We had a deeply upsetting experience with Wet Nose and feel compelled to share our story so others can make informed decisions. We adopted our dog after being told she was completely healthy with no medical concerns. Within 24 hours of bringing her home, she became critically ill and required three days of emergency hospitalization for severe infection, dehydration, and significant weight loss. We spent nearly $4,000 in vet bills to save her life. After requesting her medical records (which were only given to us AFTER we adopted her), we learned she had undergone major abdominal surgery just days before adoption, including treatment for a ruptured spleen and torn ligaments. She was prescribed medications that were never provided to us (or even disclosed to us) and her discharge paperwork clearly required 10 days of strict bed rest -- yet we adopted her on day five. She had been transported from Texas through Saving Hope Animal Rescue, and it is unacceptable that a dog recovering from major surgery was transported and placed for adoption without full medical disclosure or proper follow-up care. When we contacted Wet Nose for accountability and assistance with medical bills, they refused to help and claimed they were unaware of her medical history. Any responsible rescue should obtain complete medical records and ensure a dog is medically cleared before adoption. I even contacted local shelters asking if this was standard practice, and they were completely shocked at how this situation was handled. I know we are not the only story of this happening. Please do your research on this shelter, there are hundreds of Instagram, Facebook and reddit stories sharing similar experiences. Sharing my story isn't "online slander," it's transparency and holding people accountable. I love my dog so much and am glad she's on the mend, but this situation is completely unacceptable. This place needs to be closed down. I use to bring my dog there and I finally said no way no more. They have like 50 dogs to 1 handler most of the time. He smelled like urine every day I picked him up. He developed colitis, they allowed him to swallow a poop fillled green bag. He has scars on one of his front legs from some sort of injury he aquired there. After the second time boarding him I received his containers back with some meals still in it and snacks. I had his food and snacks in designated baggys with times to feed and give him snacks so it was not rocket science. You can never get anyone to answer the phone. Picking your pet up is a joke. And what I have read in other postings on diff. sites the injuies to dogs that occur are ridiculous. Mine was also bit and developed cellulits and they denied it. read more

Brought my dog here for a short time in 2020 and can confidently say I am glad I never returned. The employee:dog ratio was absurd -- one employee made a snarky remark about my dog refusing to go potty inside the facility and would "wait to go outside", as if my dog being potty trained was an inconvenience. WNDP and WNLP both absolutely stink of urine. The straw that broke the camel's back was my dog getting kennel cough from the facility, my coworker whose dog goes to daycare on completely separate days ALSO got kennel cough. We reported this to employees, yet Wet Nose Dry Paws made no effort to inform/warn other customers about Kennel Cough spreading around their facility. Not to mention, the animal neglect and lack of safety for both animals/their employees is astounding and well-documented. Placing animals on "kennel arrest" for days on end is never appropriate. Feeding animals less so they would make "less mess in their kennel" is absurd. Would not recommend. If you love your pet, bring your pet somewhere else. read more

Signed up for a grooming appointment for my aussie skylar first time doing it at wet nose and last time same goes for I won't board my dogs here anymore either. Email said it would be a 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm appointment. By 2:35 I hadn't heard anything back from wet nose dry paws so I called. No answer and no answering machine which is odd. Called again no answer. called one more time no answer. so I drove down from my house in gig harbor to see in person what was going on since there was no update and no one answered. By the time I get there I ask how skylar was they told me she still had a hour left. I requested I take skylar now and all they had done in 3 hours is a bath and a blow dry. Literally a joke and they charged me full price $74 plus tip lol now I have a clean brushed dog, no trim no deshedding, no nail trim, and a bandana that's still wrapped in plastic still. It's almost laughable. Highly recommend avoiding this place for your grooming needs they were great for boarding but grooming is clearly not what they are good at neither is communication. If I could give zero stars I would. This place kennels dogs for days at a time and under feeds them so that they do not have to take them out for bathroom breaks. They leave one untrained volunteer with up to 15-20 dogs at a time which is highly stressful for the dogs and volunteers and it is highly unsafe for the volunteer on duty. The owner lies to dog owners if a dog is injured in her care. A dog recently had to be euthanized due to the reactivity the dog developed from the mistreatment and neglect of this facility. Protect your animals and do not bring them here! I've been bringing my dog Taco here since he was 10 weeks old. The staff here has basically been surrogate parents to him. They helped me raise a healthy and happy pup. I love most everything about this place- I live 2 blocks away, so in the rainy months I can hop over and use their indoor dog park and grab a beer while Taco runs around. When I need to board him, they have cageless boarding, which is huge for me because I don't ever want to have to put him in a crate. My review is on the dog park; that being said it's a indoor dog park that's pretty spacious for all sized dogs. My first initial thought when arriving was that there's a oder lingering, kind of a mix of bleach and dog pee. Not really surprised because it is Tacoma...LOL. Aside from that, there's no system for entering (you'll know what i mean if you come here). All the dogs inside gather up by the gate and it's pretty impossible to bring your dog in without letting dogs escape in or out. It was chaos! The workers are really kind and friendly! But on this particular Saturday there were pee and poop everywhere! I was nervous that me or my dog were going to step on it. It would be nice if the owners were more responsible on their dogs business and if the workers kept up with it also. The dog park has fake grass, tons of balls, and a ball pit! Plenty to keep your dog entertained. They also have foster dogs here; some roam around at the dog park. A visit to the park is $15. read more

I want to start this review off with I'm not that "crazy dog mom" but no disrespect if you consider yourself a crazy dog mom. I'm also not the type of person to leave reviews but I'm genuinely upset regarding our dogs boarding experience through this facility. We have been going here for daycare for months to get our German Shepard puppy used to the facility before our vacation. He got two upper respiratory infections directly after a few day care services. The first time we thought "aww he's a puppy building that immune system" but the second time I grew skeptical. We boarded him once prior to our week vacation for a trial run and it seemed to be okay no issues. So come our week long vacation our dog was boarded 9 days and when we picked him up he looked sickly. He lost SO much weight. (Which mind you I knew he would probably lose some weight due to anxiety). But this wasn't no 5 pound weight loss. He lost enough weight where his spine, hip bones, and ribs were all protruding. Our dog is a big boy too around 90 pounds at 10 months. So this was NOT okay and I felt I should have been called or notified or my emergency contact should have been used because it was SO BLATANTLY obvious the weight loss but apparently their only response was "I'm sorry you feel he lost a lot of weight but he didn't appear to have lost weight to any of our staff" When I called they said he was only eating one meal a day (maybe once or twice he ate two meals). They said they notified me in a report card but in the report card they just said he missed a meal and if I had an suggestions to call them. I wasn't made aware he was missing one meal a day basically. We brought a 30lb food container and that lasts our pup a good chunk of time. After the 9 days half of the 30lb container was gone (which at home even if he eats his two meals would not be possible) and he was only eating half of what he normally eats at their facility. Their response when I addressed that was "that I don't have an answer for you." Their policy is to only contact people if their dog misses two meals in a row but clearly it's not that bad of a concern if he's only getting half his normal intake at a 10 month old puppy. She even mentioned weight loss is normal due to him being a puppy with a higher metabolism and burning extra calories at daycare. WHICH ONLY PROVES MY POINT MORE. That I should have been notified via phone call that my dog is eating half his normal amount while burning excess calories. . . Not to mention he has wounds on his elbows . . . That they didn't have an answer for. I'm very disappointed because we enjoyed taking him and letting him play with other dogs. Also some of the staff is very warming and welcoming but our boarding experience was enough for us to not take him Back. Also take a peak at Glassdoor reviews by previous employers . . . A year ago, I would have laughed and rolled my eyes at someone if they told me that their dog was in daycare. When we got our pup, we realized quickly that she is way more energy than our older dogs can tolerate. I am now a total advocate of Doggie Daycare. I anticipated that our pup would come home well exercised and we would get a break to focus on work but it's also helped with socialization, manners, and separation anxiety. She's much better on our walks, around the house, and with other dogs. The staff there really adore dogs. I love peaking in on the live webcams to see how they are doing and seeing the Instagram posts and stories. Our pup loves going there... I can't get the leash off of her fast enough when we arrive. They also have cute events for holidays and birthdays. Last of all, I like that it's an all in one shop. I can schedule to have her groomed, give her a quick bath myself, board her, and buy her favorite treats all as part of her day. Never seen so many animals stuck in cages for hours on end with 1 tiny walk if they are lucky. Dogs dropped weight from 60lbs to 10 in a week. They post all these great lovey photos but they neglect and abuse them with long lasting effects. I've seen how it's affected one personally and with other people hearing they had the same problems and sought immediate medical attention from their vet because of the shape of their animal. Something is off about this place. Just doesn't feel right. Boarded my dog there and she looked shell shocked when I picked her up. Apparently there's a downstairs area that they had to get her from when I picked her up - which she looked paranoid and wanted nothing to do with any other dog passing by - very sad pickup. Their site offers live feed cameras, which is nice, but raised suspicion when I rarely saw my dog in the main room or on any of the feeds. Never saw her playing with other dogs, only walking around to use the bathroom as if she had been let out just to do so and then tucked away. My dog normally goes to a different daycare twice a week and plays around with all the other dogs tirelessly non stop all day. Upon pickup her leash somehow vanished and I got no answers about that. This place has an interesting review pattern. its very hot or cold. I think if you read those reviews you get a decent sense of both the positives and negatives of this place. Its nice, but its definitely not perfect. I dont have a ton of full on complaints, I think I only have one really. And I think I have a concern/note as well. But its not bad by any means and I still probably recommend it. There are two things about this place that make it amazing especially for this area. One additional for me, but that experience will vary. The most important things is that its an indoor daycare in washington state. This means even if its raining you can take your dog here. Thats very important considering the area and the amount of rain. The second important thing for us is the fact that they are open on the weekends. This has allowed us to complete projects over the weekend especially if our dog was a little too excited about us nailing and hammering things. This is clutch for us. The third thing is once again only nice if you are within a specific range, but they are close to our house. Our primary daycare is 20 mins away without traffic and are not open all weekends. And secondary is 30ish mins away without traffic and is unfortunately a nightmare to get to and from. We love that daycare, but it may be too far to be our favorite. That mostly covers my most favorite aspects of wet nose dry paws. I have never personally had an issue with the staff. They always seem super friendly. I have never had an issue with pricing or the space. I have never had an issue with other dogs. So overall pretty positive experience... Except for one note and one complaint. First the note. Its an indoor place. This is both a super positive and a slight negative. The place smells like wet dog and urine. And it wouldnt be that bad, but when my dog comes home he smells of wet dog and urine for a couple days. For me this is not a deal breaker. I would love for them to invest in crazy ventilation to help prevent some of this, but I understand that its expensive and maybe the cost to smell correction is not there. Once again its an indoor park so I am not shocked, and its a mild annoyance at best. This is far outweighed by the the ability to take my dog to an indoor park when we are doing projects on the weekend during the fall/winter. My one complaint is that one of the times we took him to the daycare he came back with some bites on his inner thigh. I am guessing a smaller dog got into his under carriage and just bit a few times. Once again not quite a deal breaker for me. He is a big dog and has a ton of energy. The bites were a few small nips, nothing crazy. Probably just got a little rough with a biter. He was fine a couple days later and no harm no foul. Worth take a small inventory post daycare, but that is it. When I started this review I thought 3 star, but after writing it I am moving it up to 4 star. I will say I think I am realizing how much I prefer the 10 star or 5 + 1/2 star review. I think this lacks some nuance. The smell is not a huge problem, but its definitely a deterrent. The bite was not a huge problem and there have been other trips with no issue whatsoever, but its definitely on my mind when I drop him off. I can honestly say while I dont mind doing a half or full day there every once in a while, I believe if situations were different I would come back. And I think even thinking about all my boarding/daycare options this is much lower than my two preferred locations. So much so that if my number 1 was less restrictive on hours I would go there 100% of the time over this place, even with the extra driving and damper outdoor setting. Thats not to speak down on this place, but more to praise my proper first choice. I still recommend this place as I have not had huge issues, but its unfortunatley not my first choice. read more

I started bringing my pup to WNDP at the suggestion of a coworker. Initially, I was unsure because I live in Sumner, and I work in Tumwater. WNDP is not on the way, and during rush hour it is quite out of the way. However, my pup seems to love his friends at WNDP. I stalk the cameras more than I care to admit, and my dude is always playing and the other dogs seem happy. The staff is always kind, and incredibly patient with me (I know I'm a high maintenance owner). I have used the grooming services, and I am equally happy with that. Hands down, best daycare! Been a member for over a year and don't plan on ever leaving. My 2 year old mini Aussie loves his daycare days. I think he's fallen in love with the staff members (since I see him on the camera following them everywhere). Also, dog park and boarding are fantastic choices as well. Since WA is known for the rain, this is a great place to let your pup get exercise when you don't feel like getting drenched outside (I think I like to go for dog park so I can play with other dogs too). And the boarding is cage less so the dogs get to snuggle up on the bed like they do at home. Don't worry, someone is always there, 24/7 so your dog is never alone. Highly recommend! I started bringing my dog here about a year and a half ago, and was really happy with it. There was a lot of space for the dogs, web cams, some great staff, and reasonable prices. About six months in, we needed to board our dog and I emailed the staff to figure out the reservation (it was a slightly non-traditional one). While communication started off good, there were quite a few times throughout and after the process when communication just stopped on their end. Some of my questions were never answered. I noticed as a whole that it was harder to get a response over email and stopped sending messages. We get occasional report cards, but nothing consistent - rarely did we get one after boarding our dog, and only sometimes after she's groomed. We have her bathed there once a month. There's also been a lot of turnover with staff, to the point where I'll still be asked who I'm bringing in when I drop off my dog - despite our bringing her the same day every week for a year and a half. Following the daycare on social media also reveals how new dogs are joining them on a daily basis - yet there doesn't seem to be a significant increase in staff. The human-to-dog ratio is important to me, because I know it will keep my dog safe. In recent weeks a lot of information has come to light revealing mismanagement and neglect - neglect of dogs as well as neglect of employees - and it makes me worry for the safety of all the dogs and the people there. This includes a lot of staff, both current and former, stating they were responsible for more dogs than they felt comfortable watching on their own, as well as instances where other dogs or people were bit. My dog's health and safety is my number one priority, and I am increasingly concerned that she will not receive the care or attention she needs here. I don't think this is because the employees don't care; rather, I think the way this business is run and the policies put in place aren't good. read more

We've been taking our dog here for daycare on days when we haven't had a dogwalker for him while we're away at work. It's been a really great experience overall. I love the webcams so I can check in on what he's up to while I'm at work, and the report cards WNDP sends out during the day. The staff there seem to do a great job keeping an eye on all the dogs and playing with them throughout the day. I really appreciate the variety of activities they have for the dogs -- treadmills, ball pits, wading pools, toys, etc. Dropping him off and picking him up each day is a breeze. Their online system makes it super easy to manage my account, check in on my dog while I'm at work, and book services for upcoming days. While we haven't used it yet, I appreciate that WNDP also offers grooming and bathing services -- super convenient for saving myself an errand if I'm able to get that stuff done while he's spending the day at daycare. We'll also be keeping their boarding services in mind the next time we're traveling somewhere when our pup can't come along. read more

We adopted a couple litter mates through Wet Noses Dry paws and paid a pretty hefty fee. We were told microchipping and spaying would be covered and that the main reason for the fee was the amount of vet work they did initially. We had a little bait and switch with the microchipping as the actual placement of the microchip was covered, but then we had to pay an additional $50 each to have the dogs registered to us. Then, their only partner, Northwest spay and neuter, won't return phone calls or messages. (It's been 2 weeks) So, we are left to eat the initial fee and spend more money with our regular vet. The ladies were very nice and made the adoption and payment really easy. They were very communicative and when I said we couldn't get NW spay and neuter to respond, they made it clear that wasn't their problem. They can't schedule appointments for us, and that was our only option if we wanted the spay covered. Not terrible, but not great. read more

This place is amazing for my super energetic dog while I'm at work. The staff are so friendly and you can tell they really care about the dogs. If my dog has ever acted a little 'off' or even if she had a really good day, they'll let you know when you come pick them up. They also do the occasional "report card" to update you on how your pup is doing and will include a cute photo with it. I love that they update their social media throughout the day with pictures & videos of all the doggos, and you can check in on your dog any time online with their cameras. I am blown away with my experience here! The staff is so friendly, it's such a chill and laid back area. There is somewhat a smell when you first walk in but it goes away shortly after, I mean it is a closed area full of dogs! I bound to smell like them! Make sure to bring vet records if you plan on using the park. You also have to get an assessment done which is just to make sure your dog isn't too aggressive. I've seen some dogs with mouth pieces though, so if you know your dog is a bit of a biter I would talk to them about the mouth pieces! It's much bigger than I expected. They had lots of agility object there to use, tennis balls and even like a little bar to order drinks! (They also sell hot coco and some sports drinks I believe) Free Wifi was also provided. I gave my Pup a self wash bath here and it was a very good experience. They had lots of different shampoos and conditioners as well as brushes. They also have a little store that I didn't get a chance to look at because my dog was so eager to get inside the park. The workers were so good with the dogs, one ran into something on accident and the employees handled it perfectly and thoroughly. I would trust my pup in their care. They are sweet and genuine. Sadly, I do not recommend the weekend play park. I had a membership and cancelled it after just 2 visits because 1. The facility reeks of urine 2. The only way to clean up after dogs is to use a disgusting string mop that pushes the mess around, and then put mop back into dirty water 3. Zero to no supervision for dogs that join in to play with the weekend play park pups. This is a problem because : A. Lack of supervision means non staff have to clean up after other's dogs B. Lack of supervision means that when another dog is aggressive - an adoptive dog or day care dog - means play park parents are forced to intervene. So, I can't endorse this indoor play park. Just over a year ago, myself and my 6 month old at the German Shepard Kai relocated from Charleston to Tacoma. I researched daycare for him around the area and after careful consideration I fell in love with WNDP. I consider McKenzie and the unbelievable staff there like a second family for Kai not only for the great care they provide, but also for the tips and knowledge when it comes to caring for my bff! I have a golden retriever who has been shedding sooooo bad this summer. Fur has taken over our lives! I took her in for grooming and the additional de-shedding and it has been a game changer. She isn't itching as much and our daily vacuuming has been reduced to twice a week! The staff is friendly and communicative. I was 30 mins late to an appointment due to lack of transportation and they totally worked with me and still groomed her. Thank you guys!!! read more

My 4 month old puppy was dropped off for his third day of daycare. Less than two hours later, we received a call that a portion of his ear had been bitten off and that he was bleeding quite a bit. The staff was prompt about notifying us and they took him to the vet hospital next door. At that point, we were told either the other dog's owners would be contacted and WNDP would ask the other owner to help reimburse us for the bills. The staff member said, "Whenever that's happened, they've always paid," or WNDP would cover the cost if it was their fault. Later that evening, we received a voicemail from the staff member on duty and she said WNDP would "help us cover the cost of the bill." We had just picked our puppy up from the vet, so we chose to contact them in the morning. After we contacted the owner, Mckenzie, she said that the cost is solely our responsibility. She stated that when the staff member said they would "help out" it meant WNDP would pay and have us reimburse them at a later time. They are completely backtracking on everything they said about the situation. The most upsetting thing is that the other dog was not given a strike nor were the other owners ever asked to help us with the bill. In fact, Mckenzie blamed the vet hospital, since they "tend to be overly cautious about injuries." Seriously disappointing customer service. I would recommend going elsewhere. read more

Impressive start ~ easy to navigate the online reservations and the two team members working the front desk exuded confidence in a cheerful energetic way when I just dropped off my 10-month-old Portuguese Water Dog. As my dog and I are recent transplants ~ a local had strongly recommended Wet Noses Dry Paws and the positive Yelp reviews confirmed the recommendation. I will update my review later as we have another puppy care day, 3-nights boarding and a grooming appointment scheduled with WNDPs within the next week. read more
