I wait about 10 min, text the original braider and she does not respond. So I texted Brandi who did my hair the first time, she responded right away that she had no availability. About an hour into waiting (back at my car) I texted the braider who was supposed to cover. She responds & says shes unavailable until later that day around 6-6:30pm. I show up at that time discussed above, the shop was open and many people were being serviced. The braider said she would be with me soon, She was eating her food. After about 10 min she took me and started, she worked fast and I loved the results. She did exactly the picture I gave for reference and once we started she was pleasant & kind (besides the 20 mins on the phone). They are not super professional or timely at all but they do amazing braids at an affordable price. I will likely return since its close enough to my location here in SF. I came in excited to get a cute, boho bob for summer. I booked with a stylist who had availability and is also the owner's daughter, Breana , so I felt confident she could deliver the look I wanted. The appointment started off well, and we had a nice time. But toward the end--especially around the front perimeter of my hair--it felt rushed. I assumed the curls would fall into place, and initially, the style looked nice. But within two days, the entire back row of braids unraveled. I reached out to the stylist, and she told me that shouldn't have happened but offered to fix it. We agreed to meet again on Tuesday at 1 PM. I brought two friends with me to make sure everything was handled properly, but the stylist showed up 15 minutes late and reminded me she was squeezing me in and pushing back other appointments to accommodate me. She fixed the back row, but as I pointed out other braids that were unraveling, she just redipped them in hot water--no technique or method to actually secure them--and unsurprisingly, they came undone again. More braids in the front and on the sides started unraveling in the following days. I've seen this style done well on short hair, with proper techniques to secure it. That wasn't done here. At one point, I was also nearly burned with hot water, which added to the discomfort. When I was leaving, I asked the stylist if she could fix the braids in the front that were already coming loose. She told me she had another appointment and could not accommodate me. Instead, she referred me to her mother, the salon owner, for any further help. What made things worse was that I was repeatedly blamed for the issues because I asked for short hair--something very common with boho bob styles. If the stylist didn't feel confident doing it, she could have just declined the request rather than doing it poorly and shifting the blame onto me. Even after one return visit, my hair still looked bad. I had tipped after the first appointment because it looked decent at first, but I expected better quality and service when I came back. I reached out to the owner and asked for a 40% refund of the $255 I paid (including tip) so I could get it redone elsewhere. Instead, I was told my only options were to go to court or let her redo my hair--but by then, I didn't feel comfortable or safe returning. I also felt gaslit--like the situation was somehow my fault--when in reality, stylists with proper technique can do this style correctly. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I think it's important to be honest. For the money I spent, I expected professional work and lasting results--not to spend over a week dealing with unraveling braids and no resolution. I won't be returning, and I hope this helps others make an informed choice.

I moved to San Francisco 9 years ago and I have never been twice to the same Hair Salon since I always end up disappointed with the results. That was until I went to see VICKY about a year ago. At that time my hair was a mess, I was very frustrated with it and took a pair of scissors and chop off two chunks of hair. I knew I needed some professional intervention and found VICKY on yelp and decided to call her. She gave me a relaxer (perm) and worked wonders on my hair. Fast forward one year (Friday April 4, 2014), I was going to go to wedding and remembered how great VICKY was the first time and decided to go back to her. My appointment was at 8 am and she was there before I arrived. I was surprised to see that she remembered me, she even remembered conversations we had a year ago. She rapidly started to work on my hair and was very attentive to what I wanted. She make an effort to make sure that my hair looked perfect. She had a very gentle hand and I felt as if she was playing with my hair. At the end she spent almost three hours on my hair and I felt like a million bucks.
