The lack of customer service is appalling! Jake the manager is the biggest problem with that whole place! His attitude towards customers was horrendous! They say no appointments are needed when talking to them on the phone but yet they make you wait forever for a simple job that takes 30 minutes! People come in after you and get served before you! No point in making an appointment. I made one at 10 am for a tire rotation. They didn't pull the truck in until 11 am and only after I had to go ask what was taking so long. Doesn't make any sense why they would make their customers wait so long for something that should take no longer than 30 min when you specifically made an appointment before hand. Thank you for your sincere concern for my vehicle Les Schwab Corporate. Let me be very clear, no one whoopsies multiple times on 4 different rims. It is my belief that all of this damage was inflicted INTENTIONALLY by an irate employee. I put a call into Corporate when this first happened because I thought you would want to know about this to rectify this immediately. Again, more gas lighting and brushing aside. The person who picked up pretended not to know what was going on but I caught them knowing the model of my car without me telling him and a couple other clues that this person had been assigned to handle me and was waiting for my call. I brought my car in for an oil change and a front break job. I was told they didn't take appointments, so I arrived on Saturday morning at 9:30 am and they were finished at 2:00. My first complaint is that they recommend replacing my calipers with my break pads. My Toyota only has 60k miles on it, so I asked if they were worn or if there was a problem. I was told no, that was just what they do. Second, they claimed I'd arrived without a cap on my master cylinder fluid reservoir. This is not something I've ever removed or noticed missing and it just happens to be a part you remove during a break job. So they lost it, and instead of taking responsibility, they tried to gaslight me into believing it was my fault. Third, the day after my oil change, I noticed a large oil stain on my driveway! When I checked the drain plug, it was so loose I had to turn it several times just to get it hand-tight. (Luckily, this didn't happen during a long trip!) So in short, I waited 4.5 hours, was upsold on parts I didn't need, they misplaced my break fluid cap and blamed me for it, they failed to tighten the drain plug, stained my driveway, and put my car at risk of engine failure due to their gross incompetence. I hate to give a bad review, but their practices are deceptive and quality control is inexcusable. One visit to Les Schwab and my car is now missing parts and my driveway is stained. read more

James and the team at Les Schwab go above and beyond. A buddy and I busted a tire, and the spare we had as well, stuck an hour and a half down a dirt road. We were able to get a lift back to Ukiah and spent all Saturday looking for a solution. Nightmare. We didnt bring the wheel, and barely knew anything about the car we were driving (borrowed). James not only got us the spec of everything we needed but offered to come in on his day off to help us out. They didnt end up having the wheel size we needed but the willingness to help and compassion is something not often found and something we greatly appreciated. Well, I forgot to do this update in a timely fashion but here goes. They were able to completely fix my car. It took some time (about 4 weeks after the last review) and I'd say they might not be my first choice to work on a European car that needs more than tires but they solved all the problems that the car was having and it handled better than ever. read more

Today, Les Schwab Ukiah CA charged me $78 for a WIX air filter. Shopped around, they go for $58 elsewhere. Not cool.

I got towed in because I didn't have key to locking lugnut on my car. After getting thier .I(I called first) the manager informed me it was 120 per hour shop time to remove lugnut and could take 3 hours. When technician came out ( he hadn't talked to manager) he said he had box of keys. 10 minutes later he had all 4 off .still charged 50 bucks. That translated to 300 per hour. I still bought 3 tires. Felt a little greasy I was a long term customer of Schwab's Gonna drive or tow farther in future by o a mom and pop read more

I was frantically looking for chains to fit very large tires (last minute) I had spent 30 minutes calling every tire center in the area. I had almost given up hope when I called Schwab in Ukiah. Mike is AMAZING!! We are traveling in our motorhome, and came into town for a quick stop at Walmart. We discovered a tire separation in our front passenger tire, with unique tire sizes we were a tad worried. We called Mike at Les Schwab and Mike was able to order tire tires, they came in at 8:30 AM the next morning, and promptly at 9:00 AM when the truck tire guy got in they started. In and out quickly! We had pulled off into a gas station because my aunt had a feeling something was off with the car, I checked all the tires and one of em was a little low and noticed it had a screw. We went to Les Schwab to get it fixed and everything and they couldn't because we didn't have the key. Note that this is a rental car. They couldn't do anything so we called the rental place and they said they could get a tow truck out here in 2 hours. Turned out it was gonna be 4-6 hours so we said screw it we'll go fix it at another place after we got eat. When we get out to the car the mechanic pulled the fucking screw and air was gone from the tire in less than a minute. Fucking lost it. And here we are now, waiting at a gas station to try and get fixed. Worst place to go to if you have a screw in your tire. read more

I went here yesterday to get a tire for a replacement for a 26' travel trailer. The guy was friendly-it took an hour. I called last night to let them know I'd need two more tires & would come by to pick them up today. I was told by a man Bob that the tire wasn't balanced & they charge $29 to balance the tires. I told him that is kind of stupid because people normally get their tires balanced. He gave a lame excuse of maybe the tire was a spare or for hauling. Again I said they are a tire place & should know to balance tires. He repeated the crap about a spare &/or haul vehicle. I told him several times it was for a 26' travel trailer. This is very poor service. Plus I told the they spelled my commonly spelled name wrong. I think these people need to review their customer service protocol & maybe clean their ears so they can hear/listen better. So these people must be hurting financially to have to nickel & dime the customers. I wasn't told anything about the tires not being balance but I mentioned several times it was for a travel trailer. Definetly disappointed I was told it would take 1 hr to change my tire and that 1 hr turned into 3 & 1/2 it took me having to complain to get my car in & out the garage. This is usually not my experience at Les Schwab but I'm definitely disappointed and won't be coming back to this location. Based on the recommendation of Bill Binns (diesel mechanic) I took my Jeep Wrangler to the Ukiah Les Schwab have the front wheels balanced. They gave me an estimated price and timeframe. I wandered around the Friedman's Lumberyard across the street til they called me - fifteen minutes earlier than promised. I walked back to Les Schwab and was told that my front tires (not rims) were slightly out of round. They did the best they could to balance the tires and rims but because they couldn't guarantee their work ... they didn't charge me anything. They recommended I contact the tire manufacturer (not purchased at Les Schwab) about getting replacements. I was extremely impressed. read more

Customer service at it's best. The whole town of ukiah was out of power but my kids and I had to evacuate santa rosa because of the Kincade fire. We got a flat heading north, but this awesome team opened on Monday morning on time with no power and took care of us. Purchased four tires for my car here and they were able to answer all of my questions and had them installed and ready to go in no time for a reasonable price... OK this sounds like the most lame stock review as if an algo wrote it but how exciting and engaging can a tire service center be?! IT CHANGED MY LIFE! Uhm.... no but they did change my tires and that's what I was looking for. Additionally I was there yesterday and they rotated them and rebalanced them. Woo hoo! They now do oil changes but it was too steep for me @ $60 - if you can get that price to a more competitive range or explain why I am paying nearly twice as much as local competitors I might consider it. read more

Do not bring your vehicle here. They are notorious for charging you for parts you don't need and for doing a terrible job. We had new tires and a lift kit installed on our truck. They use after market third party parts, very low quality. Within weeks the left ball joint was completely worn and the right hood needed replacing. They did not do the installation properly. We noticed a squeaking whenever we turned left immediately after installing. We called within the 30 day period TWICE and we're assured that since we called before the 30 days were up, the warranty would be honored and all necessary repairs done without charge. Since we use our vehicle for work, we could not bring it in before the 30 days, we brought it in less than 5 days after the 30 days were up, believing what we were told by 2 different people over the phone, that the complaint was in our file and just bring the truck in when we could. They DID NOT honor their verbal agreement AND tried to charge us for parts we DID NOT need! We took the truck to the local dealership and they examined our vehicle and told us what was really going on. They also told us Les Schwab is NOTORIOUS for over charging customers for work they don't need. I will NEVER do business with them again. I suggest you look elsewhere for what you need. When it comes to cars, I'm sure I have a neon light flashing behind me that reads: SHE DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS THING SHE IS DRIVING, BEYOND INSERTING KEY AND SHIFTING GEARS..... CHA-CHING!!!! My point is anything auto is NOT my strong point. I rely solely on my auto-knowledgeable friends to steer me in the correct direction! So, armed with the knowledge that I needed to replace only my front tires, but not my back.... I was off to tire shop. (btw, a big thanks to auto-knowledgeable-friend-Dan!) Les Schwab sales guy probably saw my neon sign, but he promptly ignored it and without hesitation pointed out that I only needed to replace my front two tires. He explained my buying options, and provided me with a printout listing the prices and warranties of each tire option. He was polite and answered my questions without trying to influence my purchase. This friendly-HONEST-no-hard-sale-attitude is why I happily give them five stars. Buying tires for my car was something that I was dreading.... but they made it painless and easy! read more

I was heading to the Bay Area from Eureka on Friday, January 8. I put air in my tire in Fortuna and by the time I got to Garberville, I needed more air. It was approximately 4pm. The closest tire shop I could find that was open past 5pm was this Les Schwab in Ukiah, 90 miles away. So, I filled up my tire with air and headed on the 90 mile trek, hoping my tire would hold up. When I called, I spoke to Rachelle (please forgive me if I misspelled that) and she promised me that they would stay open til I got there so they could help me (GPS had me arriving at 5:42, but you know how unreliable those things can be). I rolled into Les Schwab in Ukiah at 5:50pm on a Friday night. Who else would be happy to see me when I rolled in with 10 minutes til closing? Not very many people; but Rachelle and the team at Les Schwab were very happy to help me. Within 20 minutes from the time I parked, my tire had been fixed, a patch was applied for $14 (these were not Les Schwab tires) and I was on my way. These days it's difficult to find a business that is willing to help during normal business hours, let alone go above and beyond like this team did to make sure I got home safe. I arrived to my home in the Bay Area around 8:30pm on Friday night and haven't had a problem with the tire since. I will forever be grateful to this team for being so helpful and courteous. read more

Both tire places I regularly take tire work were closed. So I brought my two new tires to Ukiah Les Schwab service area along with two rims to have old sumitomo tires removed and replaced with sumitomo for rear of my GT Mustang. I had previously inquired at Les Schwab about purchasing same sumitomo tries and they said they could not get the size. And offered to sell me some Good years @ over $400 each. I ordered my tires from on line high performance mustang site for $320 for two. My concern is why I was charged $70 to get 2 tires changed and balanced? I was not offered my old tires which I always take home with me for use on landscape project on my property. Other tire shops charge $25-$40 for same service when I bring tires and rims in and they are not on car. So if the rear wheels and tires were still on car God only knows how much that would have costs extra? After the shock of paying $70 for service above-I will not go to Les Schwab in Ukiah again. I have had good service at Willits store and better prices. read more
