You walk in and it's like a transformed gas station into kind of a deli, kind of a convenience store, and kind of a restaurant. Super duper weird. The menu has a ton of stuff on it. I was feeling like getting some food from my people so thought I'd try this German spot. Up first was the #3 Reuben for $13.95. I love me a good Reuben. However, this is not the place to get a Reuben. Super thin, barely any meat or flavor. It is mostly eating bread. Avoid. Up next, I can't remember what the other sandwich was, but it was bad. I think it was a Cuban, but not sure. It was straight bread. Take a look at the pic. Now, the only above average food item I tried was the German potato salad. I would come back here only for that. Tons of German beers here and souvenirs.

After eating you tell them what you had to eat and drink and then pay. I had the turkey ruben on marble. You pick the type of bread. Didn't realize that if you want a side you need to order it with the sandwich. Honestly I had the regular sandwich and would not have had room for anything else. There are german products for shopping if you want.

I will constantly be shopping here now…read more Recently I read that food is more regulated in Italy so I went on a quest to find food made in Italy. This is the place to go. Yes, there is tons of food made in the US too but it's a good variety. You won't find everything that you find at a standard grocery store here. Off the top of my head I couldn't find Greek yogurt, cottage cheese or nut butter, but what you do find is spectacular. We got pasta and pasta sauce imported from Italy, frozen ravioli from New York, coffee beans from Italy, bread from local bakeries, and my husband loved the coke from Mexico with real sugar. We also grabbed cannolis from their deli. They have a substantial wine and butcher area. Also a a good selection of ready made foods. This place is hidden, but the parking lot is big. I will definitely continue to come here to shop!

I wanted Calabrian chiles, but they were apparently behind the plastic construction area. At the deli, I asked for a half pound prosciutto. They cut over 1lb due to lack of English. OK. I took it anyway so it was not wasted (the domestic was no bueno). It was old and dried out. There was no one at the meat counter, so I had to ask the deli guy to help me. The chicken breasts that were on sale were gatgantuan. I have never seen chicken breasts so large. The wings smelled bad when I got home to package to freeze. I had to toss 10 lbs. The reason I went was for the chicken sale. I am not risking food poisoning. The prices on most grocery items were actually higher than Publix. For specialty Italian items, the selection was just good. I did find guanciale and pancetta. Honestly, I would rather go to Mazzaro's or Moschella's. Their service is much better, and they have much more specialty items, plus they are cleaner and don't sell old nasty food.

Interbay Meat Market is your "super bodega" of South Tampa (Gandy and everything south of that -…read moresorry folks, I'm just stating the facts ;)). I had the pleasure of coming here twice - once for lunch and another time to buy actual meat. The initial take of the Meat Market lends itself to some hesitation and doubt. A fast glance may trick one into thinking that the store is part of the Circle K gas station itself - it is not, so don't worry about getting any gas station "specials." As you walk into Interbay Meat Market, you will find yourself immersed in truly a large-sized bodega with open-faced fridges, packed with drinks, lined against the outer walls. In between everything else are your groceries and other common pantry items. Almost at the center is a cantina/canteen, where you can pick out your own lunch from an assortment of available freshly cooked foods. The food you find here would be comparable to Caribbean twist or any other Latin-cafeteria style eatery. The servings are generous for a decent price. If you're coming here for lunch, there are outdoor picnic tables so you don't have to bring the heaping trays back into work if you don't want to. Next to the cantina is the fresh meats section. The cuts of meat here all look great and freshly stocked. They are neatly stacked and organized giving it overall appeal. I came here for steak and was happy with the various cuts they offered (porterhouse, NY strip, ribeye, Delmonico being the commonly recognized ones). In speaking with the clerk, each cut was sized for about a pound - which makes it easy when you're gauging the price. The porterhouse and Delmonico's that I bought immediately went on the smoker and grill, and they were a hit with the party. As you can imagine, you can purchase alcohol as well as tobacco products (behind the cashiers) here if that's your thing making Interbay Meat Market a one-stop shop!

Food is phenomenal but not a great place to sit down for a bite, I guess that's what you get when it's a market.
