Was in this morning to get a basic 6' pump hose. Lot of people in the store, in line, etc, short employee female, dark short hair, was very rude to co-worker, Helped 3 people randomly ignoring the line, by the time she got to us, we told her what we needed and she basically told us she didn't want to sell us the hose. Pretty much done with this business and will never return again, we'll drive to Gordo's Pool Supplies in Modesto for future pool needs rather than waste our time with this place. read more

2 years after my last review, walk in. Don't get greeted. Stand in line where other people are having their water tested. Other people come in and staff asks them if they need help. Wait around for about 10 minutes. Finally get told the water testing is down for 2 more hours. How is putting drops of testing agent down? I also needed some chemicals and a few parts for my pump, but I will spend my money elsewhere. I purchased my large above ground pool here a few years ago, but after that initial experience, every time I go in hoping it was just a one time thing, they fail again. Maybe customer service training, like don't point to products on a wall, but take your claimed to the product. Maybe a new manager too, I think this guy was the same one that I wrote about 2 years ago. Not wearing a store uniform shirt, name tag pinned on sideways and backwards hanging off his hillbilly looking t shirt. I have been to the other Leslie's stores and never had this much trouble. I will never set foot in this store again. No wonder every time I did try to come in here, there was a sign up saying now hiring. If you can't keep your employees, you can't keep your customers. I suggest everyone go elsewhere and never use this location. Maybe when their water testing station, which was being used when I was there, is back in service, whatever that means. Been coming here for a lot of years basically cause we in Stockton don't have much of a choice .. It's always a pain in the neck the service chaotic at best nobody in the store knows much about pools at all .. Today I bought a section of bulk hose watching the guy cut the 3 ft hose was comical I thought he was gonna cut his finger off ...I also bought 3 bags of sand. 50# each he put them on the floor and says here you go ... Seriously did he expect me to Carrie all bags to the car ... I asked do you have a cart and he's like oh yea we do ... The was going to let me take the cart out my self ... This is Stockton and if I owned the store I would never let a customer take my expensive cart out the door ... Don't even think about getting advise on parts unless you have a part # ... Today I was shopping in your Stockton store, #62 in California, and it will be the last time I step foot in your stores. Every time I go in the workers are either on the phone or planted behind the desk, with visible attitude when you ask for assistance.they will take long technical phone calls even with customers ready to make purchases at the register. As a produce manager I would never allow one of my employees to put a phone call in front of a customer at the register trying to pay. This has happened to me on multiple occasions and again today. I went in at 10:30 am to purchase Fresh and Clear, Ron B was on the phone with a customer my entire visit, ahead of me was an 80 year old lady, I grabbed my items and asked her if she was waiting to purchase and she said no, I walked to the register and put my items on the counter, Ron B never acknowledged me or asked to put the customer on hold. At this point the old lady walked behind me with her items and was ready to purchase. There are now two paying customers waiting feet from Ron B and he NEVER even acknowledged we were there. He took about 4 minutes to finish his call, then started to open up the register or computer program your company uses at POS. This took about another minute, something he could have done while on the phone before, he then starts to scan my purchase, and the phone rings, he puts down my items , stops the sale and takes the call. He leaves us standing there for another few moments, items unscanned, purchase halted, and never asks to put the customer on hold, and it's a technical question, not a purchase or sale. Again, Ron B finished the entire call before again starting our transaction. As I was finishing, and getting my receipt, another call came in and he took it, but this time did ask to put the call on hold. Now I don't like to play the race card but I am Chicano and some say I look Middle Eastern, the old lady behind me was white and the salesman was white, he greeted her and put a call on hold for her, something he did not do for me. What conclusions can be drawn from this ?Have you have hired bold faced racists who use there minute iota of power to Lord over your store, and is costing you customers. Amazon never made me wait for a phone call, hope you guys fix it, because I am leaving this review on every review site I can, as well as Know Your Rights and The Shaun King webpage. My husband called to follow up regarding the part that we order and the person that answered the phone told him to speak to the manager bec. there was too much people in the line. The manager told my husband to that he don't know when the part will arrive even though we we're told it should've been here yesterday. All workers at that place are rude and no manners. Just ghetto workers!!!!! All of them including the manager needs to go on customer service training bec. they needed it badly. It's a shame to OWN that place!!!! Ok. This is only my second time Yelping but have to say that those pool folks (and especially Kirsten and Jessica) are excellent to work with. We refilled our pool from our well and everything turned GREEN. This happened after a totally new plaster job. Kirsten and Jessica were excellent and highly knowledgeable about the copper problem and walked me through the process. Our pool is Tahoe blue now thanks to the help we received. Thank you Thank you. Love the free pool and spa water testing! I recently moved into a place where there's a pool. The water looked great but testing at Leslie's revealed the balance and saline levels were way way off. This company ripped off my stepfather Mr. Lara. My stepfather bought a pool but requested that they wait to deliver well my stepfather decided that he no longer the pool and asked for a refund. Please note he never received the pool. They told him that they would charge him a 15 percent storage charge, really! When my stepfather received the refund they actually took a larger chunk between 25-30 percent. What a bunch a crooks. read more

Today I visited Leslie's with a problem concerning a handle I purchased. The installer said that they could not install it and to return it. Ron , the manager said I just needed different anchors. It's kind of a strange place. The people that work there seem a little off, but they're generally happy to help. I wouldn't trust the advice from the counter people, but if you can get an assistant manager or manager to talk to, they are quite knowledgeable about pool supplies. The prices for basic stuff, like shock and chlorine are decent, although more than once I've gone there just to find out they are out of liquid chlorine. Seriously? It's a pool supply store, you can't be out of chlorine. The store is clean and it's rarely busy, which gives it an advantage over buying pool supplies at a place like Walmart. read more

I would not care if my pool was green, I would never do business with the rudest people I've ever encountered at Leslie's pools. I was ignored by the guy and the lady at the front counter, for several minutes, and when I finally did get there attention the lady tried to treat me like some second class customer when I told her I had an above ground pool and needed a few pointers to keep it clean. After she rolled her eyes at me she proceeded to try and down talk me. I don't care if I had an inflatable pool or backyard oasis there are a lot of other places to do business, and I suggest you go there because I am. Horrible customer service. Was waiting to have my pool water tested and finally James came to the counter. Without a word, he nodded his head as if to say he was ready for me. He Didn't open his mouth to greet me or ask about my pool. Handed him my water bottle. He put it down and proceeded to ask the young lady next to him who was helping another customer to help him. The door to the business opened and he turned to see who came in and said hi to some friends. But still had not addressed me. He then started to test my water but grabbed a prior customers water bottle instead. After testing that water and showing that my levels were ok I told him he was using the wrong water. He said he knew it and took my water and proceeded with other water tests. He didn't bother to retest the ph and chlorine from my bottle. After 15 minutes of watching this kid move at a snails pace I finally had to just take my water bottle and leave. Unfortunately there aren't many places to test water or buy pool supplies in the city. I had been using Leslie's for the past 10 years. But I won't be going back here again. read more

Where to start with this place? Well I cant stand walking in this place the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. I will never set a foot in this place again. I came in to look for help on my pool because I bought a new home that has a pool. when i walked in i was not greeted at all I had to look for an employee to answer my question and when i did the manager was not helpful at all. This was the worst service i have ever received at any retail business EVER! I walked out VERY UNHAPPY i drove away down Pacific Ave. north bound heading home to my surprise when i got down past Thornton ave. and Waudman there was another Pool supply store on the right hand side call Imperial Pool Supplies and Service. It is a small local store as soon as i walked in the employees greeted me i felt welcomed and my day was turned around. they were so helpful with every single question i had. They now have my future business for sure. Hopefully they set up a yelp account because they are amazing with there customer service. Bought a home 2 years ago with a pool. We were not knowledgeable about pool upkeep. We were told to try Leslies, and I'm glad we did. Kirsten took the time to check our water chemicals and thoroughly instruct us on proper maintenance . We are now seasoned pool owners who always have crystal clear water. If ever we have a question it is answered right away . Just moved to Stockton and have a pool. I needed a part for the pool sweep but the store was out of stock for a few days. I asked Ronnie? if he possibly had an old one in the back that I could take a part from. He said he's check but had a couple customers ahead. I offered to come back later but he said it would be just a few minutes. It was. Ronnie went back and found an old part that I could use to tide me over, at no charge. This is our first year owning a house with a pool so we were kind of excited to check out Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies. I specifically went in for a pool raft but browsed around as well. Upon finding a raft, we went to the counter to go purchase it. 2 young ladies were deep in their own conversation barely acknowledging us as one of the girls rang up our purchase. As we were walking out of the store, I noticed that the item had rung up incorrectly. I went over to the section of rafts and sure enough we were not charged the correct amount. I mentioned that the item was rung up incorrectly and one of the girls said she would help us in a minute. The other girl just sort of wandered around avoiding us. When I finally showed the girl the listed price below the item and showed her that the item number matched the one on the receipt, she said, "oh well, they must have raised the price". I said, "no, this is the listed price. See, the item numbers match". She said, "no it is not the right item, but I'll give it to you at that price". I said, "you act like you think you are doing me a favor or something. See... the item numbers match..." She got pretty rude, finally reimbursing us the difference. I was very unimpressed with the service from start to finish at this store. When competition is fierce and really, all that separates you from the big box stores is good, friendly and caring customer service, you would think a small private business would hire knowledgeable and caring employees.
