The petite African American bartender is a complete jerk. If you try to get his attention in any sort of fashion he is super sensitive and gets emotional and mad at you. Apparently it isn't "bar etiquette" to hold your card out at the bar? (Go to any other bar in Oxford and it's normal). I wish I could give a separate review for the food though. Very good!!! It's a casual atmosphere with a full bar. I ordered the cheesesteak, and it was really good. The bread consistency was perfect, just soft enough. The amount of shaved steak and cheese was perfect for the bun size, filled perfectly. My son ordered the Cuban. Oh my goodness, it was amazing. My son gave me a bite and it left me wanting more!! I came here while visiting campus and the environment was inviting. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was very good. I usually try Cubans and Shepherd's Pie whenever I see it on the menu and The Blind Pig's version was really good. (They didn't have Shepherd's Pie, I think.) This was possibly the worst service we have ever received in Oxford. The place was not busy at all. We sat at the bar and had to ask for service. I also asked for a menu and was curtly told that they were on the TV screen. I walked to see the menu and returned to my seat. We were NEVER approached or addressed again asking if we wanted to order. One would think if you asked about a menu that probably you wanted to order food. I would give this establishment 6 stars if possible. I highly recommend this place for lunch, NOT DINNER. Too many Libtards and hipsters hang out her after dark. Man. This place has been here FOREVER. I went a few weeks ago on a Sunday after an Ole Miss home game and everywhere was NUTS. This place wasn't any exception as they were elbows to a**holes too. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super attentive. That said, it could sometimes be slow because it's all counter service too. It's a 'typical' college bar and grill but in a great way. One of our go to places for real good comfort food. So far our favorite is the French dip sandwich. The bread is hot and soft with lots of roast beef and cheese. Their salads are very good too. Their burgers are also very good. We took an out of town relative who ordered the Ruben sandwich and he said it was the best one he'd ever eaten. And he was in his 70's. read more

Favorite casual bar in Oxford. Mostly college graduates, older people, and families that eat here. Great fries and sandwiches and they make their drinks strong. Always amazing service. I've been here before while visiting my son at Ole Miss so decided to come back. I like the bar and atmospher, Blind Pig Pale Ale was tasty. Very disappointed in the Philly Cheesesteak though. I asked for sautéed onions on it and when it came I couldn't see any or find any. Went back to bartender to ask for onions which he acknowledged I ordered and sent it back to the kitchen. He brought it back to me to point out that he found a sliver of caramelized onion hidden in the overcooked crispy beef. If you can't see them on a cheese steak then there isn't enough. I just asked politely to get me some onions like I ordered. A bit overpriced for the size and quality of the sandwhich. Fries, beer and atmosphere was good though. read more

I use to LOVE Blind Pig for food or just for cocktails. Not now. The staff is lazy, mildly rude and the food is sub par. Also, I'm about 80% sure this is where I recently got sick from eating the Romain salad I ordered. But even if it wasn't it was still gross. We ordered take out before we left. The put my side salad into the same box as my hot sandwich. It was right next to the sandwich and with the dressing already on it. So not only was my salad wilted and warm but the sandwich was soggy and gross. They also did not put my other side I asked and paid for into the box. read more

The most convenient place to watch football at the square. Never gets too packed and food is good. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that on a home game weekend they have a VERY limited menu, and they are closed on Sunday's which is tough for NFL football fans. Oxford's "Hipster Bar." Different vibe here than other places nearby. I don't typically go there at night to drink, but they do have a great draft beer selection, probably the best of all the Square bars, if that's what you're into. I go to the Pig to get their sandwiches, which are the best in Oxford. I have a hard time not getting a Cuban when I go there because it's so good, but I haven't been disappointed with any sandwich that I've tried. Oh and definitely try the potato salad as your side. I've bought quarts of it from them to take home. The BBQ pork nachos are also a solid choice. For me, it's a tie between them and Rebel Barn for the best nachos in Oxford. read more
