Stephanie did my cut and color and put all of my fears to rest. She's incredibly sweet and easy to talk to. She was super patient with my indecisiveness and helped me find a happy median for what I wanted. My color looks absolutely gorgeous and the price was very reasonable. I've paid ridiculous amounts in Raleigh before and gone to some snobby places. I'm so thankful I found such a cool place to go that's not pretentious. Everyone was very talented. I will not go anywhere else! I've gotten so many compliments on my hair and it looks so much healthier. :)

I could go into the fact that my stylist allowed a new girl to help apply my color, and how she made the comment about how much faster she was going, like it was a race. Kathy is my girl. I can't say much about the other people at 49 Hair Design. Though they do seem…read morenice. I followed Kathy Handy here from her last two salons. She is an amazing hairstylist. The hairstyle in my profile picture is actually her masterpiece. I wish I could afford to see Kathy more often, but I'm only a part time employee while I'm in college. That being said, she sees me when my hair is down to my lower back and starts misbehaving. I finally get to my wits end with the tangles and text her to get it cut. She knows my usual, and has come to expect it. I get a wash, condition, cut, and dry. I once asked her to cut it shorter than usual and she told me that she would cut it longer than that because she was sure I'd regret it. If I decided I did want it shorter after all, she'd fix it. She ended up being completely right. I loved the length she cut it to. Before I got my car, she actually drove me home from a hair appointment at one point. When I asked about getting my hair dyed, she asked if I was sensitive to the heavy metals in box dye, and informed me that doing it myself with a box would be cheaper. She actually looks out for the best interest of her clients. I have thick hair, in that I have a lot of it. The texture of my hair is actually very fine. Kathy has the same type of hair, so she knows what to do with it. At this point, even my sister has started going to see Kathy. If you're looking for a talented hair stylist that listens to your wants and needs, seriously think about seeing Kathy. Oh, and before I forget. The styling of my hair in my profile picture? I didn't ask for that or pay for that. My hair appointments just don't really take that long, so Kathy styles my hair free of charge when she's done.
