1-Star Review We…read morechose Summerhill Pools for a complete pool replaster project, expecting professional project management, reliable communication, and proper follow-through. Unfortunately, our experience since the project began in early March 2026 has been extremely disappointing. The plaster was completed on March 18, 2026, and Summerhill collected water samples on March 19 during the critical startup period. From that point forward, however, the project was plagued by ongoing communication issues, missed commitments, and a lack of accountability. One of our biggest concerns was the repeated failure to perform scheduled startup and maintenance visits. We documented four missed pool service visits during the period when a newly plastered pool requires the most attention. Proper brushing, chemistry monitoring, and follow-up are critical to protecting a new surface, yet we frequently found ourselves wondering whether scheduled service would actually occur. Another frustration was the amount of homeowner involvement required just to keep the project on track. Instead of receiving proactive updates and clear communication, we often had to initiate contact, seek status updates, monitor chemistry information, document concerns ourselves, and follow up repeatedly on unresolved issues. It often felt as though we were managing the project rather than the contractor. We also raised concerns during follow-up inspections, including observations near the pool steps, and expected a higher level of quality assurance and oversight throughout the process. The most significant unresolved issue remains our reimbursement request for the cost of refilling the pool. This expense was incurred directly because of the replaster project and was not an optional cost. Despite multiple follow-ups, we still have not received a clear answer, approval, denial, or final resolution. Months later, the request remains unanswered. What disappoints us most is not any single issue but the overall pattern: poor communication, missed service visits, lack of proactive customer support, inadequate follow-through, and the continued failure to address a legitimate reimbursement request. When customers invest significant money in a major pool renovation, they should not have to chase updates, monitor performance, and repeatedly ask for answers. While the plaster work itself was completed, the overall customer experience fell far below expectations. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Summerhill Pools due to the lack of communication, accountability, and customer service demonstrated throughout this project.

Blue Escapes Pool & Spa - not level paver with sand that is not even in the gaps.

I highly recommend this company, and I'm not always easy to please!

In a mere 6 months AFTER the pool renovation was completed, the pavers gapped, not once but twice. They came out and fixed them, even doing soil injections a second time only for the exact same problem to return. The concrete beam or whatever its called under the coping is cracking and falling apart in two places. I've got several seams of grout in the coping tile that has completely separated b/c their sub contractor did a horrible job with cuts and used grout in almost 1.5inch seams which is absurd. They keep saying they are going to come out, but weeks pass without a single person showing up. Its now been months and I'm exploring my legal options, even if it just means taking them to small claims court. These guys are a construction defect nightmare who use a bunch of cheap mexican labor that doesn't speak english. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Update: They still haven't fixed the horrendous grout work yet they've been telling me for months someone will come out to fix it. Look at the grout size....this is the quality of work everyone. You think this is acceptable? Then they send out some loser who barely speaks english and he does a hand cut on a tile so it looks jagged like a bottle cap. He puts a bunch of sand in without truly fixing the gaps and calls it a day in an hour. The owner of the company, Bob, emails me to say it's all fixed. This company is a blatant joke. I should sue them just to make their life hell since they have made mine hell. Blue Escapes is just one giant construction defect claim waiting to happen. The worst contractor experience I've ever had and I've done full remodels on several properties before. If you hire them, be ready to spend a lot of money for the worst possible workmanship you've seen. You've been warned. Update 2: They sent out another band of incompetent illegals that don't speak english to try and fix the deck, but the joke continues. None of the pavers are level. None of the separation gaps were fixed, and the underlying issues still not addressed. Their incompetence is exhausting. I have officially filed a complaint with the BBB. I will no longer allow them to "repair" anything. I've asked for a 10k refund so I can hire another company to fix the pavers, the coping, and the bond beam which is crumbling. I've also hired an attorney on retention and I'm ready to go to war at this point. This business should not be in business. Of all my years remodeling properties, I've never dealt with this level of stupidity, poor management, and pure incompetence. It would be funny if it wasn't my property. But here we are and I'm beyond livid to the point that I will pour money into the legal side to crush this company. That's how pissed off they have made me and I've given them several opportunities to make things right. They will be lucky to be in business after I'm done with them.
