After several calls for months to both Chevrolet (GM) and Leson Chevrolet, it is safe to say that Chevrolet is a substandard company/dealership to conduct business with due to the following reasons (based on Leson Chevrolet findings): (1) Inability to pinpoint/diagnostic issues accurately (2) Refusal to take responsibility for incompetency in automotive repairs (3) Failure to understand a logical sequence of executing a repair, and (4) Overcharging for auto repairs. Chevrolet (GM) failed to provide adequate oversight over Leson Chevrolet. For these reasons, I highly recommend that customers do business with other Chevrolet dealerships here in Louisiana, and consider other manufacturing companies when purchasing a vehicle in the future. read more

Do not bring your vehicle to lesson Chevrolet on the westbank expressway in Harvey for any body shop related needs. They have had my truck for 1 month 3 weeks for a front passenger side wreck. They said it was 8k in damage then when the insurance agreed to pay it was already at 11k in damages. The supplement went out and the repair ended up at 14k how convenient for Chevy. Communication with them is horrible, they drained my battery and let me know Friday at 4pm I needed to get a battery and bring it to them so now I can't get my truck until Monday or Tuesday next week. They lied about parts not found but did order from the dealership that cost much higher and I NEED TO GET A BATTERY TO GET MY TRUCK BACK IS INSANE! Bree stated, when your vehicle is in for repairs you will need to replace the battery! Bree is crazy if she thinks I believe that!!! Bad taste and will never refer Leson Chevrolet. Brought back to Leson Chevrolet a 2nd time to finish repairs and buff the orange peel paint job they said was an easy fix per shop specialist Kayde. 4 days later they are so excited to call for me to pick up again. Upon inspecting the truck on my own because Kayde went missing when I arrived. Bridgette, well let's just say she tried blowing me off by saying, I'm not speaking to you any longer. Really Bree? You've shown your talent for a collision center quite well. My paint job has been turned into a buffed burnt paint job verses an orange peel paint. Not even my headlight will work, it keeps blinking off and on! They also cracked my windshield and chipped the paint when removing hood and scratches on my window tint. I really could go on but looks like Leson has nothing to say! Not to mention Paul, the GM will hang up on you like a child if you say something he disagrees with. Terrible service. They held my truck for 12 months to replace engine when there was a recall on the engine rods which is why I brought vehicle in to shop. I had to call GM Arbiters to get some resolution to issues with service. Engine was under GM Warranty and did not provide rental or loaners - and i did ask this question specifically because warranty stated that rental was provided. We bought a used 2018 Mercedes from Leson Chevrolet with low miles, overall impressed with the vehicle. Buying experience was typical of a used car dealership. They're trying to make a profit, and I work to ensure it's not an obscene profit off of me... no harm, no foul. Before purchasing I noticed that it was missing some equipment from the rear compartment and the dealership offered to reimburse for the Mercedes tire inflator that was missing. Awesome- I really appreciate that. However, when I got the car home and removed the advertising license plate and plate frame, I found that the Mercedes backing plate had three of the four mounting holes completely blown out and it was obvious that whoever at the dealership put the advertising plate on just used some square plastic retaining clips and self-tapping screws (not the Mercedes star drive bolts) to secure. The screws were too long and did some damage to the paint. The old backing plate is totally unusable and the "fix" was temporary at best since an actual license plate affixed in this way would've blown off on the highway. I went to the Mercedes dealership and grabbed the inflator ($320) and a new backing plate, which cost $91. I then took the receipts to Leson to get reimbursed for the inflator as agreed and ask for assistance with the backing plate, since it's pretty obvious that someone in their organization let this slip by. I even said I wasn't looking for help with the damage to the paint from the screws. I showed the salesman the pictures and receipt and he spoke to the manager before coming back to say that "The deal is done, we didn't agree on the backing plate on paper... sorry." I only would have known this was an issue had I taken off the plates before buying the car, and I don't know of a lot of folks who disassemble vehicles on the lot prior to purchase. If you're going to spend a lot of money on a vehicle and expect a dealership to go the extra mile to make mistakes right, I would hesitate to recommend this place to a loved one or friend. Be very careful with this dealer even with warranty work or recalls. I had a recall for my 2023 Colorado and brought it to Leson not once, but twice to get this recall done and still didn't get it done from them. I did my research before booking the 2nd appt and writing this review. The first visit took about an hour in total with no recall done to the vehicle. I noticed this because there were no updates applied to my vehicle in the system settings tab. Upon doing more research with fellow Colorado owners, I was able to confirm this because my receipt didn't have any warranty claim codes on it, simply just comments from the tech (misspelled performed btw). Booked a 2nd visit, again took another hour, and left with no codes on receipt or updates to system settings in the dash. At this point I was fed up dealing with this, mind you I'm losing money from work since I'm spending additional time to get a RECALL done. Booked a 3rd appt on the eastbank at another Chevrolet dealer, and they successfully performed the recall with no issues. Dropped it off and picked it up the next day. Look, I get you don't make any money from the customer on recalls, but don't tell me the recall was completed when it blatantly wasn't. The excuse I was given by the advisor was "the technician didn't click the right reprogram button on the screen". So you either have technicians that don't know what they're doing, or you simply advise to staff not to worry about recall jobs. I usually go to Matt bower dealers but I came here for convince. The new truck I was planning to buy was parked outside in a bad spot due to the sales man telling me to park the car in that spot. Not too long after a car came and scratched the car I was planning to buy. They told me they would take care of it but never reached out to me until I reached out to them about it. Hello so thankful for the team at Leson Chevrolet whom assisted my son with purchasing his first car! My son worked very hard to have a great credit score and lots of money saved in the bank so I took him to the dealership to purchase a car. The finance manager educated him on everything that he needed to know and and he listened intently and he took the advice and ended up getting a great use 2018 Ford escape for a very good price and an excellent interest rate. Thank you lesson for taking the time to not only sell my son a vehicle but to educate him on how to buy a car and financing. After we thought we had a great deal we received a call the following day with an even lower interest rate! I applaud the honesty! I needed an Oil Change, A Tire Rotation and Nitrogen Fill on my tires. I had made an appointment for 9am. As i pulled into the service bay i noticed that the bay was full and several cars were waiting to pull in. I asked the Service writer the approx time i had to wait. He advised that i would be out in an Hour and a Half...... NOPE,, not even close. My 2018 Equinox was taken in at 11:46 ..... The tires didn't have but 37,34,32,32 PSI in them. I have driven Chevys since 1958 and am very familiar with numerous South Louisiana Chevrolet dealers. This is the absolute WORST of the genre; no close second place ! When we came back to N.O. after Katrina, wife's Tahoe neded some minor stuff done. Dropped it by Leson, expecting it to get fixed. Instead, we got a call giving an estimate for a ridiculous amount, like greater than the value of the vehicle. When I balked, we were told that we owed $100 for each item on our problem list, even though none had been repaired. For instance, the cable fom the radio to the antenna had become loosened and needed adjustment. Leson's proposed cure was to replace the entire stereo system, CD player, antennna, and cables at full price ! WORSE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP!! I went to get some maintenance done. My taillight went out and I had less than 15k miles on my car. Was told that they'll take care of it and left my car there. I called asking updates about it, they said they'll call me back.. never did. Asked again, never got a call back. I went to go check for myself and their maintenance side was closed. Not saying I won't have my car. I went to go ask the salesman if they could help me out about this situation and they said they can't I was about to leave and I was saying okay fine. I have been using the truck everyday, yesterday I brought the truck to S/H automotive because the truck would not start and was leaking oil from hoses that were rubbing on metal down below, I called my salesman victor who was no help, wanted to talk with clay in service but was out of town until today, I am unable to wait for my truck to sit at this dealership for God knows how long, it's my busy season and I need my truck. I brought my 2010 Traverse in for the 6th time for the same thing since JULY, 2016 when I spent $1200 to 'fix' it. It went back in 4 more times after the first time in July....with the service manager even bringing it home in order to try to figure out what was wrong with it (traction control/stability track warning kept coming on). The 6th time I was told that I need to spend another $853 to change a part in order for them to tell me what was wrong with the car (this was after they had it for 7 day). I was also accused of refusing to change a part that was recommended to be change during a previous visit. This was NOT true at all. I was never told at any time during visits 2-5 that any other parts needed to be changed. I believe that Leson unnecessarily changed the wrong part in JULY which is why the error repeated so many time over the summer. I drove at least 5 different loaner cars from Leson during this time period and for a minimum of 30 days. Ridiculous. In response to the visit, I traded in my car and purchase a Toyota. read more

I hate to leave a bad review. I really do. I feel I have to give a business the benefit of the doubt. After all why would they still be in business if they are in fact terrible? I think to myself perhaps I strolled in on a bad day where the employees were silently striking or union grievances played a roll in service or lack of. I feel I have given Leson Chevrolet opportunities, several at that, to come through or change my mind about the way they run their business here. But alas the ineptitude is too deeply ingrained to be washed away with a smile or a "sorry about that". I have purchased two vehicles from Leson and find myself returning here more out of habit and warranty related issues than out of satisfaction of service or gratitude. One visit in particular I stopped by for a previously scheduled routine oil change. No big deal right, in and out in 30-45 minutes, and I would be on my way... or so I thought. After well past an hour of waiting in the break room I decided to enquire about the completion of my oil change. They assured me it would be any minute. After another 30 minutes or so somebody came and retrieved me from the waiting room and informed me there was a problem. My heart skips a beat.... what now I wonder. Did they find a problem and take the extra to address it? Fix it? Find a solution? Help in any way? Simply put the answer was no. They stated while performing my "oil change" they had to inspect the contents of my passenger compartment which required them to open my rear passenger side door. Naturally I was off work and deemed that day of days to be my errand day, get gas, make groceries, stop at the bank, get my oil changed, then home and relax. Well apparently the issue was that when whomever opened my rear door while changing my oil, because that's not weird, a large shopping bag containing several glass bottles of wine came rolling out and fell to the floor. Crash!(Cue sad sounding solo violin and crying Italian women) Instead of attempting to rectify this problem they assure me that it's no big deal and is just simply some spilled wine. Management would not adjust the bill for the value of damaged property for which I had a receipt. Management would not provide any form of reimbursement. They stated "come back tomorrow" and you can talk to the other manager. Great. Let me just call off of work and drive an hour to pay my favorite dealership an unnecessary visit to talk to some mythical manager that apparently has more managerial powers bestowed upon him than this manager did. Needless to say nothing was fixed nor resolved. It took me about a year to get over that slap in the face. Cue issue numero dos. Naturally having a newer vehicle may mean you need to bring it in for safety recalls. I had two that were due for my truck and decided it's a simple fix and after all is it really worth crying over spilled milk/wine? I called up, scheduled an appointment. This time they were required to change my seat belt tensioner. I refused to wait in the waiting room so instead I stood near the garage entrance where they perform the vehicle maintenance. I watched a gentlemen in a rolly chair sliding all around my truck opening and closing doors. Removing parts then adding parts. After about an hour the work seemed to be done and the vehicle keys were returned to me. I was about to leave the garage where the maintenance was performed but for heck's sake I checked the areas this man in the rolly chair was working and sure enough what do I see? Several brand new scratches all along my otherwise perfect coat of paint. Some of these scratches were light and may have been able to be buffed out but others were deep and obviously fresh. Fresh paint specks lie at the edges of the fresh scratches. What I considered to be irrefutable proof that these scratches just occurred. Management meanders over and for a moment I believed he was playing dodgeball, the way he would dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge. Where's a wrench when you need one? Naturally he believed I was lying and he scoffed at the idea of his employee causing that damage. This manager decided to inspect my vehicle for other evidence that I'm a careless owner. Zero scratches/dents/imperfections later he thought that maybe I should come back tomorrow and talk to, yeah, you guessed it..... the Wizard of OZ, I wish. At least the wizard would have been more helpful. Yet again another manager with the divine power and authority to rule ancient Rome and make a management call on how to fix my newly acquired scratches. The list can go on with terrible communication, delayed scheduled maintenance, piss poor job performance, etc. Good luck with your future endeavors because I doubt they will be in the automotive industry at this rate. The service sucks!! I've bought my truck in for the same thing twice and it's still not fixed. The first time I dropped it off I waited 3 1/2 hours before I called a ride. No one ever came too say they didn't have the parts or that it would take longer to fix. They held the truck for 8 days, and didn't call with updates. I ended up calling daily mostly getting voice mail until I popped up over there. Needless to say I finally called and they said it was finished, picked it up and couldn't believe the truck wasn't fixed .. 8days.. 8 whole days and the truck was not fixed. Bought it in again, and again I was the one calling and checking the status of the repair. They claimed it was finished, get there and AGAIN it was not. I'm just completely outdone. My plain advice: Never go here for service. You WILL be overcharged. You WILL be given less-than-ideal customer service. You WILL wonder "why did I think it was a good idea to go to the dealership for maintenance?". And if you're smart, you will also NEVER make the same mistake of bringing your car to the Leson Chevrolet Service Department again. I dropped my Tahoe off for a scheduled maintenance item. I also had some other needed things in mind, that I wasn't sure about. After looking over my vehicle, he called me back and went over a list of services to see what I wanted done. I told him what I wanted done, and specifically told him what NOT to do. Guess what? I got a surprise! He called me back to tell me they had already done one of the services. Well, OK, fine. Big deal. It was a small normal maintenance item. How much could it be? A few bucks? YES: quite a few bucks, actually! I was floored by the bill when I saw it. That extra maintenance item - which I could have easily done MYSELF in an hour of time and some parts from Autozone - doubled my bill from what I thought I was going to pay. I felt totally, 100% ripped off. You would have felt taken advantage of, if it happened to you. That's bad enough. You'd think they would listen, and actually care. NOPE. I was given a difficult time by the "Service Advisor" about my objections. (Was there a chance he was wrong in his mind? Oh, no. No way. Couldn't be.) Consideration for the customer? NOPE. Plenty of excuses? YEP. I heard all about why he was right, why they did the job, how he gave me the better version of the part instead of the normal one, ho At Leson Chevrolet, the customer is not #1. The customer is just a thing they can extract money from. What is #1 is the Service Advisor, apparently. And that, folks, is how a dealership loses customers. I might have made a mistake in going there once - but I learned my lesson. I will never go back. Thought this would be the perfect place to get my 2011 Chevy Cruze repaired plus it was the only place the Onstar tow service would send me to. Diagnosis came back with the replacement of a starter. Labor was about $550 and the starter was about $300 before taxes which seemed over the top. As soon as it was "fixed" the car died on me & I was once again at the shop. I paid nearly $1000 only to have something "unrelated" happen. Bad wiring they said. $200 later I'm driving my car & the check engine light comes on. Now I need a catalytic converter. All of this happened within a week. The sales rep mentioned they love cars not under warranty so don't trust this place with you vehicle unless it is. read more

I brought my 2013 Chevy Sonic there to have my motor replaced with my Warranty Protection Plan in June. I was told due to the pandemic, parts are taking long to be shipped. It took 4 months (September 19, 2022) for them to say that 29 motors were coming in from Germany on a Ship and we were 30 on the list. All this time I had to pay for transportation and was told the motor was coming sometime in September, which never happened. I was told that they would give me a rental and I might have to wait until December. Finally, I called my warranty protection Plan, September 23rd, and they said that if I could find a remanufactured motor they would pay for it. I found 4 motors available the last week in September. Carlos, my Service Rep made no attempt to find a motor or work with my Protection Plan. They offered me a 55,000-mile motor that my warranty company would not authorize to pay for. I talked to Craig Guidry, Service Manager. and got the same runaround. I had to buy a vehicle, since I did not trust them to keep their word on anything they told me. I made a vehicle purchase in March 2020 that turned out to be the most deceptive buying experience I believe I have ever had the displeasure of being a part of. The salesman I dealt with was intentionally deceptive and adamantly attempted to convince me I agreed to a $1600 fee unrelated to the purchase of the vehicle hidden within the cost of the tax, title & registration fees. The New Car sales manager was just as concerned as he could be and made it very clear was unwilling to even attempt to address or correct the issue. I request a meeting with the General Manager. Before I could meet with him, I luckily met Mr. Leson and after peacefully explaining the situation he had the $1600 fee removed. I was extremely thankful for Mr. Leson and though that would be the end to the unpleasantness. That was until the Finance Manager proceeded to send in the incorrect loan paperwork. I had to through the process of proving to the finance company the submitted paperwork was incorrect and the dealership needed to submit the corrections. Now I am dealing with the first payment nor posting properly. I had my truck towed there Thursday moring and Friday morning I got a call saying my truck was ready and all I had to pay was $170 for labor. So picked it up and didn't make it half way home before it died again. So had it towed back to them and its Saturday now and still without a vehicle and paid money for nothing because obviously they didn't fix anything. They don't call with any updates and trying to talk to the service department is next to impossible. If I didn't live so far I'd have taken it to Bryan Chevrolet in metairie they are way better and they answer all of your questions. read more

I have had a very bad experience when I brought my 2012 Chevy Tahoe in for transmission problems. First,they said nothing was wrong. Second,they said it was the drive shaft and replaced it but I still had the same problem. Third, they said it was the throttle and replaced that but I still had the same problem which had only gotten worse at this point. The last time my vehicle was brought in,the manager advised the technician informed him there were no problems with my vehicle and refused to allow the technician to attend to any further diagnosis for repair on my vehicle. This was all in a matter of 5 months ago when my vehicle started jerking when I would accelerate.Needless to say,my transmission light finally came on (2 weeks ago on the highway out of town where I work) speedometer dropped down to 70 then 60 so I had to exit and leave it at another dealership because it wouldn't even go in reverse by then! They had no loaner cars and told me it would be a week before my truck was able to go into a transmission shop so I had to pay $35 a day for an enterprise rental but thank GOD my extended powertrain warranty not only covers my transmission replacement (no deductible) but my warranty is also covering at least one week of my car rental! I feel had the technician,manager and staff actually done their job, I would've had my transmission replaced months ago and not had to come out of my pocket for a damn rental and could've possibly been stranded had my vehicle stopped on the highway! They will never get my business again and I will be making a formal complaint. read more
