The true, non assuming dive delta blues bar and jams. Cheap cold beer. Throw your cover charge in the bucket. True experience.

If you like blues and you like history (see Blues Trail), this is as authentic as it gets. We had a wonderful time here and met people from all over the world.

Good solid place to hear the blues. You really feel like you go through a portal to a different time when you walk in the door. Can't wait till I get to go back.

Lucious playing the Blues on his guitar.

It's a great place to hear live music and listen to local artists. Friendly staff. Its not fancy but authentic.

True Blues fans will understand. This is a no frills"juke joint".The best Blues anywhere . Pay at the door and find a seat, maybe or just a place to stand, than get into the coolest blues you'll find anywhere.Grab a cold beer, and turn the heat up.The show goes on till whenever, and if you get hungry the BBQ outside does'nt get any better. This place is legendary. Don't let Red scare you at the door. Best damm party in Clarksdale

Authentic juke joint. Dress down, buy some excellent ribs from the smoker outside and listen to some great music.

This place is the most derelict looking place I've ever walked inside of. The place looks like it could collapse, there is broken stuff and piles of misc. crap in the corners and the bathrooms are about to fall off the back of the building... an architects and Fire Marshall's nightmare. Don't change a thing Red! There are a couple of rows of chairs lined up on 1 side of performing area - no stage just a carpet on the floor - the other side has about 3 small tables and a row of stools. The bar has about 10 crammed short stools in front of it. I imagine it is very claustrophobic when full. When the band started, I was 1 of 9 people there, 18 when I left. I saw a younger blues musician out of Nashville named Robert Eskew play some amazing Blues 3 feet in front of me. Red was behind me tending bar shouting out random things, the lights were off with a few orange stage lights giving a weird glow to the room, random stuff on the walls, and plastic sheets for a ceiling. One of the most surreal and wonderfully authentic nights I've ever experienced. A bridge to another time and culture. It was a $10 cover and 22oz beer bottles were $4 and they only sell beer, set ups for sale if you bring your own liquor.

If you are in Mississippi , and love the blues, you need to experience Red's Juke Joint in Clarksdale. One of the last surviving REAL jukes left in America. It's not the cleanest bar, but once you get in, and the music starts.....all that stuff will disappear. One of my favorite hangs in Clarksdale for years !

5 stars for the experience! I travel alone and it can be awkward to go out. The people here were so friendly and welcoming and the music was great! The BBQ was delicious. The whole experience was like nothing I've ever experienced before and I loved every minute of it.

They smoke some damn good BBQ out front of Reds.

A must go-to spot for authentic Delta Blues. It will not disappoint. We were there for the Juke Joint Festival... also a must go-to.

Of course, their music was what attracted many people over from all over the world, but I can…read morehonestly say that out of the food that I have had, I thoroughly enjoyed it all in terms of taste. It was economical, too, so we had quality food while spending a reasonable amount of money. I had the catfish BLT, which was a simple catfish burger with the most basic ingredients. Yet the catfish itself was so tasty that I didn't even need ketchup or mayo for the burger. It was so seasoned that it definitely made the burger an enjoyable experience. My partner had the kingfish platter which was essentially catfish as well. But then there was a small cup of coleslaw that we both thought was the best we've had, mainly because they didn't use mayo but some kind of vinegar to supplement the taste. And then my partner had the deep fried pecan pie and I had a taste of it. Even though I am not even the biggest fan of pecan pie, I really enjoyed that one and I think it was because the deep fried aspect along with whipped cream complemented the gelatinous material in pecan pies (don't know how to call it). There was music 365 days a week in the club, and particularly we were there during the annual Sunflower River Blues & Gospel Festival, so it was extra special. There were visitors all over the world attending the festival and many great bands played in the club. The amount of mess on the walls in the club speaks to the historically and culturally rich aspect of this club and of this town. Definitely a 5 star experience.

Best catfish I ever ate! Great place for blues music too. Staff here are wonderfulread more

Anyway, if you come here for a concert, you should review this listing. If you come here for the casino or hotel, then you should review that listing just like they do at Horseshoe Casino. Horseshoe has their own concert listing too which is called Bluesville Showcase Nightclub. I came here for the Oak Ridge Boys concert. First of all, I thought the tickets were high. Others were getting theirs for free. But, I had to pay for mine. I was told different prices too. At one time, they told if I come back at a certain time, I might one free or discounted. I did and that didn't happen. Anyway, I enjoyed the concert. They put on a great concert. The seats were nice and comfortable and there was plenty of room unlike other concert venues I have been to. They also sell drinks in the concert area which is different from the casino itself which are mostly comped for tips. They don't have as many concerts in this venue like they do next door at Bluesville. But, they schedule some great entertainers here.

The panoramic view was excellent despite being in the back row I was definately enjoying the Totem & Kurios acts being performed as if I sat 8th row on the sode.
