Awesome place to go, it was highly recommended by a lady I met at the Lacey dog park and everything she told me was true. The staff was friendly, professional, affordable, and very gentle with my dog. The only down side is they are so booked with appointments that it took a month to be seen. I guess that comes with A+ service and affordable prices. This is my dog new groomer. It was well worth the wait.

We have had great experiences at Tacoma's Best Pet Grooming. We have been customers for over a year and recommend them to others. I was hesitant at first with several poor Yelp reviews about their shop, but that was never our experience with our labradoodle. They were fantastic! Be sure to ask if you want your pup's tail trimmed (they don't do it for our dog and I wish they would.) No website or online booking. Ample parking options. Other than that, clean, prompt service!

This is what had been done to our 16 year old boarder collie who couldn't walk in the first place.

Zero stars! Should be called Tacoma's Worst! For the second time in a row we picked up our old 16 year old dog with injuries! I called to inquire & they yelled at me and berated my dog for being old! I would have no stars here of I could.

    Anatomy of dog paw

I've only been here twice now. Both times for nail trimmings on my pup. First time they took him back and I didn't see how it went but everything checked out and was ok afterwards. This second visit I held him myself while they clipped his nails and somehow someway the woman clipping his nails clipped his carpal pads that do not have a nail. I didn't pay close attention to her clipping because; A. I assumed she's a groomer and knows what she's doing B. I was completely focused on trying to calm him down because this doesn't seem to be an easy task for him to endure. The carpal pad is the highest pad up on a dogs (front) forelimbs. I don't know if this young woman was just going too fast and it was an accident or deliberate or why it happened. I did not notice immediately, but when I got him home I noticed some red on my backseat where he sits for car rides and checked and saw that the corners of these carpal pads were clipped. I don't know if this is a common thing for groomers to clip or why but I called my vet and they said that pad shouldn't be clipped there is no nail attached to it. I have tried calling this shop since but cannot reach anyone when I do so. I hope they see this, I'd like an explanations to why this lady clipped my poor puppies carpal pads. He's confined to a cone and bandages until they heal and uncomfortable. Not ideal situation for a healthy puppy. Attached picture isn't of his own, just for reference of what the carpal pad is and where on the leg it is.

Just got our cats back from here and one came back with a bloody paw and I checked it out and all the nails in the front are cut way too short and look splintered!!! Not ok!! I'm not sure how the other cats nails look because she is currently hiding under the bed, per usual. No one wants to see their animal come back from the groomers with injuries! Obviously the person who cut the nails has little to no experience or there's no way they could have done this bad on multiple nails. Will not be coming back

Deep cuts under the belly and armpits!! Uneven spots all over the body. Definitely not worth the $38.00

I found K9 Grooming through Yelp and I'm so glad I did. We drive 30 minutes to get here and I won't lie, the salon is pricey. It usually costs me around $300 with trip for a standard Aussie and mini Aussie regular groom. But it is absolutely worth it. My dogs are my babies. We have a 6-year-old Aussie we've had since he was a puppy, and we recently added our rescue mini Aussie who is now 8. Our rescue has extreme anxiety from her past trauma, including living in a hoarding situation. The team here treats both of our dogs like family. I've never once worried about the way they're cared for. The salon is spotless. Anytime I walk into a grooming place that smells like urine or feces or is chaotic with constant barking, it's an instant red flag for me. K9 Grooming is completely different. It's clean, calm, and you can even watch your dogs being groomed so there's no mystery about how they're treated. Recently our neighbor warned us about fleas in the area, so I called K9 as a concerned pet mom. They were so helpful. They told me they'd start with a regular bath and, if they found any fleas, they'd do the treatment and call us so we could prep the house. Sure enough, they found a few a went forward with the flea bath. They provided me with helpful information and next steps. I sincerely appreciate the level of care, transparency, and customer service the staff provide. I could never take my dogs anywhere else after coming here.

Australian shepherds have very thick double coats, she requires grooming at least every six weeks. From the front desk, all the way back to the groomers they're always so professional, and Mila is always so extremely eager and happy to go there; that says so much. I've had my fair share of very bad grooming experiences, with this very dog. K9 Design Grooming Salon has changed my perspective and Mila's perspective on grooming experiences. We used to live extremely close to the Salon, but we recently bought a house in Olympia and still make the drive! We love K9 Design Grooming!!

We took our 7-month-old Dachshund puppy, Chewy, to Soggy Doggy yesterday evening for a nail trim shortly before closing time, and unfortunately, the experience was very upsetting for both our puppy and us. During the nail trim, Chewy yelped multiple times in discomfort, which immediately concerned us. What stood out most to me was that the same nail appeared to be trimmed repeatedly several times, and each time Chewy reacted more anxiously and vocally. As a pet owner, I found it difficult to watch, and it left me feeling uncomfortable about the handling process. I understand that puppies can sometimes be nervous during grooming, and nail trims are not always easy. However, we have previously taken Chewy to other grooming establishments, including Petco and PetSmart, for nail trims and have never experienced this level of distress from him before. I was also surprised that during the nail trim, we were asked questions about Chewy's diet and food choices. While I understand businesses may offer additional services or products, I personally felt that the focus at that moment should have remained on carefully completing the nail trim and ensuring our puppy was comfortable and calm. At the end of the appointment, Chewy also left with a noticeable hangnail. We declined the nail buffing add-on service, but even so, I did not expect his nails to be left in that condition after the trim. Overall, this experience left us questioning the level of handling, training, and attention to pet comfort during grooming services. As pet owners, we trust groomers and staff with the safety and well-being of our animals, and unfortunately, this visit did not leave us feeling confident. Because of this experience, we will not be returning with Chewy in the future. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as gentle handling, professionalism, and pet comfort are extremely important, especially with young puppies who are still learning to trust grooming experiences.

I was told she was offered a great deal for the rental and some homemade dog treats. Parking was a bit confusing as the parking nearby the business was full and there was a spot that we think was free to use but not sure. As we entered, we were greeted by a staff member who let us in and the space is huge! There were plenty of toys, a dog pool, and little obstacles for dogs to enjoy to their hearts' content! They even have a hose to fill up the pool or just have your dogs chase around. There were little cubbies and lots of areas to hang leashes, coats, and other stuff on. They had Youtube videos playing too. The dog treats were so creative. They had cannoli, biscuits, and much more. All of our dogs seemed to have enjoy the treats greatly, no treats were left behind. All of the dogs seemed to be enjoying themselves as they just had so much to do or other dogs to play with. Definitely look forward to coming back here to throw future dog parties as our group loves to do little events for our fur babies.

It made me wonder about the ratio balance between humans vs dogs. I had dropped my dog off for a behavioral assessment, as we have trips coming up and I'm looking for boarding care. This is not where I'm personally comfortable leaving my pup, as the ratio seemed to be 1 human to 15 or 20 dogs in an indoor-only, less than 1500sq foot space. The good news is they are so kind and nice humans, if I was rating them they'd earn 5+++ stars as I'd leave my dog in their care anytime! The problem I had was the physical space (super tiny!) and the ratio of dogs, as they allowed 3 or 4 pups to greet my dog while 15 or so were in a hallway-type space patiently waiting and sooooo well-behaved, to greet and play. The space for playing is very limited, about 1/2 the size of a classroom, and while it's clean and the staff are super lovely, it's probably not the best fit for our pup who loves to play fetch and run. Parking is also super tricky in this neighborhood, as there isn't a parking lot or spaces reserved for the business.
