    Holiday Bowl
    Cher A.

We stopped by this restaurant when in the area and it is a very cute vegan place. The Ambiance: The ambiance is typical of your traditional vegan restaurant. The space has room for maybe 8 tables and it is pretty casual with green wheat grass decor I believe. The Food: The food was really good. We ordered the festive bowl, the goddess bowl and wedged potatoes. The wedged potatoes were really good. I enjoyed the sauce it came with for the first few bites and then switched to ketchup, since it was a bit too oily for me. The goddess bowl was our favourite dish. It was filling and came with tofu, beets, carrots, kale, brown rice, tamari, and a cashew ginger sauce. The flavours were fantastic and I highly recommend this bowl. The Holiday bowl was my least favourite dish. It came with savoury jackfruit, stuffing, kale, dried cranberries, a lemon tahini sauce, rice and sweet potatoes. The lemon tahini sauce was good but I felt like this dish was missing substance. It didn't have too much protein and the flavours didn't do it for me. I really enjoyed how they had a lot of drink options to choose from including Tonica Kombucha. Would we go back? Definitely but we won't get the Holiday bowl again.

    Smoothie Bowls are dope

The dishes here are insanely good. I hate how they're not opened on Monday. Wish they'd be open on Monday. Smoothie Bowls are top notch. Highly reccomend them over regular smoothies. The Goddess and Power Bowls are classic faves. Been an avid customer for a few years now. Can't stop ordering it. Make sure to stack tons of hemp seeds and throw some tempeh on your dishes and you can easily get 30-40g of protein for the bowls. Literally writing this because Im too lazy to cook right now (Monday) and really craving a nice jungle or blue wave smoothie bowl.

Great food and definitely to be tried out if you are vegan. Food: They have quite a substantial menu. We went for Turmeric Blendie and Blue Goddess to start with. Turmeric Blendie was great. Very homely and the froth on top just elevated the humble nutritious drink. Turmeric has some amazing medicinal values as well - so a great choice for morning breakfast. Blue Goddess was great too. For the food, we went for GF Pancakes with Blueberries and Bananas, a Power Bowl and a BLAT sandwich. GF Pancakes with Blueberries and Bananas were absolutely delicious. They claim to make the best pancakes in the town and I'm quite sure those are the best in town. Power Bowl was very good, especially the mushrooms and the sweet potatoes. However, the BLAT didn't impress as much. While the ingredients were great but they slide off the sandwich as you pick it up which made it messy to eat - not a good thing to make a great sandwich. Ambiance: They have good seating capacity but it's too congested. Many tables cramped up in a small space. There are tables with high chairs as well as regular tables as well. But as I saw, many people just do a takeaway. Staff: The staff is quite good and friendly. The gentleman on the floor, greeting the customers, walked us through the menu and how to go about ordering. He got into a little chat to know us better. Considering that he wasn't surprised us coming all the way from Toronto, I guess he must be routinely having customers from the Toronto and the Niagara area. The service was quite good and quick. There is a public parking lot close the restaurant which is free on weekends. In addition, there is plenty of street parking on both sides of the streets.

    Superhero Smoothie 20oz.
    Juan P.

Long time no see Yelpers! I'm in the low key hippie downtown Burlington. Hungry and trying... trying.... to eat healthy. So for today I got a wonderful Superhero Smoothie composed of mangos, bananas, turmeric root, ginger, spinach, coconut water and coconut oil. You can literally taste the ginger and tuneful. But it's balanced out with the sweetness of the mango and banana. If there wasn't any sweet taste then it would be spicy and throat burning haha. I also got avocado fries. Love them!!!

    The nachos were solid
    Jace F.

Creative and vast menu, with a lot of fun spin-offs and and overall good vibe. The food is good. I sampled the nachos (excellent), avocado fries (surprisingly disappointing, maybe the seasoning?), and Cali burger (very good). I also opted for the only non-banana smoothie in the Blue Goddess (good). I didn't have room for any dessert at the end, but I was eyeing those chocolate coconut treats. The food is fresh and well prepared. The service is excellent and very friendly. The outside seating is also a nice perk. Good food, somewhat premium prices, but the quality is there. For a vegetarian/vegan - you really can't go wrong. Keep doing you, fam!

If it' happens to be full, there is a very large municipal parking lot less than a block away on Elizabeth Street. Paradiso is located in Village Square but faces the street the only place to the west of it that separates it from the Municipal Parking is the nice little boutique style LCBO on the corner of Elizabeth and Pine Streets. We have been going here for many years I'm going to say it's been 20 years or very close maybe more for the ever changing menu. The Chef changes it by the seasons so you are always in for a delicious surprise and selections. The only minus I'd say is their wine list by the bottle it is seriously overpriced. The least expensive bottle of Cab-is $55 ( $14.95 @ The LCBO). Although it hasn't kept us away. My husband ordered it regardless he enjoys a bottle of wine with his dinner. I don't drink so I'm a Perrier or similar gal. Our dinners were outstanding and well priced. They start you off with the most delicious yellow bread it reminded me of cornbread but no corn it's thick like cake cut in wide 1" strips and just as high. It's served with a balsamic vinaigrette for dipping. I could keep eating that . I must ask what type it is on our next visit My husband had the Seafood Pasta which Spaghettini Pescatore consisting of Spaghettini with a white wine cream sauce, shrimp (3 large) , calamari and Atlantic salmon. Not a lot of seafood however only $32 so I'm not complaining. I had the Pickled Beet Salad- basil whipped feta, mixed greens, pickled beets, spice toasted almond crumble with a balsamic vinaigrette $16 and I added a marinated chicken skewer $9 extra. Other choices were garlic shrimp, oven baked salmon ,, grilled sirloin and seared ahi tuna - all $9 to $16 (salmon). All very well priced . For dessert I had the Aftgiuto $9 - also delicious - a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream with a side of espresso to pour over it so yummy! My husband's was huge- Salted Pecan Caramel Tart $14 ( more like a pie than a tart,I had to take pictures. Topped with French Vanilla Ice Cream, warm caramel sauce. I tried it, absolutely amazing . We had a great table for two at the very back of the restaurant it was quiet and quaint. Also extremely close to the restrooms which is always handy. We highly recommend Paradiso for lunch or dinner but remember reservations are a must. Keep in mind that the kitchen closes at 9:00p.m.. They won't kick you out but reserve accordingly. We were there two weeks ago Saturday and were shocked that it was completely full right after Christmas in early January and in this economy but as I mentioned earlier it is really affordable. I was also shocked that we had 6:30 reservations and it was 9:00 when we were leaving after our lovely leisurely dinner. We will be back very soon. Below is my husband with his amazing salted caramel pecan tart topped with French vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce. The picture I took of it looking down on it you can see what I mean how it is more of a pie than a tart, it's huge. I had a bite of it and even just one bite is so satisfying and beyond delicious it convinces you it's worth every penny . I'd love to order it however it is far too large for me. I wish my husband would share but he loved it far too much to share. Who can blame him? When you go you must try it. We are really into salted caramel desserts but believe me when I say "this the very best salted caramel anything that we ever had, it dances on your tastebuds and I truly mean that". Don't think about it just make your reservations on YELP or call today. Remember Valentine's is just 4 weeks away if you want to take your Sweetheart there for Valentine's you had better make your reservations now.... If it's not too late already. You don't need to thank me just go and enjoy a wonderful affordable dinner. And if you haven't been there before I know that you will become a regular even after just one visit !

We were seated on the second level in a booth, which had the large window opened all of the way. There were three children and two adults in our party therefore, we were given both children and adult menus to order from. My son settled on the chicken fingers with fries, while my daughter chose the hamburger with fries. I decided on the avocado dip with nachos, although the dip wasn't really a dip, as it was chunkier than I had liked. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive, which wasn't too long however, the kids were a tad restless having to wait. Both of my children's dishes had a large amount of fries, with only a small amount of chicken strips and hamburger. My avocado dip had an overflow of nachos, yet not a lot of avocado. It also had too much onion, which made the dish taste strong. The service was good throughout our entire stay, with the server checking on us periodically to make sure that we were okay. The food was mediocre, and definitely not worth the price that we had paid. Overall, would most likely not return to this restaurant. To be honest, we only dined here as it was the closest to the movie theatre that we were at therefore, it wasn't our first choice initially.

They even asked the sous chef to make sure the presentation was excellent; he didn't disappoint. Their menu changes seasonally. I ordered the following: 1. Coke ($). 2. Tempura Shrimp ($27). 3. Crispy Duck Leg Confit & Breast ($46). 4. Saskatoon Berry Cheesecake ($14). The Tempura Shrimp were tiger shrimp and were so plump, each about 1 inch diameter at the widest end! They were de-shelled and tempura battered. There were orange slices (orange), avocado slices (green), and chili slices (red), making the dish colourful. The Crispy Duck came with a leg and sliced breast portions. Accompanying them were tamarillo, sunchoke puree, bordelaise, dried kale chips, berry gastrique, and chopped candied pecans. All the ingredients worked well together, with mixtures of savoury and sweet tastes. The Cheesecake was amazing. The cheesecake itself was an upside-down half sphere. It was soft; I prefer that over the typical firm cake. There were miniature dried berries on top, along with a ruby chocolate sauce, and a sliced of dried red beet. Surrounding it was a soft marshmallow meringue which was lightly torched. The colour theme was red and white with a touch of dark blue. Daimon, the sous chef, plated everything expertly for me. There is plenty of indoor seating, of which one side has a view of the lake. There is lively music playing in the background. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms. There is free street parking on weekends on a street running north of the restaurant. There is also a paid parking lot next to the restaurant. At the recommendation of the service staff, I ordered the Crab Cake Egg Benedict (lemon aïoli, boston lettuce, chive hollandaise), served for weekend brunch only. Similar to my previous meals here, the food had subtle layers of flavour that came together nicely with every bite. I tend to gravitate to food that I can't get at other restaurants. The server informed us that the meal was not served on brioche like the other Egg Benedict's, but I was still full with the side salad (yeh, no arugula). My husband ordered the side fries so his belly was full. There were two crab cakes with eggs, and plenty of crab inside. I was glad that I didn't taste fillers. Service was good and we sat at a table with a waterfront view. The Sloane tea and beverages were a pricey and small for what they were, hence one of the reasons I don't come here as frequently. Overall, I enjoy the food here.
