So bummed. Have been going here for three years. My last three manicures were horrible, 4 layers, inexperienced tech, wouldn't dry, wrote to ask for a discount on next service and no response. Had a gel manicure peel off three fingers after 48 hours. Generally just room appears dirtier & dirtier each time I go and there's lots of conversation between techs that feels like judgement of clients. UPDATE: Owner personally contacted me and wants me to try again. I have a service scheduled in a couple days. I do think they care,. I'm giving it another try. UPDATE # 2: Went in for my complimentary classic mani/pedi. They were right on it: no waiting, right to business. Both the mani and pedi went well. I did have to ask for a drying machine for my mani, just to be sure it would dry. I'm grateful they offered me this service for free and I feel better about it all. They care and really tried. I left a big tip for both technicians and I will consider coming back again. I should ask for specific people if I do go back. I think it matters. read more

I've been a long-time Mina Spa client, but recently I've been increasingly dissatisfied with my experiences. On multiple occasions, my appointments have started more than 30 minutes past the scheduled time. In addition, I have repeatedly booked appointments with specific technicians, only to arrive and be told they are unavailable - sometimes due to booking system issues, and other times because additional services were accepted with other clients. As a well-established business, this level of scheduling inconsistency should be better managed. While I consistently have positive experiences with Rachel and Delancy, my experiences with several other technicians have been unacceptable. There have been multiple instances of bleeding, uneven nail cutting, and poor polish application. I'm sharing this feedback because I've been a loyal customer for years and expect a higher and more consistent standard of service. read more

Absolutely wonderful and I wish I have been going there all along. I went to get my gel x extensions removed and made an appointment an hour before I wanted them done. They responded quickly and were very accommodating. The part that blew me away was the removal itself. She was able to strip the gel off WITHOUT thinning out the actual nail. I didn't know that was possible... I left with my nails smooth and without a dip where the drill sometimes cuts into the nail. 10/10 will be going back! read more

Came here to get my gel x removed. I was able to call in and make an appointment. My total was $10 for gel removal, which is quite reasonable! The staff was nice and even helped me shape my nails after. My lady even help fix a tear in my nail with some powder. My experience was clean, neat and professional. i understand why this nail salon has such good reviews now! the service i received was great. normally i leave salons not 100% satisfied with my final product, but all the nail technicians and staff did amazing. the salon was clean and bright as well! when i got there, there was no wait time and the staff quickly got started on my nails. at one point there were two staff working on me: one to remove my acrylics and one preparing the gel set up--i appreciated the efficiency! the nail technician did a good job understanding what i wanted from what i communicated and the images i showed--she delivered it flawlessly. the staff were patient, took their time, and seemed to really care about my satisfaction and experience by checking in on how i was doing. overall i am very happy with my new set and will be coming back! read more

I had a 1pm appointment and when I arrived they said I could sit at the middle station so I told her I needed to go to the restroom first. When I came out they sat a walk in customer there and told me my nails would be done at the pedicure chair. Then someone started my GelX set and nails were different sizes and some were crooked because she was on the side of the pedicure chair doing my nails I told her that but she insisted that she would fix my nails after she completed both hands. When finished she wiped my nails with alcohol and put back under the UV light and they turned chalky white which was not normal. I selected bubble bath opi color and you could see the white chalky spots under 3 coats. She blamed me for picking that color but I always only get this color. I paid $75 anyway and showed the other nail tech how my nails were different shapes sizes and length and she said it's the color. How!!!!!!! This will be my Last time going to this shop. read more

I go here all the time for my nails. Usually they are ok but this time the lady doing my pedicure asked me if the water was hot enough. I put my feet in and said it was cold. She put her hand in and said it was fine. I told her again can she add some hot water. She just said it's fine and kept on going. I said to her then why even ask me if you're not going to do what I want. So now I'm pissed off so guess why you won't be getting a tip lady. read more

I really wanted this to be my new nail salon and based on all of the amazing reviews, I thought this was the place! Unfortunately, I did NOT receive the same wonderful treatment as other women have raved about. I made an appointment for Sunday afternoon. They weren't busy so I was able to pick my color and was seated right away. The woman who greeted me was very sweet. I asked for a gel manicure and regular pedicure, which was $86 - and they charge for gel removal. The woman working on my hands was ok, but she did not cut all of my cuticles so I had to come home and do it myself. The pedicure was the worst I've received in a while. The woman barely gave me a foot massage, she didn't give me the air dryer so my nails ended up ruined after I left. When I was finished I asked if I was dry and should put on my sandals. Usually most places would help you and the woman responded "go and put your shoes on". Absolutely no customer service! I was a brand new customer for them and was watching other women getting much better treatment while I was there. It's just unfortunate that this was my experience. Each customer receives a new sanitized set of tools opened from a plastic package. Disposable nail files & buffing sponges are also used to avoid cross contamination. Rachel did my mani today & I'm more than satisfied with the result. I came in with Japanese hard gel on, so it took nearly an hour to remove it. She patiently removed it after several rounds of filing/soaking, without damaging my natural nails. Her paint job was so precise, like just look at how cleanly she got near my cuticles! I'm sooo picky when it comes to nail shape too and they came out so good. I asked for a thin french line design, and she did it perfectly. The total for the gel mani came out to $70 because I added on designs, which does seem steep - but is fair for SF. read more

After a bad experience at a Different salon with the painful heat reaction and reused nail files, I had sworn off paying for mani pedis. But my nails were looking rough so for new year's I caved and came back here! It was very busy when I went, with the end of the year rush. They had me seated and had a lady starting on my pedicure as soon as she could. I noticed the buckets full of new single use nail files and foot buffers and the pedicure tubs were lined with plastic liners, which made me feel relieved about the sanitary practices. I had a very comfortable experience. They use a foot scrub and hot rocks as well as warm towels and lotion. There were no nicks or pain under the UV light at all! My nails look even and very cute. Incredible value compared to other nail salons, but lacking premium quality. TLDR, you get what you pay for, which I think is a very fair trade off. I walked in at 1:30 pm for an immediate appointment. The staff here are incredibly responsive and always pick up the phone. I called 4 other places that did not answer right away, and Mina's staff answered on the first ring! I was absolutely blown away by how nice and kind the staff were. The interiors are standard and clean. They have wonderful arched lights at the manicure counters that create a futuristic look for the table. The quality of my manicure was decent, but not satisfactory. A regular nail polish set costs $23, with the add on of French tips for another $10. The nail technician struggled to see well due to her age, and squinted a lot, but was very kind and sweet. However, she had to redo several individual nails 4 separate times. During the 3rd and 4th redo, she neglected to put on any top coat. Some of the polish do not reach fully to the side of my nails, and many of the French tips were uneven or poorly drawn. Brushing an excessive amount after the first application also caused the polish to lump up at odd places. She tried her best, and I appreciated the effort. This also isn't too noticeable from a distance, so I don't mind the imperfections. However, with ample time I would plan to go elsewhere with an appointment. If I did come back here, it would be for the price, and I would definitely request a specific person/ask for their name. I am curious to see how the cat eye effects and other solid gel colors look here. I think the technician struggled due to the sensitive nature of painting French tips, but likely would have done better with solide colors. read more

First time getting my nails done in the city and I'm so happy I found this place minutes from home. Parking isn't too bad I parked a block away and walked over. This salon is small but my friends and I made appointments for pedicures and gel-x sets a day before and they were able to get us in! Everyone was good. I feel like there wasn't one person that was not skilled and they were able to get us out in a timely manner. Clean and chic salon that's conveniently located across the bart station at Glen Park. There's plenty of parking if you're driving particularly on weekends. Price of a regular mani and pedi combo is $42 while separately, they're $28 and $18. This is reasonable compared to the $35 pedi spot I called prior to booking my appointment here. There's also plenty of colors to choose from. They're friendly, punctual and gentle with the cuticle cutting. Overall, it was a relaxing experience and I left satisfied with my service. Wish I discovered this salon earlier! This is such a hidden gem in Glen Park and in such a convenient location. I booked my pedicure service through ClassPass and added on a gel manicure. I love the service and ambiance of the salon. I was offered tea/coffee right when I entered which I really appreciated because it was pretty cold that day. They got started right away on my pedicure and I had a really relaxing foot massage and scrub. The lady did a great job on my toes and loved how gentle she was cutting my cuticles. While I had my toes worked on, I had another lady work on my manicure (didn't catch her name though) but loved the care she took to do the designs on my nails. I showed her a pic of what I wanted and I think she did a pretty good job. It doesn't look exactly like the pic but I don't mind since everyone's drawing is different. Definitely an A for effort! Overall I'm happy with how my nails turned out. Also had a nice conversation with the lady that I think was the co-owner. She was telling me how they just took over the salon back in Sept but kept the salon name the same. I also noticed they treated their customers with a lot of care and constantly check up on them. Stopped in for an acrylic removal, and it was NOT okay: Instead of filing down my nails and soaking them in acetone, the nail tech took a nail extension and slid it under the nails to pop them off... it really hurt, it damaged my natural nails, and she ripped one of the nails on my right hand. She chipped away at the nail using a cuticle cutter then slid the fake nail underneath ... *shudder* I screamed in pain, and got a "sorry." So the tech new she was hurting me and has the potential to hurt me, and decided to continue in that way. There was an older white woman with wine next to me, and I noticed that she had her hands wrapped in foil for a nail removal. Proof that they did know how to properly remove the acrylics and chose not to. Did they remove mine in a horrible way in order to save time? Why were my nails not removed properly if they know how to do it? Then, I had a terrible basic manicure done. She didn't even clean under my nails after I got acrylics removed. Honestly, it was one of the worst nail experiences I've ever had. I just really wanted the nails off, and there was no reason to rush as the spa only had 2 other people inside during the removal. read more
