Every single time I'm in this store, the sales people are borderline rude to outright rude. I was just there and again RUDE! I had to hunt someone down to get me another size..I was told the store didn't have that size (no offer to try another wash in the same size or to order for me). The employees here are all too quick to call Levi's products not bought here "outlet." Kinda snobby, but I get it. This is a company store selling all-things Levi's with eye-popping prices, but they're always running some kind of 20-30% off everything sale just to keep you here instead of buying nearly the same thing at Macy's or Kohl's. A lot of what's here are their premium fabrics and unavailable from "outlets." They even have the pricey Japanese Selvedge denim (the fabric looks stiff, rough texturally, and uncomfortable) and a lot of what they call "historic" jeans. Th employees I've met have all been extremely friendly, and I love the Tailor Shop, where you can order alterations, add appliqués and change out buttons & patches. read more

I didn't like that they don't have at least try on sizes for petites! they just have standard sizes and you can order through the store to ship to your home for free which is great but I wanted to try stuff on that would be my size. It was kind of a waste for me to go there, I still don't actually know my size and how their jeans fit on my 5'2" size. I tried other brands - 7 for all mankind at nordstroms and it was a much better experience. I probably won't come back here. read more

Adam, the kid that does the embroidery, is someone you should stay away from. He said he could replicate a logo for me. Charged me $80. Went to pick it up when he said it was done. It looked very different than the original logo. I asked if he could fix it - especially the last letter since it was almost on top of the previous letter and the letter itself was extremely uneven. He said, "No, I'm leaving this location soon and I don't want to fix it." If you enjoy doing business with Karens, go see Adam. After discovering Levi's Demi Curve jeans in Glasgow (and paying roughly double for a pair given the unfavorable $ to £ ratio), I was hooked on their flattering fit. When work called me to Chicago, I put a stop at the Levi's store on my short list. I carried seven pairs into the fitting room, in all manner of styles but with the help of Adam I discovered that the Demi Curve was the only one for me. Adam's incredible depth of knowledge and honest assessments - I overheard him tell one woman that the jeans she had on would be appropriate for grocery shopping but perhaps not a night on the town - were awesome and I ended up purchasing two pairs (for about the same price as one had cost me in Scotland.) I went into the store and some African American people were complaining to the manager. They were a little bit annoying, obviously upset! After about 5 minutes, give or take a few minutes, the white manager AKA Karen called the police on them! I work in the restaurant industry and couldn't imagine calling the cops on people who annoy me! The escalation of the situation was felt racially motivated! I've been a fan of this brand ever since high school but, stop wearing them after wards. I had no idea there was an official Levi's store until, I did the occasional shopping down the Avenue. This place is definitely better shop in, than the regular department stores. The staff very friendly and are eager to assist if anything nonetheless, costumers seem to know their denim (I got schooled about jeans!) Also, while shopping I discovered that there is actual laundry detergent especially made for denim. read more

Wow, this place has tons of jeans. Who would have thought that there would be so many varieties of blue jeans? There are two plush armchairs to sit on in front of the waiting room that are pretty comfy. The staff seems pretty friendly. I liked the music they played in the store. I was here with my boyfriend to find a pair of jeans for him, and I found a pair on the 50% off clearance rack for $20. At half off, they were only $10! Wow, what a great deal. read more

Needing or wanting a pair of a 501 jeans, I had stopped into the Levi's Store on Michigan Avenue. The store is very well laid out and spaced out. You will have plenty of room to roam about. Very cool vibe to this store. I was able to locate the 501 section. I really couldn't decide between two sizes and I really wanted to try them on. No one around - I saw couple associates talking in the back of the store, no one at the counter and couple more associates refolding items in a distance. I keep looking around for assistance. Nothing. Decided I would need to buy both, try them on and return the one I didn't care for. Went to the counter to pay for them. I had asked about the return policy and stated I really wanted to try them on so the associate had grabbed both pair of jeans and told me to follow him. I will say, he had a fast walking pace. He took me to (apparently the dressing area - NO SIGNAGE). Closed the door. End of him. After trying both on and deciding which pair I would purchase, I was just doing more browsing. Someone (I believe a manager) came over and asked if I needed assistance looking for jeans. A little late..... Took the jeans to the check out counter. The associate asked if anyone helped me today - NO. There was another question he had asked about the service - same answer - NO. While at the counter, I was still trying to log into Yelp and I mentioned what I was trying to do and he just giggled. I would need to return to the store for the jean but don't expect any customer service. read more

Such a spectacularly frustrating experience. I needed black jeans for a same day outing and since I'm a larger size I called ahead to confirm they carried my size. The man on the phone assured me they carried my size in all their core styles. I run over there on my lunch break and after searching through several piles I cannot find my size anywhere. I stood around for a few minutes at the cash wrap trying to find someone to help me. A guy who had watched me stand there for a few min it es while he checked his outfit eventually wandered over and asked if I needed help. I called ahead, on looking for black jeans size 16- I was told you have many I can't find them. Well I need more information than that- what style? I guess I usually go with a skinny leg. He proceeds to then try to sell me a smaller size in 3 different styles since they did not in fact carry my size as I had been told. When I ask for other options that actually are in my size he sort of rolls his eyes and goes, well we have tons of fits. I don't know if he was just a jerk or cuz he's a man and doesn't understand how variable women's bodies can be, but bottom line the guy was unhelpful and dismissive. Train your staff how to help customers that aren't familiar with your entire product line and actually check your stock when someone takes the time to check with you before and at least have one woman in the damn store that can help the women who come in read more

If you're looking for a specific Levi's jeans by their code and type, I suggest you either go online or visit a different branch than this. Levi's is the brand that stuck with me since middle school. The Original 501's and the slim straight 511's were my top choices. And for my personal fulfillment, their vintage collections are what I hunt for in special occasions. The day I visited this Levi's store for the second time was that occasion. The employees are there (maybe 3 or 4) in the mid-size space, but none of them bats an eye to help their customers. They don't seem busy, just checked out. I asked one of the workers where they have the Vintage collections, and he stood there for a while until he finally said he thinks there's just one "over there somewhere," as he pointed at the 501 corner. Those are 501's, I told him. He said, in a condescending way, "Yeah. I know. And that's where it is. We have just one over there. Go see for yourself." Have I offended him? Haha. They didn't have the one I wanted. They also didn't have any solid blue 511's, only faded black and bleached blue ones with very strange patch design all over the jeans. The same worker seemed to be annoyed by me when I asked for assistance for the second time. He said they don't have blue 511's there, go to a different store and I'll find some. Levi Strauss & Co. didn't make jeans for the last 146 years to demonstrate such lack of professionalism. Two stars for now, as I found a pair of 501's I wanted. read more

I have been a loyal Levi's wearer...since I graduated from "toughskins" from Sears. Have worn any other brands. That being said, this store underwhelmed. The selection is better at a Sears. The lack of colors color choices was shocking. Much better selection at the outlet store in Gurnee. Add to that the sales staff was non-existent. Wait for the sales. You can score some of the higher end jeans at ridiculously cheap prices. They carry alot of the higher end Levis here, but honestly, if you want some regular Levis, go to Sears. A pair of straight leg jeans at the Levis store can be bought at half the price. Same jeans at the Levis store are the same ones at Sears. Bought a pair of jeans and had them customized by the in-store taylor. Total came out to more than $100. Don't be fooled by this scam. These pants only lasted me 3 wears. Finally a place that inspired me enough to write a review on yelp! I love the Levis store, very organized, the staff is helpful but not pushy, and the goods are reasonably priced. Great return policy as well. My only complaint about the store is that i wish more of the styles offered online would be offered in the store. Perhaps if we all boycott "designer" jeans and buy Levis instead they will have the resources for an expansion of inventory! The small three-way mirrors in these should be federally mandated. They're like magic -- you can see your derriere in full 360, right inside your dressing room. They are perfectly placed and despite their small size, they worked brilliantly. Ladies, ask for Alex. He seems like he's kind of the "fixer". You try on whatever you want, whatever you're used to buying. And then out of no where, he just rolls in and says, I think you need to do the following... and then brings you three different pairs in two different sizes, and then is like a denim therapist. What's your hang up with jeans? Alex can help you get over it and help you find the jeans of your dreams. Tons of great blouses and a few shirt dresses for the ladies, and wonderful leather boots and bags for men and women. I was long overdue for some new jeans and wandered into the Levi's store on Michigan Avenue on a Saturday afternoon. The place was reasonably busy. Nonetheless I was greeted by a friendly sales person who patiently helped me figure out the right jeans for me. I wandered about the place and any time I had a question there was someone nearby to assist. The people handling the dressing rooms were just as good. So even though the store was busy I never felt ignored. I lingered longer than I expected and am pleased with my purchases. Score one for a well run brick and mortar establishment. read more

Just past 'metallic Micheal Jackson wanna be' on Michigan Avenue, is the Levi's store. I walked in and was instantly overwhelmed by the fact two of the four walls were completely lined with denim from top to bottom. The staff was completely attentive but not overwhelming. If you're ass can't find a pair of decent fitting jeans at this place, you've got some issues. The absurd thing was how many women were trying to squeeze their asses into skinny jeans, when they had absolutely no right to do so. Do us a favor folks if you need to lube your legs with butter to fit into a super skinny, it may not be the right size or fit for you. I had ordered a couple of jeans online that didn't quite fit. I knew I needed the next size up but in a 30 inch inseam so on a lovely Saturday I decided to fight the tourist crowds and head to the Levi's store to make my exchange. I was approached immediately by a sales associate upon entering who was more than happy to check the system for my size. Upon returning she informed me that the store does not carry 30" inseam in their limited edition jeans (good to know). What was a bummer is they no longer can credit your account at the store but rather the jeans need to go back to the returns center for processing. But they managed to turn my frown upside down by offering to overnight them for me back to the return center - on them! While I waited for my package to be put together for shipment, another gentleman came over to ask how my experience was and filled me in on the new policy (they were seeing too many online returns which was hurting the stores revenue - makes sense - especially with jeans!). I was told that any online rpurchase can come back to the store and they will handle shipping it back (also good to know for future purchases). I was then granted a copy of my receipt and a tracking number. Both gentlemen who helped me were super friendly and engaging. I was carrying a little herb plant with me, as I had come straight from a wedding shower where it was given as a favor. Both were inquiring as to what kind of plant it was and asking why I was carrying it. When I left the store I thought to myself "man, everyone there was so nice. I should carry an herb plant with me all the time." Then I realized I wasn't wearing a bra. Maybe that's the ticket. But honestly, I have a feeling they're probably that nice all the time - with or without a plant or a bra on. Oh and as an FYI, I am pear shaped with quite a small waist - the Demi Curve jeans are the first jeans I've found that don't gap in the back. They're my go to now - and they DO come in 30" inseam in the store as long as they're of the $78 variety. read more

After hearing wonderful reviews from from friends, I decided to attempt to buy reasonably priced jeans (as in cute jeans under $150)! Epic fail. Not like my body shape is that odd....i mean, hourglass, and not even that extreme- none of the 4 cuts styles worked. Le sigh. I tried asking for advice from the sales girl, and it was like I asked her to perform brain surgery- What? You have problems with gaping at the waist? Hmmm. I thought maybe it was the just the jean style, so I asked the fitting room attendant for help, and it was just awkward. The worst part was them trying to convince me that the jeans looked good. We both know how they look. And 'good' is not a way i would describe the fit. Ugh. And what is up with normal priced jeans, but over-priced tops? I tried. I really, really tried. Just a very bad experience. I didn't know there weren't returns on certain sale items. When I brought I was in a rush and ultimately brought what I like regardless of price. I got home I kept all but 2 pieces being so I had something similar in my closet. Upon return day the guy said no returns on sale items and he literally threw the bag at me. I'm a bit overdue in writing this! In early May, I went jeans shopping with a friend at the Levi's store on Michigan Ave. The sheer volume of jeans in that store is overwhelming! We each grabbed a few pairs and headed to the dressing rooms where me met Alex. He was a game changer! He sized us both up (with his eyes) and knew exactly what size and cut/fit we should try. What can sometimes be an exasperating and embarrassing experience (tho not as bad as swimsuit shopping!) was instantly turned into big fun. Alex was truthful and knowledgeable and funny and he fit us each with jeans that not only look great on, but are comfortable and fit correctly. Thank you, Alex! I love Levi's, but this is a disappointing store. The staff generally seems uninterested in helping, and they don't carry very common sizes in their newest jeans (No size 34s?). But I may be spoiled coming from San Francisco, where the Levi's store is massive and carries everything. I recently stopped in to Levi's because I kept reading about all their new skinny jean styles and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I opted for the straight narrow leg, and they fit perfectly on me. Even better, they were under $50. Quality fit and cut, for less than half the price of the designer denims out there. Also, the staff was really helpful explaining to me all the different styles. Their selection of women's clothing is pretty basic and not too impressive, but their denims are worth checking out. read more
