I have to admit that I was skeptical coming here but I was happily surprised! That BLT was crazy good, when I ordered it the waitress had told me that they don't use regular bread, they use pizza dough bread. I thought maybe they would've just made two pieces of thin bread or something but they made an insanely good pocket out of the pizza dough and stuffed the Ingredients inside. They used this herb mayonnaise in the sandwich that blended so well with the toasted bread. Our waitress was also super on top of it with coming to our table and helping us with what we needed, drinks, questions. Everything!! Stopped on our trip to Corpus. What a lovely surprise. The bacon wrapped shrimp was divine-som e of the best I've tasted. The Wagyu burgers are spot-on. We ate on the patio and the view was serene. The service was good. The cooking time was long, especially since it was not busy. Don't go if you're in a hurry. If you have time it's worth the the wait. read more

Service is usually always good, especially in the bar. However, whoever the head cook is, he needs to go. I've seen him berate the staff in front of God and everyone and the quality of the food and what is available is not consistent. The owners may need to re-evaluate their goals for the restaurant. Last few times I've been, there's been hardly anyone there. I've heard different rumors about the owners and this head cook. I wouldn't let my kid work there and I'm no longer spending my money at this place. read more

Food is good during the day but not for dinner. Salmon is good but consider eating something else unless you want to get sick. The pasta is the not the best. Stick to the Chicken Fried Chicken or the Fried Steak. Macaroni is really good!! Pizza is good too. read more

They tore down the old country club and built a new one. And it's nice, with a great view of the course from restaurant and bar. There menu hasn't changed as far as I know. They had a chef at first and he trained His line to cook the way he wanted it and the food was really good, but then the chef left and the line guys were trained to cook that food and that's what they do as far as I know. What a surprise. Tucked into tiny Pleasanton, TX sits a bar and grill worthy of being found anywhere on the "Best 100 public courses you can play" list. I enjoyed a neat Don Julio reposado while waiting what seemed like longer than normal for lunch. That said - what a lunch. The wagyu was cared for as well to the plate as it presumably was on the hoof. Perfectly medium rare, thinly charred edge and a barely warm red center. Fries crisped golden brown with just enough salt to order a glass of iced tea. Staff was friendly, never hovered, and promptly attended to the room. Thank you team Lew's! Happy 2021. read more

(I am honored to be Lew's second ever review, and they will not regret it!) When you're looking for lunch in Pleasanton, you've got to get in early before the rush and get out quick before your bill multiplies. The prices and food in town are crazy since business is booming down there, but no one can complain about a small town making big money! It's rare that I get to make it in to Pleasanton for lunch with my fiancé and his workmates, maybe twice a year at most, and I'd been waiting the whole first half of this year to visit Lew's. Now I can't wait to go back! Might have to make that semi-annual trip a quarterly one instead. My fiancé has tried a couple menu items and said he's never been disappointed. My eyes were drawn straight to the Crab Stuffed Tilapia, so I divulged, and he ordered the Blackened Tilapia. My dish was fantastic! Amazing! Delicious! Spectacular! I just can't find the right superlative to describe it. The fish was perfectly cooked, not dry but moist and tender. The crab was a perfect stuffing. The spinach in lemon butter sauce underneath also perfect. The only problem with this whole lunch was that I couldn't get my daughter to stay in her high chair long enough for me to eat every single drop on my plate! Fortunately, the gorgeous golf course patio backdrop was a great place for her to run around and work off some energy. The server even obliged her by requesting the kitchen cut up some sliced avocado for a little hands lunch. All of the service, including front desk and wait staff, seemed friendly and attentive. Our server checked on us several times and stopped to make sure the food had all come out well. The restaurant is also family friendly with highchairs, changing tables, impeccably clean restrooms and an outdoor eating space with a great view. Not only would I drive a across town if I lived there, I'd drive all the way from San Antonio! (Or maybe ask if they do take-out and the fiancé can just bring it on home!) 5 stars= Driving across town just for this! 4 stars= I would recommend visiting. 3 stars= Average, acceptable, positive. 2 stars= You might be able to drag me in. 1 star= I will definitely not be returning. read more

This place is great! We love going there for their chips and cheese, pizza, chicken poblano, and my personal favorite, bread pudding. Hit and miss with the waitstaff. Sometimes they forget to give us refills so we have to flag them down or a manager will come by and do the job for them, but I understand they can get busy at times. Love watching the kitchen staff make the food and call out orders. We almost didn't go back after the first time there when they put in a ticket for a table of 20 right before our table of 2 so we waited an hour for our food to arrive, but they gave us free bread for the wait which made it okay. read more

So, I have only been here a handful of times and it has always been decent. Today I had lunch with a friend and it was not good. It took almost an hour to receive our food and the food was not fresh at all. My friends stuffed tilapia(which she orders there regularly) was dry and rubbery with little to no stuffing and the bed of spinach it was served on was wilted and lacking in flavor. The servers apologized and advised us that they were short on cooking staff which we can understand however others that ordered way after us were receiving their food about the same time we did. The manager, Marie sort of apologized for the fish being horrible and said she'd take care of it. However her idea of taking care of it was comping $3 off of the plate that no one ate‍So she is basically telling us to pay about $18 for a glass of tea and keep in mind my friends 1 hour lunch break is now over an hour late, so it's costing her more money. It was ridiculous. Yes we understand things happen and cooks and servers are allowed to make mistakes at times but that's when management needs to step in and make sure the customer is taken care of, our servers can only do so much. In this situation management didn't seem to care, whatever the reasoning and yes we may only be 2 people but we will never be back for lunch there again nor will we take our families there. Not to say this isn't a great place to eat at, this could be an exception to many great experiences but there should definitely be some changes in the management or additional training. Lew's is one of our go-to places in Pleasanton for good food. It is easily the best restaurant in the area. Think of Lew's as the Ledecky of Pleasanton restaurants- other options are good, but Lew's flies past them in terms of both service and quality. Some of our favorites are the Crab-stuffed tilapia ($16), the chicken sarah (it's grilled chicken with goat cheese on top of fetuccini alfredo, $13), and their pizzas. We've also like the queso- pretty good- maybe a bit on the bland side if you like things spicy. Usually I don't like fetuccini alfredo as it just seems flavorless and boring. But I cannot get enough of it at Lew's so they're clearly doing something right. Last, I cannot recommend the mango mojito enough. And their desserts (if you still have room) are spot on. read more

Where's the bread? I'll start by saying it was a Friday evening and the place was decently busy and appropriately staffed. We did not have to wait for a table, our waitress or our drinks. This was AWESOME since all 6 of us were really hungry and ready to eat. Off to a great start. I got the Jalepeño Texas Shrimp Pasta. Something about the description and the odd combination of ingredients really hooked my interest. Well worth it. A really good dinner. Plenty of large shrimp and the beer based sauce was interesting and different in a very good way. My wife ordered the three meat pizza. Great flavor, served with crushed red pepper and parmesan shakers. It was good but not great. It was a thin crust but a little soggy. Needed a bit more time to crisp up a bit. My only issue..... where was the bread? High end, country club style dining and no basket of bread? What was I supposed to do with my leftover sauce? Luckily, we asked the manager and bread is available upon request so she brought us some. Make sure you ask for it. Enjoy! read more

If I could give a zero stars, I would. DIL birthday dinner. Server was great, but kitchen and manager were duds. Cover of 7. Ordered salsa with chips, but they were out. One order came out 15 minutes after rest of entrees, with cold potatoes. No avocado in the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail, but lots of lettuce. Asked about avocado and were told they have been out for weeks. Side orders of baked potato and side salad came at end of meal. One steak undercooked. Had to ask for condiments for burger and baked potatoes, and was charged extra for pepperoni on a pepperoni pizza. Asked to speak to manager and she came out 10 minutes later, looking like she just woke up. Listened, said she would look into it, and then we could see her chewing out server. Never saw her again. Never came back to check and see how we were doing. And we weren't the only table with issues. Two other tables were complaining. A cover of 7 who will never go back. This was on 2/27/21. And when we came in our reservation was not ready, but we were the only folks in the main dining area. read more
