I traveled almost two hours for an appointment and wasted my whole day. As you walk in and no one greets you offers you anything-my appointment was canceled (by them)even tho the millions of text to confirm would lead otherwise. I am convinced the research studies done are not only aimed towards the interests of the business but also very unprofessional. For being on a very nice lot they do not filter who comes in even with strict security. I was rushed and improperly handled and when asked questions the answers provided were as If they were speaking like they were the dr and that was very off putting since they are not professionals. What an absolute turn-style example of a $$$ focused Dermatologist. I went in for a routine skin cancer check after a friend recommended her. Dr. Ablon quickly buzzed in, asked very cursory questions, and when I said I had a family history of skin cancer she NEVER asked for specifics, did not inquire about the disposition, nor did she even really seem to take interest. The entire 'screen' was no more than 4-5mins. Really?!?!? Oh and they don't take insurance so be prepared to pay out of pocket. read more

Dr. Ablon performed a medical procedure which resulted in me being admitted to UCLA hospital for several days due to effects of a numbing shot injected into the wrong area. Following my departure from the hospital I asked her for a $900 refund for the portion of hospital expenses not covered by insurance. As a courtesy I did not file a complaint with the medical board. No good deed goes unpunished. Her father, a lawyer, offered me $450. The apple does not fall far from the tree. I was referred to her by one of her medical school classmates and went to her for a few years believing that her TV promotions and state-of-the-art technology would mean she was a stellar dermatologist. She is charming and nice, though abrupt at times and usually in a hurry. Her staff is hit or miss, depending on who is working, some are great and some are just doing their job. I've seen quite a few go in and out. I worked mostly with her nurse at the time, who was very nice. What I feel after years of being a patient was that she really doesn't value her patients. I was being prescribed a medication and needed an exam by the doctor to get this prescription. She just peeked in the room when the nurse called her and gave her approval. She didn't talk to me, examine me or even acknowledge that I was there. For this "exam", I was charged around $100 (I can't remember the exact fee). I asked why the "exam" fee was necessary when she never did an exam and they said it was protocol to do an exam for prescriptions. I asked them to reconsider the charge, to no avail. If she had done a proper exam, I would have been happy to pay. After years of being a loyal cash patient and having spent a few thousand dollars there on various procedures, I was disappointed by their attitude towards me and their need to nickel and dime their patients . It makes me think they don't value their patients. Patients have a choice and fighting over a few bucks will never win over clients, especially if the charge is unwarranted. read more

I LOVED my experience at Dr. Ablon's office. I signed in and before my butt could even hit the chair, they were putting me in a room. I was super nervous and her nurse made me feel very relaxed.
