Last year I ate at the Motek in Coral Gables and was very impressed with the taste and quality of the food. I was interested in trying their other quick serve version. I ordered the Chicken Shwarma with Turkish rice. My daughter ordered the same thing with veggie quinoa. I don't usually eat this type of food but was in the mood for something different. It is worth noting Yalla Motek is mostly Kosher. The food is Kosher but they are open Saturdays and the process is not overseen by a Rabbi. Either way, I ate half my meal and brought home the other half. They give big portions. I really didn't care for the flavor of the meal overall. I could eat it but should have ordered something else. The food is high quality but it is not for me. The staff were very warm and hospitable. I did enjoy the Tahiti on the side. I will probably eat here again but would order something else. read more

We usually get our usuals in this food court but we decided to get something different this time around and saw Yalla Motek. We love Mediterranean food so we thought this would be a great option. The service was super fast and the menu was easy to look through. We ended up getting two chicken shawarma pitas to go. The food didn't take too long to be ready. We took the food to eat at home and it was a good size portion. We also got a side of waffle fries with their sauce on the side that was said to be spicy. The food here was't my favorite Mediterranean food but I've never really had this style street food before. They DRENCHED the sauce on it and I actually wasn't too sure what it was made out of but it wasn't my favorite flavor. I didn't get to finish everything and I saved the other half of my pita for later. Since the sauce was covered all over it, it didn't save too well so I ended up not eating the rest. The waffle fries were spiced and good. I'm glad I got to try the white sauce on the side because it also wasn't my favorite but it was pretty good. My biggest note would be to maybe ask for the sauces on the side. I might still try to get something else from here next visit to the mall. read more

I HATE to do this review but wow, this has to be the worst meal I've ever had and it pains me to say this because I've eaten here before. It was so bad I couldn't even eat most of it and had to throw it away I ordered the crispy eggplant wrap. I really enjoyed my lunch. Everything was delicious! My mom suggested we try the crispy eggplant and it was an excellent choice. You do not miss the meat. The crispy eggplant is perfectly crisp and tasty with the fresh vegetables and hard boiled egg with some hummus plus a yellow sauce (not sure of the name). I love the food at both Motech and Yalla. Today I went to place a quick order at Yalla. I cannot remember the last time I was treated so rudely by a worker in a restaurant. It was very tasty. We waited about 30 minutes for our food, though, which is weird when it's coming from a food court. By the time it came out, the pita was very soggy. However, it was tasty. The fries were pretty delicious. My mom got the lamb shwarma. She wasn't impressed, as it was also soggy and the pita fell apart. For her it was disappointing, especially when it costs $16, which is pretty steep at a mall food court. Food was excellent. I got the lamb shawarma rice bowl and the lamb was shredded and seasoned excellently. The taste of the rice was fantastic, and the humus was creamy and had great olive oil. I would recommend getting the spicy green sauce which had a ton of flavor. The salad pairing with the bowl was light and excellent. I would recommend getting the lafa/pita on the side. Chicken shawarma was good also, but I preferred the lamb. I liked this option better than the others, so far (I haven't tried all the food court options yet). Price was on the higher side, but you're going to spend money on a meal anywhere there unless you do chipotle. The falafel was the best I've ever had !! Cooked to perfection with a light crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I'm not usually a huge cabbage fan, but it was dressed well, softened and wow .. incredible ! I guess I'm now a cabbage fan. The hummus in my bowl was so smooth, fresh, and flavorful. Both the chicken shawarma and the crispy chicken are incredible. Hummus is the best tasting hummus I think I've ever had, with a perfectly creamy texture.
