We've been going to Lesha's dog grooming for a nail trim for about 11 months. Our dog is super anxious about toenail trims, anal gland checks, and anything that pokes or feels uncomfortable. We've tried several times with Banfield Hospital because she is on their pet plan. But once she passed her year on the puppy plan and went less frequently, her anxiety PTSD got worse. She started to struggle whenever they needed to give her a shot, trim her toenails, or check her anal glands. My hair stylist recommended this place because she also has a high-maintenance pup. I called ahead to see if they could squeeze her in and explained our difficult history with other places. And they assured me that they specialize in high-anxiety or aggressive dog personalities. Lesha has a good energy about her that my dog Hanni can sense. She's a good pup, but she just fears what's being done to her and whimpers or pees with fear. I came in and was immediately greeted by the super friendly staff. I got to check out some of her shop's crystals. She had a fantastic spring cleaning sale and gave me a steal on a couple of gorgeous citrine spheres with rainbows! And guess what? She also managed to trim my dog's toenails super quickly, so she came to our rescue. My dog has gotten used to her. We have her go on a walk beforehand to make her tired + give her some Zen treats. I took my very nervous, sweet,rescued Havanese for a bath and haircut. When I picked her up she was a shivering mess. The haircut was pretty bad, very chunky and uneven. No transitions.between layers, like I did it..She also still had a doggy smell and some kind of white powder on her. I called them later to ask whether she had been bathed, they insisted she had, twice,(?) why twice? But ask d if I wanted to bring her back in for a bath. The last thing she needed was to go back and be traumatized more. It was also very expensive for a small dog. She may have had a few mats, but I had brushed her pretty well beforehand. My main issue, she didn't smell, feel or look like a freshly twice(!) shampooed dog. I won't be going back. read more

I have an antsy 15 year old mini poodle rescue and she's never been thrilled to go to the groomer. Lesha handled her with love and care and was very patient with her. When I took her in she looked like she was getting ready to go to a 2008 Paramore concert... swept bangs and all. Now she can see again and her hair is evenly cut all around. "We had 20 dogs to groom" that's not an excuse for poor service. If I told my customers "I had 20 cars to work on. That's why I couldn't fix it right and you had to come back" is a piss poor excuse. I adopted a dog from the Humane Society that is animal aggressive. Knowing this, it's been a bit hard to find a place that we could take her to get her nails trimmed. We found this place and called to speak to the owner to inform her that our dog was animal aggressive and if there was any way to separate her or to trim her nails away from the other dogs. She said confidently that she has worked with animal aggressive dogs before and it would be no problem. I was super excited; my sisters and I brought our dog to her appointment and checked her in. I thought the appointment went well with a few warning barks but nothing too crazy. We had said our goodbyes and we thought she did so good with our dog so my sister went back in to tip her and her helper. My sister went through the door in mid-conversation between the owner and her helper. Lesha was saying something along the lines of "That dog is gonna kill someone someday. They better do something about that." My sister noticed the helper try to tell Lesha that she should stop talking but she kept talking shit when finally she turned around and saw my sister at the door. Lesha was flabbergasted and did not have anything to say. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. LESHA IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNKIND. DO NOT TRUST HER OR GIVE HER YOUR BUSINESS! read more

I tried Lesha's today after searching for groomers near me. My doodle was very matted and I knew we were going to need to shave her all the way down. Lesha was extremely kind and cut and bathed my doodle. At other places my dog would be extremely stressed with the environment and she didn't have the same behavior here. I have moved ALLLLL over the US (literally) and I can honestly say lesha does some of the best work I've had experienced. My German Shepherd is a big boy! He's also extremely hairy and sheds allll the time so a de-shed treatment monthly is absolutely necessary. I have had experiences where my dog seems to be shedding more after I get him back! Lesha alwaysssss returns Trojan back to me looking so handsome and smelling nice! The de-shed is fairly priced (plus a full bath) and I love that he comes home with a cutie little bandana. This is how my dog was returned to me I am so Disappointed and disgusted he is bleeding in multiple places.. his nails were cut to short which also were bleeding. I didn't pick up my dog because I was working but my mom did and she told what happened I was in shock and so angry I told her there is no way you paid for this. He was supposedly bathed but he doesn't even smell nice like shampoo. This review is based on our first and only visit. We took in three dogs to get groomed and the lice treatment. One large (greater than 100 lbs), one medium (35lbs), and one small (under 5 lbs.) We paid somewhere from 150-200 (which is actually a pretty decent price for what we thought we were getting) When we got the dogs back, it wasn't apparent if the lice treatment was applied and the tiniest dog still smelled of urine. Mind you, I am not a professional groomer--but smell seems to be a decent acid test. read more

I would recommend not giving this place a try. After about 8 visits that declined every time. First cut was awesome. Always took wayyyy longer then told. They change prices without prior notice. This past experience was nothing short of a disappointment. Bad haircut, bad customer service, 20% price raise. Broken debit card machine. Two trips to pick them up since they were an hour and half past said time. Then they wanted to charge me extra for keeping them past closing time. I'm all about small business and a good hustle. However that doesn't mean hustling your clients. Not to mention the fact that they hadn't been able to use the restroom. Please find a groomer who operates safely and under practices. read more

I recently took one of my dogs here and though I did not get the cut that I had asked for, I appreciated that they were able to get us in quickly without having to wait for weeks. Today, I took my other dog in for the first time. I talked to the front desk staff person about her haircut because she had recently had surgery and had some mats on her. We agreed that she would need to be shaved rather than trying to get them out. 5 minutes after I dropped her off, the staff person, Lissa?, called me to tell me that there would be a $20-40 mat charge added to the $85. I could understand if I were asking to have the matts taken out and still give a nice haircut, but not if you are shaving my dog. I told her that the owner had done my other dogs haircut and did not charge for any mats. She said I had gotten lucky. I felt like I was being hussled. I told her I would come get my dog. Not 5 minutes later I called back to tell them to go ahead because i could not miss my next work meeting in order to go back to pick her up. I was told that they had given my appointment away already and I needed to pick up my dog. Even after I told them I could not leave work again, they insisted that they would not provide the haircut and I needed to come pick her up. The attitude that accompanied this conversation just added insult to injury. My husband had to leave a meeting to go get her and they told him that I had been on the phone when I came in and that was why they didn't tell me about the fee. They neglected to tell him that I had put my phone call on hold, muted my conversation and bent down on the floor with her and my dog to discuss her haircut. This was some of the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. read more

I love these groomers. They have like 8 of their own dogs that they bring to the shop and my dog likes hanging out there. They do a great job. They clip the nails and my dog used to be afraid before we started going here but not any more! Very friendly with great prices. And they don't leave your dog cooped up in a cage for hours! Our dogs do not fear the bath at all...they are very good. My youngest yorkie was so nervous when I first started bathing her at home, but since going to groomers she no longer freaks when I bath get. A ++++ read more

Called hoping to get Leisha but got day she was off. Drop my pet off for a full grooming, price was reasonable but after I picked my dog up discover he was totally tramatized. I've been going to Lesha for 10 years now. Starting with my Cocker Spaniel for 8 years and now my Havenese for almost 2. My Cocker was quite timid but ended up being pretty comfortable there even with all the other dogs. My Havanese, which I rescued at five years old didn't trust me or anyone else. The result was a little dog with a not so nice disposition. It took 1 1/2 years but Lesha got him comfortable and now he's an angel with her. I have had dogs that need to be groomed for over 30 years and have used many groomers in the past. I found Balanced when they were in Fife and loved how good they are with our dogs, when they moved to Tacoma I made the commute from Federal Way for a while but decided to find a groomer in Federal Way. Bad decision, our Scottie who had only been groomed at Balanced and had no issues started having anxiety when going to the other groomer.
