His quote was reasonable, and his work was fantastic - from patching three small drywall holes and painting only that section of a wall, to clean-up of various nicks and scratches previously incurred, to completely changing the paint color in one of our bedrooms... the patches are not visible, the ceiling lines were clean, blending was nearly invisible, he worked quickly and efficiently, and he performed all cleanup. Our experience was so good that we have now requested a quote to paint the exterior of our home in the coming months and will be working with him for future interior paint jobs in the future. In addition Jeff's crew refurbished our deck using the Behr product "Deck Over". I never questioned materials or cost until the end I asked for an itemized bill for materials used and they became very defensive and told me in all their years of work they have never had to prove their purchases. During the project, once they instilled the floors in the kitchen, when I went to check it was very uneven. I could feel a massive area that dipped and I knew this was going to be an issue long term. Robert insisted that they would not redo this area and that this is just common with condo buildings. The flooring in my kitchen cracked not even a month into living there. My living room space has multiple scratches and holes everywhere. This is not normal for spending over $14,000 on flooring and labor. Moving on to wainscotting. When we agreed they would do the walls, he told me painting would be included and he would go over it twice. His team painted the walls for the first time and I Hated the color it was so yellow when everything was finished. I called and kindly asked him if he could go over it with a paint that we BOUGHT completely. He said yes. Kindly I thought we understood that we would not be charged since they had to go over it a second time anyway! AND WE BOUGHT the material of paint. But instead he blindly billed me another $600 without ever clarifying. Lastly, his team ripped off all my closet doors to get flooring into the closets. They did not take into account or gave a shit that they completely ripped open the holes in my ceiling to the point where all my closet doors have been hanging on by a thread all year after their project and now has come down and I need to find a way to re drill holes in different areas to get new doors up. The project from start to finish was a complete scam. The customer service was piss poor. I'm truly disappointed. Being a young girl in Chicago planning for my wedding trusting a company to remodel my room and dishing out OVER $20,000 that I wasn't expecting all for me to have to piss out more money to fix everything that went wrong is so disheartening.

We hired DH Concrete for a 28x10 patio in Sept 2020. We debated between plain cement finish and Gull Gray, while he advised about the Gull Gray finish and the much more polished look it would provide. We agreed to his $400 additional fee for the GG finish (this was just for the color, the project itself was much more). WITHIN ONE WEEK of the work completion, and only 1 minor rainfall, the patio looked horrible and is what you see in the first few pictures. After several calls/texts to Javier, he came to see the unpolished and splotchy finish. He then came back with a rep, Bill, from Welch Brothers (one of his vendors) and one of his DH employees. Bill advised us that there had to be a chemical applied to the concrete as the color was underneath the existing layer but suggested the chemical not be applied until May of this year. Javier agreed that this was something he would handle and all agreed that the work was not adequate. We were frustrated that we had a bad looking patio but we appreciated that they agreed that the patio looked bad and some steps would need to be taken on their part to get the results we contracted DH for originally. We agreed to wait until May of this year, and trust Javier De Hoyos to fulfill his contract and agreement. My husband reached out to Javier in May to confirm details and we have several texts whereby Javier confirms the chemical was ordered, the chemical was ready, and that he'd be coming over soon. Long story - he never intended to finish his job. Up until last week, he replied to our text and stated he'd be here on a Friday, and when Friday came, I texted him and he said he was not coming by- that the work was not needed over "manchas" ("stains" in Spanish) . He also said he never said he was coming by - which makes me question if something else is going on since days before he himself texted confirming the date he was coming. I tried to make sure I understood what he was saying, and called but he ignored my 2 calls and voice message. The finish looks amateur and cheap (and we can assure you, his fee was not cheap). Javier De Hoyos is unprofessional, and as far as his work - well these pictures speak for themselves. I am still reviewing my other options - at the very least he can refund our "upgrade" fee for the GG finish. Something to mention, I became focused with my mom's deteriorating health in May and June and did not reach out to him to request he get the job completed with a specific date (although my husband would send texts requesting status on the chemical order) - and looking back I think Javier was hoping we'd forget about everything. Well, my mom passed away in June, and after handling some family priorities, we reached out to him to confirm a date - and I see now he was not expecting us to follow up, nor was he going to fix the mess. I am just stunned at how he handled the situation and treated us.
