I have been coming here for 6 years. I come every 5 - 6 weeks. In a year, that's about 9-10 times a year. My serivce went from $130 to $220, so that's around $2,000 a year I pay them. Again, I love the person who works on my hair. Out of the 6 years, I have only rescheduled my appointment 2 or 3 times. I always go. I make arrangements to get out of work to go, I cancel other plans when I get the reminder text, I GO when the appointment is. However, once I woke up with a migraine. My injection wasn't working so I went to urgent care and then to ER. My appointment was in the evening, so when I woke up with a headache, I called to reschedule. The other time a family member had a stroke and the family was all going to the hospital. BOTH times when I called to reschedule after explaining what happened, I was given a lecture about a 48 hour cancellation policy and how they were going to have to charge me since it wasn't over 48 hours. But, they were going to waive it this time. I don't have 48 hour notice when I'm going to wake up with a migraine. I don't have 48 hour notice when a family member is having a stroke or heart attack needing 5 stents. I have called within 30 hours notice, but they assured me the policy is 48 hours. I understand you're trying to keep the space filled, not pay for when a person has down time. I work for a service business, I understand when people no show or cancel. I get it. But this lecture just seems really too much especially when I am calling because something is going on. So the last time I got the lecture I just said I think I'm going to find somewhere else because god forbid there is some other last minute emergency and I have to reschedule I'm actually afraid to call, I want to avoid it because it's so unpleasant to get the stern nasty lecture from the front desk. I hate the idea of having to leave the person who does an EXCELLENT job on my hair because of this bullcrap but I guess I have to because this bullcrap feels worse. I'm really sorry that Young Attitudes decided to take this approach. It's always been such a pleasant and wonderful salon. But this makes going there feel untenable.

When I expressed my concerns, she said it was "pretty," but that doesn't change that it wasn't what I requested. She offered for me to come back, but after this experience, the trust isn't there. She also required me to pay through Venmo as a Friends payment even though this was a business service, which leaves customers without any protection. If this happens to you, you can report it directly to Venmo, and you can submit concerns about improper business practices through the IRS's public tip form.(IRS Form 3949-A -- Information Referral) Based on my experience, I wouldn't return.

They asked me to sit on one of the chairs and gave me a robe while the colorist is finishing up a customer. They took a picture of my hair and suggested a color that I agreed with. My scalp is super sensitive but was surprised that their solution did not give me that burning feeling on my scalp. After 40 minutes, someone else rinsed my hair and she was very nice. After the rinse, they walk you to where the blow dryer is and you have to dry it yourself or pay $50 extra for them to blow dry for you. They give you products you can use for your hair while brow drying. I like this place but will only be a back up and will go back to my usual stylist when she comes back from leave.

I have naturally dark blonde or light brown hair. Once my balayage grew out, I booked an appointment with Jenny for a touch-up, and right away we talked about what she could do for my hair. Rather than just touching up my existing balayage, she listened to my desire to go blonder and did an AMAZING job. The pricing at this salon is similar to other salons in the area (if not slightly less expensive considering the level of blonde I got done). Plus, Jenny (and the surrounding stylists) made the whole experience a fun one. They included me in conversations, played good music, and treated me like they would a friend. The parking situation is a bit tricky because there is only two hour parking with meters outside the salon. So, I had to move my car once so that I wouldn't get a ticket. When Jenny was finishing up styling my hair, I noticed my second parking was about to expire. Another stylist, Niki, immediately went out to where my car was and graciously paid for another hour (even though I didn't need that much time) so that I wouldn't get a ticket. I know the meter didn't cost much, but found that to be really generous and showed the salon's commitment to taking care of their customers. All in all, I had a great time and will be going back in the future!
