Most of the time the employees are very helpful. My only issue has been with the water testing machine not working on numerous occasions.

A young gentleman named Richard helped me out today. He was very clear and thoroughly explained all information I needed to me. My pool has never looked better. I trust him to tell me the truth and not oversell me. Anyone else that has helped me there doesn't seem to know what they are talking about and will sell me random things I do not need, which is extremely frustrating. I will only go when I know he is there. I have been to other pool stores in town and with Richard's help this is the best experience I have ever had. Came in with my broken pool sweep because my pool guy said they were the local place that would take care of Polaris repairs as mine was still under warranty (he said it had a 3 year warranty). The guy that helped me that day (July 3rd) was adamant that it was only a 2 year warranty & this model had some known issues & it would be $900 to fix it. But I'd be "better off" getting a new one and he had shown me.one that was "on sale" for just about $1200. When I questioned about the warranty he said they could call and find out but he doubted it. So after taking my information down ha was gonna call them on the 5th and get back to me. (Didn't get his name, but he had glasses on). After 2 weeks of hearing nothing, I called multiple times And the phone just rang and rang with nobody ever picking up. After another week I stopped in and a guy told me that it was, in fact, under warranty and the parts were on back order so they were waiting on parts (would have been nice to know)......in the meantime....pools starting to look not so pristine so I found a FANTASTIC PRIME DAY deal on a sweep similar to the "on sale" one the guy at Leslie's had shown me.....$549 plus a 3 year warranty so about $700 total. But anyway......guy tells me about backorder parts so I ask if I should call back in a few weeks to check in and he says no, I'll call you by Friday with an update. Here we are, the FOLLOWING Thursday, no calls yet. I call, I let it ring off the hook.....a gal finally answers and puts me.on hold.for 10min. I tell her the scenario, she says yes, we have. Line of sweeps waiting for back ordered parts. And how the have bad phone service (which the last guy mentioned too so they may want to look into fixing that).......needless to say TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION and once I get my sweep fixed I will never go back here again. read more

we purchased a Polaris Pool Sweep, not cheap, and it immediately stopped working. We were told that they are not responsible for the product that they sold us new and to contact Polaris. Hi, Daniel and Richard did their usual top notch level of service but the store is like an oven. I broke into a sweat within a couple minutes of entering. The HVAC needs repair quickly. Also, the salt reader is steadily getting worse each year. About 5 years ago, it was constantly around 500 under our chlorinator display and the differential widening steadily since. This year the store's salt reader is around a thousand low. read more

Time to turn the green in the pool back to blue. Time to visit the Leslie pool store. I have been going here since last summer and this place continues to give me excellent service. Pool cleaners, pool toys, and pool chemicals are displayed throughout the store. Its easy to walk around and easy to find items since they are sectioned together by category: chemicals, toys, covers, cleaners, brushes, etc. Bring in your water sample and they will test it and tell you what you need if anything to make your pool a safe to swim in again. The staff breaks down everything in your water and makes their suggestions, I haven't had a problem and I usually try to listen to the experts. Arrived at this store today (Tuesday 6-5-18) between 10:30 & 11:00 am to order a part for our pool pump that they did not have in stock... so it was going to be a special order & was going to have to be located online. My husband was in the store on Sunday & was told they didn't have it but could order it, suggested he try another pool store in YC first that may have it in stock (they didn't) So he came back to the store on Monday to have the part ordered now they tell him they're going to need the model # by this time the store was closing soon had no time to run home to get model # off pump & come back... REALLY... they couldn't have told him this on Sunday? So Tuesday morning (with model # in hand) I go to the store to order this part... I wait my turn in line & explain why I'm there. The guy states he remembers my husband coming in... He don't seem very enthused at all about trying to locate this part for me what-so-ever! He decides to ask another customer who's holding two things in their hand "is there anything I can help you with real quick".... Really you're supposed to be helping me my time is just as valuable as anybody else's! So he proceeded to try to figure out what this person needs and then walks over to the supply area and starts looking for these items that this customer is needing and leaves me at the counter waiting! I could NOT believe it. What horrible Customer Service! Needless to say I left the store & definitely will not be back! We were going to be new customers too but not now. Will take our business else where... I wish I had got his name but if you're reading this which I hope you do...YOU DONT LEAVE THE CUSTOMER YOU ARE CURRENTLY HELPING TO GO HELP ANOTHER CUSTOMER!!!! I had a problem with my Polaris pool sweep and after trying to fix it ourselves I went to Leslie's Pool Service for advice. When I walked into the store I was meet by courteous staff. While I waited a few minutes for the manager to come look a very sweet employee Ana offered me a cold bottle of water. Andrew the manager was able to diagnosis and explain to me the problem with the pool sweep and fix it within 15 minutes. I was so impressed with his knowledge. He has been specifically trained by the company to repair pool equipment they sell. Andrew also educated me in future repairs I will need for the sweep. I really appreciated him taking the time. He had another helpful employee carry out the sweep and load it in my vehicle. . I only had to pay for the part and that was very affordable. I have used Leslie's before for pool chemicals and parts for my pool and totally recommend this local company! read more

Usually I don't give a negative rating to a company but my experience at the Yuba City store was terrible. I had gone into the store on several occasions to talk with the manager about a variable speed pump and he gave me the needed information. During one of my visits I asked him if he needed to see the site where the pump was to be placed. He said it was not necessary. Didn't even ask for a picture of it. So I bought the pump, including installation and parts for approximately $1,350.00 (tax incl). On the day of installation I was told it could not be installed because the new pump would not fit on the current pad. I was told to contact the store manager (Adam). I went back to the store and was told by Adam it was going to cost me 3 more hours of labor plus materials. I said that seemed unreasonable given I'd specifically asked him about him looking at the site. He said there was nothing he could do and that I'd have to pay the additional cost. I then offered to split the additional cost but he refused the offer. I then told him he was being unreasonable, given it was his error and told him I was going to write a review. He then became upset and wanted to negate the sale. I refused and told him I had a bill of sale and expected a pump installed. He then threatened to call the police so I told him what he could kiss and that he owed me a pump. So what does he do? He orders me out of his store and then has Leslie's Pools issue me a check for the purchase. Their way of negating the sale. As such, I called Leslie's in Arizona and was told they would have the Regional Manager contact me. Its been about a week and still no call. I guess it must be a mode of operation with them. Obviously, based on my experience and a separate review I read this is not the place to support. There are too many other pool businesses in Yuba City to put up with this type of service. read more

Went to Leslie's Pool Supply and took a sample of my pool water in to test. I was telling the clerk that we have water deposits on our pool tiles and a brown stain on the steps. He pointed to a half gallon jug of a cleaner that I could use to help take the stains and water deposits away. This product was 45.00 but I decided to get it along with a wire brush and some fosferous solution to add to my pool. my total came to 110.00 out the door. I gave him what i thought was the dimensions of my pool so he told me how much of the chemicals to use on the pool. I also told him that I was going to call him when I got home so I could measure the pool and give him the correct size. I told him I would call when I got home which was an hour later. So I called and he acted like he didn't know who I was. I tried to refresh his memory by saying that I told him that I was going to call. He said lots of people say that. I told him my name and he still didn't know who I was. I said I was just there an hour ago and he said that a lot of people have been there and he didn't remember me. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. He said he had to go because he was helping another customer with a water test. Thats when it dawned on me that I was a sucker and the stuff I bought was probably not needed or wasn't going to work.. He has another sucker at the store that was more important then I was because he already got my money and now he had another victom. I will not go back there and I hope people read my story and stay away from that place. read more
