He answered with a plain "Hello" so I made multiple attempts to confirm the business but after his rude responses (putting it gently) I was turned off, thanked him for his time and said "Disregard". I prefer to support the small guy, hence my call to him, but just because you're a small business owner doesn't mean you're exempt from practicing professionalism. Needed service on my a/c unit. Called Reifel and explained that I have Trane equipment and wanted…read moreto be sure they knew how to work on that brand. Mike assured me that he could diagnose and repair any brand. His website and business card say the same. He showed up with a trainee (his son-in-law) The unit was running louder than usual and I told him that when it happened to my other unit, it was low on freon. He assured me that my freon was perfect. He changed out the capacitor and a wiring clip on the main house unit and added .3 lb freon in my other unit that cools the addition to our home. Later that night the compressor began making an arcing noise and short cycling. He came back the next day and said there was a "magnet" that was loose and he put it back in place. That should fix it. Later that afternoon the unit quit running again. He came back again, called Trane Support and then came upstairs to say that he would be "bowing out of this job" because he didn't have the proper tools to do what support needed him to do and he wasn't going to buy any tools. Although I contracted with Reifel to get my a/c running he left me high and dry...charged me full price for a half assed job. By the way, my "perfect" unit took 1lb of freon and the "magnet" is actually a type of relay.
