We met friends from Minnesota who were visiting Florida here for dinner. He is a vegetarian and she's a pescatarian and they are both kosher. This was their choice of restaurants. The restaurant is kosher. My husband and I shared a felafel platter. First off they bring a dish of pickled veggies to the table and a basket of fluffy pita -- even before you order. I really like the beet marinated turnips. Some of the "pickles" were a bit spicy for me but my husband liked them all. The felafel were wonderful. Perfectly cooked and still moist inside. You got to choose six salads from the "bar". We selected hummus, Israeli salad, babaganoush, beets, and a chunky eggplant. My favorites were the hummus and the eggplant. We were given extra pita as well. In addition, we got a side of beans and rice. The white beans were soft and flavorful as was the rice. My husband brought half home and had with his eggs the next day for breakfast (!). Our friends had a veggie platter and a salmon pita wrap. The veggie platter was their choices from the salad bar. The salmon was hot and freshly cooked and served as a sandwich with condiments added. They didn't have the knafeh (listed on the online menu) that my husband likes, but they did have bobka (cake) that looked great -- although we were too full to try it. Kosher food -- especially the meat dishes -- are exceedingly expensive now. Not being kosher, I had no clue, so some of the menu prices are a bit of a shock. However, if you stick to the appetizers and smaller dishes, and share, (portions are large) you will be okay price wise. I have a friend who lives near by and likes middle eastern food. Even though the place doesn't look great, you have to trust me this is one of the best options in the area. Not too cheap, and you do sure get a bang for your buck. I ordered a burger and I got (on the side) pita bread, pickles, dips, drinks, salads, plus the burger which was a great deal and great meal. This is the most absurdly terrible place on earth. Telling customers that they should "take a second to process what I just told you" is not ok, by any means. Perhaps you should "process" your business model. A customer for 17 years and I am gone forever, yea, that's exactly how you should treat people. The food is okay, the prices are high. I could give 3.5 stars if the prices were lower. The employees are nice and friendly but the restaurant is confusing. You can't really tell if you must sit down and order at the table or order over the counter and wait.. and when do you pay? It kind of looks like fast food restaurant (order over the counter) but the prices are as for the fanciest Mediterranean restaurant. One tiny pitta bread costs $10, laffa sandwich is $15 and a platter $18. We ordered laffa sandwich with falafels and chicken shawarma platter. I assumed you choose what you want to add to your platter but no, they just add selected things that you might not like, are too greasy or spicy. We also ordered fries that were too salty and oily (in my opinion) and their falafels were too mushy and soggy. I can't even describe the texture but it was something really strange (2 stars to those). Chicken shawarma was a bit too bland, missing salt, taste and flavours. Not one of the best for sure. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Levy's Shawarma. In fact, it was my favorite dining experience on my recent trip to South Florida. The prices were reasonable considering that you get to pick as many salads as you want in your shawarma pita. We all ordered pita or laffa sandwiches, and there were fresh warm pitas on the table, along with a few complimentary salads. I like that you don't have to ask for bread or water like at other places, they kept replenishing throughout the meal. This restaurant is located in the Aventura area. Food is fresh and made in front of you. It's not a high end restaurant but more of a comfy, hangout style place to grab food. Their shawarma / falafel / hummus, and baba ghanoush were very fresh. The waitress we had was very attentive and polite. I was walking on crutches to have their Shawarma and by their side door it was super greasy that I started sliding with crutches and feet barely finding the balance not to fall but unfortunately I stepped onto my bad foot that is after surgery and I'm not supposed to put weight on it. The zhug is hot and flavorful, as is every slaps they jam into that fluffy Israeli style pita. The owner is hilarious since he works the place and keeps it running. Don't get offended when he yells over to you to go pick your salad, it's part of the process. This is the Israeli falafel stand experience. Ordered on Uber eats.. called up to help give directions on what to put in the chicken plate as the app did not have options for the included sides .. the owner said he doesn't do Uber eats and slammed down the phone. Called back, and tried to talk through our order from Uber eats, he says he doesn't handle it and Uber eats places the order and he doesn't do Uber eats. He raised his voice and I asked why he is screaming at me, I am a customer and he said I have a packed house, and I said I understand but I placed an order and I'm a customer and you are being rude and he said I don't do Uber eats. I said we give you a lot of business and we get a lot of food from you, well never come back, his reply : please, Please do me a favor and promise me you'll never come back. Shortly after, he cancelled our order after the driver was already on the way, funny for someone who "doesn't do Uber eats". I have never been so disrespected by a business owner or anyone for that matter and I think everyone should think twice before giving business to this restaurant. If this review was based on the food alone I might have given Levy's Shawarma four stars. Unfortunately, Levy's Shawarma has all the charm of an Israeli restaurant with Israeli service. And I don't mean that in a good way. The waitresses were impatient and did a poor job explaining differences between different items on the menu (like the difference between the pita, laffa, plate and dinner options (this also could be solved by a better written menu). Maybe if they had done a better job explaining how they serve the food at this particular restaurant, I would not have been yelled at by the man serving the sides. Based on his attitude, you would think that I was in a prison and I was holding up the food line when he had 400 other prisoners to feed. It was really unprofessional. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good with the exception of the Shawarma. I found this chicken and lamb mixture to be both dry and seemingly devoid of lamb. I did meet the owner later and he was really nice but either he doesn't know how his restaurant is being run or he doesn't really care (or know any better). I guess if you're looking for decent kosher Middle Eastern food and nothing else you're at the right place. But if you're looking for a decent dining experience try somewhere else. read more

Great place for your israeli / deli cravings. The menu and the service is outstanding, everything is fresh, tasty and served with a smile. The shawarma is served piled high on a platter or pita with the most amazing unlimited sides and salads. The deli sandwiches are the best you can have this side of NYC... We were 10 on our table and each one was enjoying his meal with no complaints. Grilled chicken, hamburgers, amazing vegetarian options came and went with joy. The icing of the cake was when the owner came to our table with a gift of turkish coffee and babka for everyone and sat with us....
