Came here on a Thursday for lunch right when they opened. There is still lots of construction on lakeshore so you do need to walk from the parking lot. It took about 25 minutes for them to make my food so if you're in a hurry do let them know. I ordered the halloumi sandwich and the mama shawarma plate The halloumi sandwich was perfectly soft and chewy just like really halloumi cheese even though it's vegan and made from tofu! They had recommended I order it and I am glad I did because it didn't stand out to me initially on the menu. The condiments in the sandwich went really well as well. I do highly recommend ordering this! The mama shawarma plate will satisfy any shawarma craving, of course while being plant based. The soy curls were perfectly seasoned and tender. The lentil rice went perfectly well with the soy curls and the sauce. The salad was tasty with vegan feta cheese. I highly recommend ordering this if you are a first timer. I had also wanted to order the cauliflower bites but they mentioned it was going to take too long to make since they had to make it from fresh so I often not to since I was in a hurry. I was a bit skeptical of our trip to the Oakville area as to what quality of vegan cuisine we would be able to find. Luckily I have a special lady friend who is also pretty killer at finding decent locations to eat and she brought me here. This is a very cozy but elegant cafe style restaurant. Orders are placed at the counter and then brought to you. While small there is definitely attention to detail in the decor (I just love the table patterns). My recommendation is to scope out the menu before you go but in all honesty you likely can not go wrong with any of your orders. Plus the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable about the meals. With meals that leave you full and prices that won't break the bank if you happen to find yourself in Oakville (or live there) and want some great vegan dishes this is definitely a must visit. read more

Located downtown Oakville, they have a small seating area indoors and a patio out front. Cute little spot close to many shops! We ordered their vegan shawarma bowls and kofta bowls. The portions were good but in terms of the flavours it wasn't authentic. Also their macarona bechamel (marketed as Egyptian lasagna) was not good at all as it was overly seasoned and had internally no ground meat in it. We also got their mint lemonade and that was decent! It feels like they are trying to capture the vegan/vegetarian crowd but sadly just missing the point on flavours! So, I finally got to order lunch from Dar Nabati after being a follower of their Instagram page since before they even opened! I already had really high expectations and hopes before I opened up my skip the dishes app to peruse their menu. I was working in the Oakville area and I was dead set on giving these guys a try. For lunch, I ordered their vegan BLT, brownie, chips and a soda. I apologize for the poor photo quality (I had to take a sneak shot while sitting at my desk) but HOLY COW YOU GUYS IT WAS GOOD. Rarely do I ever take a bite of something and have to stop chewing to ask myself "Did they mess up my order? Because I'm pretty sure the menu said vegan bacon but this tastes like the real thing right now and it's freaking me out in the best way possible ...". That's right, this place has their vegan bacon on POINT. The BLT was fantastic. It was served on organic sourdough bread with vegan bacon, vegan cheddar cheese, tomato and greens. After heating it up a little, it was heaven in my mouth. I ate it so enthusiastically that I nearly choked on it. Whoops. The brownie was soooooooo good as well. Do you see the size of that thing? Yeah. Amazing. Cakey with chunks of chocolate inside, mmmmm. I want another one. Overall, it was fantastic. I want to try more. And I want to support small vegan businesses more! The food here is excellent. It's a small little shop with a homely feel and it feels like family is serving you. I've had their "classic" breakfast and the shasuka (spelling is probably way off). The classic breakfast is the vegan take on eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns. The "eggs" were spot on and 85% tasted like eggs, 95% looked like it. The "bacon" was pretty good too. In terms of the shasuka, it's basically beans in tomato sauce with vegan eggs. Very simple dish, but refreshing at the same time. While the place is slightly pricey, it is reasonable considering the amount of effort that is need to make the dishes. Been here twice now, will be back for a third time again. read more

This was my first visit to Dar Nabati. I really liked this restaurant. I came for the convenience, but was genuinely impressed by the food. The place was spotless, presented very well, and I found the staff to be very knowledgeable. It's hard to find specialty restaurants that can appeal to a larger audience, but I can say that I was impressed with the menu. The menu is vegan and offers a lot of gluten free options. I had the falafel balls with quinoa. The falafel was baked and was nice and light. It was served with a nice tahini sauce and was accompanied by a nice small salad. I found it quite filling and very pleasant. I was also able to pick up some gluten free donuts, brownies and s'more desserts for my wife and son. These were also surprisingly nice and very flavourful. This restaurant has strived to be a place for people who struggle with allergies and scents. They also carry specialty cleaning products and soaps that may be a good fit if you have severe allergies. I found this to be another great place for me to stop at while I am in Oakville. 5 stars. read more

The food was delicious! I had the soy shawarma on rice and lentils and it was easily one of the best vegan meals I've tasted in the area! I also had he cardamom chai latte and I normally don't drink lattes but it was delicious! The prices are good too so it's good value for what you get. It's a nice cafe vibe...my only issue is that it's the slowest service. For a cafe style where you order at the counter service should be quick but we waited almost 40 minutes for two items! Reducing two stars for the slow service but hopefully they can fix that kink because it is a new business so it will probably take time to become fast. read more

A simply unique place that you can enjoy even if you are not vegan. Everything taste really good, and the substitutes for meats are working really well with rice or other carbs they offer. The prices though are a bit too high for a cafe that doesn't offer table service. Two people eat for almost $50 including only two drinks. read more

I've ordered food from Dar Nabati 2 times and the food was good both times. I've tried the butter chicken, BLT, za'atar manakeesh, chai bliss balls, and chocolate croissant. Loved the butter chicken and BLT--it really did taste like real bacon. I didn't really like the za'atar manakeesh much. The chai bliss balls were tasty and they weren't super sweet. They did have a strong clove flavour though. The chocolate croissant was huge and tasted amazing! Definitely my favourite. Overall, I like their food so far and I look forward to trying more of their dishes in the future. read more

I am not from the area but I have been following their Instagram page for months so I was really excited for this trip to Oakville! My friend and I both ordered the Mama's Shawarma Plate and WOW. I wish I was able to get a photo before we both inhaled all the food! The portions were HUGE, filling and most importantly, DELICIOUS! The food tasted so fresh and was filled with so much flavour. We both literally ate every single piece of food on our plate. The prices on their menu also looked very fair for its quality and big portions. We also saw they sell baked goods and a lot of vegan products and art stuff! Lastly, the customer service was wonderful! Amazing food. We stopped by here because the restaurant we were heading to was closed......and I'm glad! Great quality food.....tasted fabulous, clean and fresh. I hate healthy food: Always disappointing, and pricey! I also hate eating badly when I'm on-the-go. This place has changed my existence. Everything tastes fantastic and doesn't cost a fortune! You can order in advance & pick up, or eat-in with lovely helpful friendly staff with outstanding foods & options. I love this vegan cafe! I will definitely be returning many more times. The chocolate croissants are excellent, especially warmed up. The philly cheesesteak is full of flavour and the plant-based cheese on it is great. I've never had manakeesh before and loved both the za'atar spread and groundless beef versions. read more

Awesome cinnamon buns! This new vegan restaurant just opened on Lakeshore in Oakville and I went in to try some baked goods. The staff were really friendly and suggested the cinnamon buns. Let's get something straight. I usually hate vegan food, especially any meat substitute. I find it usually bland and out right disgusting, but god damn, I have their chicken shawarma and I don't know what it was but it was amazing. Well season, cooked well, and not awful vegan chicken which is my main turnoff for vegan meats. Definitely recommend. Only reason I am taking a star away is because it has a small eating area and the tables and bar seating is really squished together. I could read the guy's phone who was at a table behind me and he wouldn't even know that I was doing it. Overall though I would go again read more
