Easily one of the best barber shops in North county. Family owned and operated by the Zermeno's, some of the most genuine people you could meet. For me personally, being half African-American decent I am very picky/specific about how my hair looks and Jensen (one of the barber's) always takes his time cuts my hair perfect every time! I couldn't picture myself going to a different barber shop for a very long time! The shop is located on the 101 in Encinitas so it's very easy to miss. Parking can be kind of a pain in the a** but these factors aren't enough for me to give this review less than 5 stars. The shop also has skateboarding, surfing, and vintage tattoo art intertwined with its atmosphere welcoming all locals to come in and easily create new friendships all while enjoying a great haircut! With all this being said, I highly advise calling before you visit the shop for your 1st cut because this place gets busy and can be quite the wait at times. read more

I've been coming to this shop since I moved to the area in 2007, so I've naturally known Linda, her late husband, and her boys (who've taken over). They're exceptional! Some may deem the prices to be expensive, but I beg to differ as they are extremely attentive to each customer and take care in grooming folks. I'm glad that they've survived the pandemic as I will continue to frequent them as long as they remain open. We came across Leucadia Barber Shop at the Encinitas street fair. They were doing haircuts for $20 and my son decided to go for it. We were so impressed! It was finally time for another cut so we went down to the actual shop. The shop is located right in the middle of Leucadia, really easy to find! There are a handful of spots right in front and the remainder is street parking. There were 4 barbers when we went in and all were working. There wasn't a sign in sheet but they kept a really great eye on who walked in when and accommodated accordingly. When it came time for my son's cut I explained what he wanted and Emiliano was very thorough on what to expect with pricing (CASH ONLY - they do have an ATM inside but there is a service fee) since he wanted a design, etc. I waited and watched excitedly for roughly 20-25 min (no problem for this Mama, I always bring a book). Needless to say, Emiliano knocked t out of the park! My son is so happy and was complimented all day! We will be back for sure! read more

Finding a new Barber is always a task when moving to a new town/city and after 5/6 different barber shops explored here in SD I've finally found one that offers excellence and customer satisfaction in every aspect of what a barber shop should aspire to. Leucadia is a great old school barber shop. When Real Barber Shop closed, I decided to give their sister location a try. I wasn't disappointed. They delivered the same high quality and reasonable prices. It meant 15 minutes more in the car but the extra drive time also landed me in one of my favorite beach towns. I have been several times now. Although I prefer Linda the owner, all of the cuts I have gotten from the other barbers have been good. I rarely have had to wait more than 10 minutes when I go during the day. It's quick, easy and good. read more

For a barber shop, it's terrific. $15 gets me a great haircut. I forget the lady's name (despite the fact that I go there monthly), but she's really nice and more importantly, gives an amazing cut. $20 out the door (that's with a $5 tip), does me nicely. No need to go anywhere else. Sure, the place is rustic and old-fashioned, but that's what makes it good 'ol funky Leucadia-style! My barber of 15+ years had serious health issues, and I needed a new shop. Was a bit nervous and hit up friends for recommendations. Based on one strong referral from one friend, I decided to try Leucadia Barber Shop. Bottom line: 5 of 5. Great haircut, great guys, great location. Found my new shop. Done and done. Details: I was on a regular cadence of a haircut every 5 weeks with the same guy, same chair. Happy groove. Sadly, he fell ill and groove-interrupted. Because it took me a while to pound the pavement and find some new options, i was about 4-5 weeks overdue for cut... which meant my scalp was hold down a big hot mess. Walked in (no appointment necessary, but called in advance to see if there's an open chair) and got Juan, the owners son (or... one of them that works there). He did a great job, was great about walking me through the steps he was taking as he learned more about my wants, as well as weird aspects of my unruly mane. He took his time, was detailed and thorough, and ended with a neck shave that gave me a smart, clean look. Awesome. Will be going there again. read more

Got a hair cut today, not at all what my boy friend and I asked to get done we asked for short on the sides and to only take an inch off the top and then barber Juan proceeded to cut about five inches off the top leaving only like half and inch to and inch of hair left. Not mad at the hair cut but would appreciate if they would take the time to listen and actually do what we asked for. We even showed pictures.
