Ah it has been 5 years since I last reviewed this spot and little has changed We come in for the local items we have yet to t leave disappointed. We continue to buy the Humboldt Bay Coffee ($18 for a 2.5 pound bag) and a 2 pound bag of Black Oak Coffee Roasters for the same price. Both are excellent In addition they have a good selection of Mendocino Spirits and I highly recommend their Low Gap Bourbon. AS with many things we do we have some rules that help us get out of Costco with our pocketbooks and dignity intact: 1) NEVER EVER go in hungry. That 25 gallons of dill pickle chips is much easier to resist on a full stomach.... true story there. 2) Avoid the free samples. People seem to lose their minds with this stuff. They abandon carts with crying babies, block isles, etc all to get that tiny portion of hummus. I have been shoved aside by someone desperate to get a free piece of cheese. Honestly I have seen more dignity from actual starving people in a disaster zone but I digress. 3) Avoid the weekends like the plague. 4) See #1 5) Go often. Costco uses alot of psychology and the fear of missing out is one of them. Odd items you must have pop up then go never to return. I CAN'T MISS OUT AGGGGGGG 6) Know your codes: At costco any price ending in 0.97 means it has been marked down. Any price that is not a 0.99 or .97 such as say 0.49 means it has a manufacturers discount. and price with an * on it means its done and will not be reordered so stock up. If it ends in a .00 or a 0.88 a manager has reduced the price at that location to clear it out. 7) When in an unfamiliar city head to the Costco. They always stock local items you can't find at yours (like two pounds of single origin Kona coffee for 30.00 at the Kilaua / Kona store etc.) and have cheap gas. read more

The Costco in Ukiah is so much better than the one in Santa Rosa IMHO and my only wish is that it was closer to where we live. Whenever we go up north, we make a point to stop by here on the way back to Sonoma County. The quality and quanity of products is amazing at this store and the prices, like all Costco stores, are amazing. There are so many good deals and this place is very well stocked. The store is very clearn and well organized so it's easy to find what you are looking for and it's not that crowded, which makes this an excellent experience. The service is excellent and everyone working there is friendly and courteous. The check out process is fast and seamless as well, which was very convenient and nice. I also love that the parking lot is large so you will find plenty of parking! There is a gas station right next to it if you are looking to fill up your car for a great price! I can't say enough good things about this place and highly recommend! read more

Perfect location to stop by to get some gas and shop for a few items: which is adjacent to US 101Highway. There was plenty of parking and the warehouse wasn't that crowded. This Costco is very nice in this small city; employees and manager are courteous and helpful. will be back here next time while I'm on a road trip. read more

Convenient location for tourists and the local small towns of Mendocino County! It's right off Redwood Highway. They have Costco Gas here as well with plenty of pumps and a big parking lot. It does get busy but doesn't seem to be as busy as other Costco locations, which is nice. Less crowd = less stress, more parking spaces! Overall this Costco is pretty clean and organized, but seems like some customers will leave items in aisles that don't belong. The bf and I saw an open container of berries and mushrooms in dried goods aisle. Such a waste of food! Please don't do that and respect the store. Loved all the food samples the day we went! The clothing selection was also nice! Good outerwear for the season. Had a quick checkout and the employee was nice. Of course, will come back again with the bf once I'm in the area. read more

Never been to this Ukiah Costco location. I'm super glad it's here, I was thinking Ukiah was a small little town before I got here, not big enough to have it's own Costco ... so I'm happy, even more so cause it just across the street from the hotel we're staying at. I've used the gas station here already, gone early so there's no lines and the food court for a easy dinner run for me and the crew ... Costco Pizza! The rest of the store pretty much looks like all the rest of the Costcos I've been to with the meats in the back along with the $5.00 rotisserie chickens! I got 3 and that fed the crew! Costco across the street makes life so easy! The checkers and food court people were all nice and friendly, I'll be back before I leave town! read more

First time at this Costco. It was a Saturday unfortunately so it was very busy. All the handicap spots were taken which is hard when you have a wheelchair to deal with. The employees I came in contact with were helpful and pleasant. An appointment was made in the hearing aid section by one of us and the service there was unacceptable. We drove an hour and had an appointment but the hearing aid was not fitted or tested at all. Just pick up and pay and you are on your own!?!?!? Terrible. This is the reason for 3 stars. The layout was typical, shelves were stocked well. The clothing section is confusing. The women area and kids area is mixed making it hard to look for just the women clothing. Noticed there was very little seating in the food court. Another reason for the 3 stars. Makes me appreciate my Costco at home. read more

Hi, I just went to the store to get some groceries with my daughter and son in law then we became hungry at the end of the shopping trip, so we decided to get a hotdog there because we heard there were so good so we did and they asked if we wanted onions for it, so we said yes. We took our stuff home to enjoy it. My surprise was when we opened the onion container there were spoiled all containers. Costco is recognized for selling good quality of products and I guess fresh prepared food as well. If someone please check more often the fresh products before offering to the public that would be great and many of us would appreciate it! This is just about the fast food section please. read more

Was present for the pre opening food tasting. I started shopping as soon as it opened. There were some prices that weren't working but was soon fixed. I remember anxiously awaiting the years long approval that it took to get built. It is a medium sized Costco compared to the larger cities that I have shopped at. Much better than Santa Rosa's in the sense that lines are much shorter and parking is easier to find - but I'm guessing that's population based as opposed to a better system or something; A Costco is a Costco is a Costco am I right? I will say though this one does stand out bc the staff has been very helpful and nice. An associate stopped stocking a shelf to help me pick out a tv and prep it for me, I've had nice chats with the staff serving samples and the food court folk work really hard to keep up on the orders. Mmmm chicken bakes! I also suggest this particular Costco because it's a budget friendly (depending on what you buy) way to avoid the intensity of the ukiah summer sun. Lots of AC and cold produce and dairy areas to cool off while browsing for bulk things you never knew you needed. My friend says she doesn't go to Costco with a list- she lets Costco decide. Haha I've been to this one a few times now and for the most part it's very clean and easy to find stuff - though on this particular outing I did come upon a stray Humpty Dumpty stranded on an aisle unattended for quite some time (see pic). Purchased a new generator in Vegas. Hit the road for camping in the redwoods for a week. The generator ran great until the rain started coming down. ( thank you cyclone bomb ) I had to call every Costco in California to find the generator to replace. Found it ( unfortunately) in Ukiah . They said they would hold it at the front desk for us and we drove through torrential flooding . I waited at customer service desk to find the generator was sold - but they had the display on the shelf. I had to step outside to tell the hubby that I needed to go get the generator from the shelf. I had to rally a couple of the employees to come help me get the generator off the upper shelf. They were very helpful if not disorganized and VERRY SLOW TO reply to my needs. As they didn't allow me to return and purchase the generator in one transaction. So hubby returned the old one and I stood in the 3rd line of the day. To purchase the new unit. This unit was missing all the accessories ( rain cover , wheels , and 30 amp piggy tail . Grace the employee was standing nearby the self desk. I asked if they could help find the missing items. Grace said that tomorrow's shipment brought 10 more units . I told her I was traveling through town and she said she didn't care. I could take what they offered ( and have half the essential supplies missing ) or leave it. I reiterated that the items are essential and she refused to listen or discuss. Back to wait for someone else to help me ring the item ( since it didn't have a box to scan ) finally got the new generator loaded and paid for. And had to go find some more help with moving it into the truck. Miserable people in a dinky little town. read more

Prices are not that great, products are shoddy, vendors sometimes are lying and the: Employees!! OMG, the people they find to work in Ukiah tend to be pretty rude, disrespectful, unhelpful and just plain arseholes... I refuse to buy gas there, as it's cheaper elsewhere, and the store features some nasty employees who don't seem to care if you are there at all... In retail, it usually pays to treat the customers with a touch of respect and dignity, and especially Senior Citizens, who could make or break COSTCO... This store is not recommended, my urge to shop at COSTCO is approaching absolute zero, and it the lowest common denominator in bad service and highly rated if you like rude service... Love Costco. Coming from Socal where getting gas is a 15-20 minute commitment every time, Costco in Ukiah is great. Every other department at this Costco is great, except for one. The employees at the food court are some of the most incompetant individuals I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Every time I go to Costco (once every week or two, so a lot) I will get food from the food court. Less than $10 for dinner? Sign me up. Almost every time I've gone, the employees are so inefficient and manage to mess up something in my order. Today: I ordered at the self kiosk as I usually do. I got in line. It's just one other family and myself in line. The people in front of me ordered a chicken bake but they ran out of chicken bakes. The employee (female) told them that could get a refund. Cool. Good customer service. Another family comes up to the in person ordering line and the same employee tells them that she needs her coworker to process the order because she doesn't have training on the register or something. Cool. All fine and dandy with me. Chicken bake family decides to send the son to the self check kiosk to order other food while they wait for a supervisor to order food. Cool. The line starts getting longer. At this point there were 3 or 4 other groups behind us waiting for food. Now the smart and efficient thing would be to serve the other people who already paid for food instead of making everyone wait for a supervisor but no. We sat in line for ~10 minutes waiting for the people in front to get a refund. Finally got to the front and I handed my ticket to the other employee (male). Hot dog, 1 slice of pepperoni, and a latte. There's 2 slices of peperoni left. Employee made my hot dog then started making my latte. I order the latte because the mocha has chocolate syrup on it which I don't want. I told him "no chocolate" and as soon as he turns around, he starts pumping chocolate syrup into my cup. Great. This is the second time with this specific employee where I've ordered a latte and he's pumped chocolate into my cup. I didn't say anything last time because its not that big of a deal, but at this point I've waited 10-15 minutes for some food. As this male employee turned around to hand me my latte, the female employee started helping the group behind me. Of course they ordered 2 pepperoni slices. I told the male employee that I asked for no chocolate syrup and that I ordered the latte. He said he saw mocha so he turned around to remake my drink. The female employee grabbed the two last slices of pepperoni and handed it to the people behind me. The male employee hands me my non chocolate latte and says oh there's no more pepperoni are you okay with cheese? I hate wasting people's time even more than necessary so I say whatever I'll take it just so the people behind me don't have to wait any longer. I didn't want to cause another supervisor refund fiasco for everyone behind me. Ended up giving the slice of cheese pizza to a nice gentleman sitting at the tables. I don't care about the money or necessarily the fact that i didn't get the food I wanted. It was like 5 bucks, whatever. It's the fact that these food court employees seem to always mess something up. This isn't the first time an employee has put chocolate in my cup for the latte or the ice cream when I specifically order the version without chocolate. If this employee didn't mess up my drink like he does every time, I would have gotten my pepperoni pizza that I waited 10-15 minutes for. This isn't the first time a similar situation has occurred when I'm in line at the food court. Please Costco. I don't know if the food court employees are the most entry positions or the rejects that couldn't hack it at the registers, but please train these people better. I get that the food court gets busy and it can get hectic at times. However, when the same issues happen over and over, it needs to be addressed. Every other department seems to have everything in order, but the food court is atrocious. Also, the male employee who helped me took cash from the family in front of me, didn't change gloves, and then started manhandling my hot dog bun. If anybody ever in life needs a lesson in customer service, I suggest they come here and learn from one of the guys who works in the meat department. His name is Javier. I don't know that I have ever seen such great customer service from an individual in a big box retailer like this. Understandably Service has gotten worse everywhere due to the lack of people wanting to work and learn. But clearly My Man Javier is gone the extra mile. I'm from the East Coast where there's southern hospitality and it doesn't measure up to the level of customer service that I got today. Give that man a raise! read more

I've been to the optometry 4 times, every time I was treated very rudely and made to feel like their lack of knowledge about their job is my fault. The first time I went I had an optometry appointment and that went OK. They made the glasses that I picked out and I went back two weeks later to pick them up. The lady who helped me refused to adjust my glasses correctly and blamed it on my eyebrows being crooked. I've never had this problem before in my 58 years of wearing glasses. I could tell they weren't right from the beginning, but I lived with them for less than a month before I went back. The vision was distorted and I got another appointment. The optometrist insisted I could see and she tried to blame me also. Finally, she came up with a new prescription and I got new glasses, then picked them up a couple weeks later and have been living with them for a few months. I went today to get them adjusted because they were very crooked. One side was much lower than the other from normal wear and tear. The lady who helped me today had no idea how to adjust glasses and she kept bending them until they were so distorted and crooked . One side was at least half an inch higher than the other. She insisted that they had to be crooked to look straight on me. Once again, I've never had this problem before. She was finally able to get them fairly straight. I left very unhappy and said I would just go someplace else. I lived in Tracy and went there for many years and the service there was awesome. I feel like the staff at the Ukiah Optometry doesn't know what they are doing so they get angry at the customer because they don't know how to fix the problem. I will never go back there again and do not recommend them ever to anyone. read more

DO NOT BUY GLASSES FROM THESE BOZOS!! Bought a new pair of glasses frame and lenses. Less than a week later the screw came out and the lens fell out. The quality is of the frames is awful. Spend more money somewhere else and get better quality. Lesson learned. read more

In the small town Costco was great. I did not have to wait that long in line to get my tire fixed. Before we came here the tire puncture happened in the driveway of Walmart the service member of the tire department was very friendly help us out and we got it done for a great price as well read more

I am an executive member and gave my rewards check to the cashier at Costco. He tracked me down after I was in the parking lol and Apologized he had forgotten to use it. He was genuinely sorry. I live far away but on my return visit I handed Norma Rae at the Ukiah Costco the rewards check and explained to her my last situation and asked her to make sure she used it today 3:30 Sunday October 1. She took it rudely and said" well that's because you hand it and now See, I have to work with one hand!!" "Don't hand it to us until you're ready to pay!" I was shocked that she scolded me for giving her my rewards check an inconveniencing her. She could have set it to the side or whatever..not act like I was doing something wrong. Clean and spacious Costco. It's a breath of fresh air from the Costco's in the the Bay Area. There was a decent amount of shoppers on a Sunday, but it didn't feel that way. This location is a couple years old and still looks brand new. Hopefully it stays that way. The set up is similar to the Costco in Richmond. They have a great selection of clothes and coffee including local Black Oak Coffee Roasters. The staff I interacted with at check out and the customer service counter were friendly. I will come back for another shopping trip the next time I am in Ukiah. read more

Came in here to do some shopping after a Dentist appointment. I ordered a pizza at the register. I went over by the food counter and tried to tell Brandon that I was just waiting for my Large pizza and he said "I can't hear a thing your saying" to which him and his counter part laughed at. I guess my mouth still was number and I wasn't speaking well. I said forget it, went and unloaded my groceries because I knew it took 15 minutes for a pizza to be done. After 15 min of standing waiting by the whole pizza pick up window someone finally asked me if they can help me. Turns out they didn't even start to make my pizza and now I am standing here waiting another 15 minutes while the frozen food in my vehicle continues to thaw out. This happened on 5/16/22 around 5pm. Ukiah finally got a Costco! They had their grand opening today. The Ukiah store is designed slightly differently than any other store I have been in and I think the changes are smart ones. The staff is very friendly and glad to be here. They have a gas station here and a tire center. Their food court offers burgers. I've never seen a Costco with burgers. They have a new walk-in dairy section (along with a different walk-in for produce). Gas at Costco is cheaper than anywhere else in town. Their pizzas are $10. The rotisserie chicken is bigger than the ones you get in the grocery store and cheaper too! They have my favorite trail mix, Prana Kilimanjaro! I am very happy to finally have a Costco in Ukiah! read more

I came in wearing a political t-shirt and a bagger obviously was squinting her eyes to read it. When finished she gave me a dirty look of disapproval. Last month while shopping with our 2 year old grandson, at the Ukiah Costco, he had a urine accident. He made a puddle which was quite embarassing. Two very considerate employee men responded quickly and cleaned up the mess. They were very professional and helped us without making us feel like we were putting them out. What can you say, It is a Costco with cheap gas prices, much cheaper than Rohnert Park. I came for the gas but I discovered Laura Chenel cheese from Sonoma at the Rohnert Park Costco. I am always anxious to try local cheeses and the Laura Chenel cheese is a winner and NOT available at the SF Costco. Now the selection here is not as good as Rohnert Park but this store had what I was looking for and it saved me an extra stop. It is a relatively easy on/off from 101 BUT my garmin must have been off that day. It said that I was there when I wasn't there so if you are unfamiliar with the area, have someone keep an eye open for the big Costco sign. read more

DO NOT GO TO COSTCO optical for eye checks. Had an appointment this past week, they exam your eyes in the same room where people are coming and going asking questions. Small room, no masks on the people coming in, scary. Also, the doctor was not on location, he checks your eyes from LA. Scary. Don't waste your time. This review is for the tire center. Just spent $83 to buy 24 new lug nuts to replace those that had the heads stripped at Costco. Looks like someone used a 22 mm socket instead of the correct 21 mm and stripped the heads. Discovered this problem when trying to change a tire and the factory supplied lug wrench wouldn't fit the lug heads. Fortunately I had my full metric socket set with me so was able to remove the nuts with the larger size socket. Also, the nuts were over torqued; the standard is 150 ft lbs and whoever torqued them must have used 180 to 200. ft lbs. read more

We made a appointment for a eye exam at Costco as we previously did 2 years ago! When we made the appointment they asked if w had insurance an we said no and then made a virtual appointment. We had a young employee who was in training d the exam and the optometrist was on a Computor screen. This Costco was great, we stopped by to grab wine but my fiancé decided to get some stuff for the road trip. Unfortunately, the pizza staff lacks a significant amount of empathy and customer skills. As I was the only person waiting in line to be assisted the man who was behind the counter, I believe cleaning the area told the pizza attendant: hurry up my lady is hungry! Me being a overweighted person didn't appreciate the joke. Then the girl was laughing with him like he found it funny. I was amazed for both demeanors were rude and immature. When I was finally asked what was my order about and said it, the guy started make fun of someone's voice and proceeded to call "her lady" Bertha. Then the pizza lady tried to make it seem like he was talking about someone else and it was obvious they were making fun of me. Not nice at all. Please Costco people.
