I had a sudden onset of severe jaw pain that lasted a week with no improvement. Two oral surgeons were recommended by a local dentist. The first one did not have an opening for about 10 weeks. The second surgeon was Dr. Carey who was able to see me within one day of contacting him. He, his staff, and the entire office experience inspired confidence. After his very thorough exam he showed me the x-ray, explained what the problem was, and the treatment he could provide. He did not press like a salesman, just waited for me to process the information and tell him how I would like him to proceed. The next day he performed the surgery which had some above average challenges. Every aspect of my encounter with Dr. Carey and his staff was first class. I have been coming to this practice for over 20 years, since i was a child. The staff is always…read morenice, but there has recently been a noticeable decline in the quality of care received. In the last year, two routine procedures have gone wrong, each requiring additional appointments for corrections. My visits also feel consistently rushed, and more often than not I leave with a feeling that something isn't right, only to confirm later that my original issue wasn't resolved, or that a new one has developed. I don't know whether this reflects a staffing shortage, an increased patient load, or something else entirely. But the experience no longer reflects the standard of care I came to trust. At this point, my trust in this practice as a patient has been significantly damaged.
