agreed -- he won't even sell them to customers. They took the tires off and attempted to fit solid extension tubes on the valves, but the valve angle was wrong, and they broke two of them trying to get them to fit. They even deflated one of the tires and replaced the valve, but still no go. So they made sure the braided ones were good and tight, aired up the tires to the proper pressure (I had been running them at a lower pressure to improve the ride) and sent me on my way. They had to fuss with it for over an hour, and the total bill was $17.30! The technician who did the work even refused to accept a tip for working through his lunch break to get me back on the road! Bonus: With the proper pressure in the tires, my fuel mileage improved by around 15% to 20%, and the ride is slightly harder but still good. Bonus 2: The manager turned out to have recently moved from managing a Les Schwab in a town 30 miles south of where I live in California, and was a buddy of the guy who runs my local Les Schwab, and really a nice, down-to-earth fellow. It's a small world with some good people in it! read more

I called to get a price quote on how much it would cost to have tires swapped out on the one set of rims that I have. The man I spoke to asked me several questions, including "did you purchase your tires through Les Schwab?" I had not purchased my tires through them, and was very clear about that. He quoted me as the total being $65 for everything. When I went to drop my car off, I spoke to a different man at the counter. I explained that I had previously called and spoken to someone who had quoted me $65, and wanted to make sure the price was correct. He said it was. When I went to pick up my car, the man who rang up my bill also SAID directly to me "your total is $65" HOWEVER when I looked at the screen on the card reader it said $95. I asked him why he said $65 if the price is really $95, and he made some excuse about there being a fee for not buying the tires through them. I explained that I had talked to 2 separate employees who had specifically asked me about where I had purchased my tires and still told me the price was ONLY $65. I was never told there would be a fee on top of that, and to try and charge me for it without telling me is disgustingly dishonest. read more

I broke off the driver's side rear shock on my 2004 Toyota Sequoia near Mazama, WA on Friday June 15, 2018 at about 4 pm. The shock was dragged and bent before I could come to a stop so I had no choice but to remove it in the bush. As I went to work on it my wife started calling every auto parts store in the area for replacement parts. Shortly, thereafter she called the Winthrop Les Schwab and they didn't have the parts but they confirmed the Omak store did and they were open on Saturday so we called them confirmed they had parts and booked an 8 am appointment and decided to do the responsible thing and get it fixed before traveling back home over the mountain pass to Burlington, WA. On Saturday, I left my family alone in the wilderness and after a bouncy hour and a half journey, I made it to Omak around 8:15 and the guys at Les Schwab began work on my Sequoia. About an hour later the tech came out and explained to me he didn't have the correct hardware to finish the job. I was rather confused and in disarray because I had just drove about 60 miles out of my way to get my Sequoia fixed and now they tell me they don't have the right hardware. Why didn't they check into that before booking my appointment? The plot thickens. On top of that the tech tells me that before he figured out he didn't have the hardware he needed to install my new shock, he tells me he cut off the other side too and he can't put it back on. So now my Sequoia has zero shocks on the rear of the vehicle and the soonest he can get parts in is Tuesday. I tell him there's no way that's going to work because my family is alone in the wilderness back in Mazama and I have to get back to them. I asked him why he did that and he said "I just went for it". I understand he was trying to do the right thing and replace both as a pair, but that's not what I needed or asked for and I certainly didn't need to waste half a day to drive to Omak and leave worse off than when I arrived. Fortunately, my family and I drove very slowly and we made it home safely without rear shocks. What I want you guys to learn is two things. First, check and make sure you have everything before telling a customer who's 60 miles away that you can do the job. Second, you can't have employees who take matters into their own hands. When you reach a point of no return you should ask the customer before proceeding, especially a traveling motorist like me who is over 180 miles from home. No customer should ever have to leave a Les Schwab with a vehicle that is in worse condition than when it arrived. read more

My wife and I were traveling to Okanagan to attend the high school graduation, when 3 miles short of Okanagan the right front tire blew! Having dealt with Les Schwab tire stores in other cities, I drove to the nearest dealer in Omak, Wa. They were unexpectedly busy that Saturday, but were taking it in stride. I was waited on by Stephen, and he was very polite and helpful. He looked at the code on my tires, and they were from 2008, but looked good. I told him to replace them all, and he gave me credit for the rear two. We winter in Arizona in the winter, so the car sits for 6 months at a time and hadn't realized the time had gone by so quickly! Anyway, I'm super happy with the way we were treated and the new tires are quieter than the old ones. Les Schwab has always treated us right. Thank you! read more
