We made a reservation for a party of 6 plus a baby on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived and were seated on the patio. The patio is surrounded by plants and the umbrellas kept things shaded nicely. We ordered 4 appetizers: calamari, falafel, spinach borek, and kibbeh. The calamari was good, maybe slightly over cooked. My younger daughter raved over the falafel, said the best she has ever had. The kibbeh was delicious. The spinach borek though....oh my goodness, if you only choose 1 appetizer, this is the one. Spinach and cheese wrapped in phyllo pastry, creamy, crunchy, delicious! I ordered baked eggplant which was roasted and stuffed with lamb and ground beef and covered in a tomato sauce. It was served with rice and was very filling and satisfying. I enjoyed every bite and brought home leftovers. My Mamma and daughter ordered stuffed cabbage rolls which were stuffed with lamb and beef. I tried a bite and decided that's what I will order next time we go. My husband ordered doner kebab, which is like gyro meat. He said it was very good, but slightly dry. Daughter #1 ordered shrimp casserole with big pieces of shrimp in a spinach cream sauce, served with rice. I am sorry to say, she did not bring home leftovers because she ate every bite! We all ate the fresh bread and pita bread that was put on the table. All the food was very fresh. For dessert we shared 2 orders of baklava which was tasty and worth ordering. We all agreed it wasn't quite as good as the baklava we get at the local Greek Festival, but don't let that stop you from trying it, it ranks up there with really good baklava! Our waitress was very sweet, even getting down to our grandbaby's level to speak to him, although he played shy and hid his face. The pace of the meal was very relaxed, we were there for a bit over 2 hours. DO NOT go if you are in a hurry, take time to enjoy the food and the company you are with and the service. Really great food. I had the okra and lamb stew. It was amazing. The hummus was good and the falafel was the beat I've ever had. My mother got the shrimp casserole and she loved it. It was also so generously portioned she had to take some home. My brother had something with gyro meat and he scarfed it all down even though it too was a generous portion. The staff wore masks and there was outdoor seating and social distancing. I like Mediterranean food and there were items I wasn't familiar with. There are several vegetarian and seafood selections. Have you ever been to a place where the appetizers are so good you are completely full before the food comes? This is Leyla. But a word of caution. If you do not have the main course, you are missing out. I had the eggplant appetizer and the bread that came with the meal with sun dried tomatoe and spices was to die for. I had the combo meal for 1 which had chicken and lamb. It was buttery seasoned to perfection, and abundant. I had to take a box but I did not want to stop eating. Service was fast and pleasant even though on a skeleton at staff, during Covid. I am saddened that it took me so long to try this place, but elated that I found it. What a pretty name for a restaurant, first of all... "Leyla, Leyla". Yes, It's beautiful. And it fits well for the place! Leyla is a smaller restaurant located right next to Carabbas in the Anderson Towncenter. They were not busy on this Friday at noon, so were able to seat us right away. This was definitely a plus, but I hope that here soon they are bringing in plenty of business that makes them stand out! Leyla serves some pretty tasty authentic Mediterranean food (if I can qualify to say that)! The falafel lunch was on point, with three good sized falafels, a mix of fresh vegetables in an oil, and freshly made hummus. Yum! The woman helping us here was very kind and able to inform me that there was no dairy in the meal I was choosing to eat. Yay! The paintings in here fits it well, and they have a small bookshelf which seemed to have books on the topic of the Mediterranean area. This restaurant and the people that run it are hands down the best in the city. You can tell how much they care about the food they cook and the people they serve it to. If you're in a rush, call ahead and they will get it ready for you. If you're new, try the mixed grill plate and some zucchini pancakes, then explore the menu next time you come back. An excellent meal with very generous portions. I was extremely impressed with the complimentary bread & dipping sauce. The zucchini pancakes were more than delicious. When I saw them on the menu, I was hoping they were at least as good as something I've eaten at my favorite Greek restaurant in Queens, NY. These were even better! I had the chicken kabob and the meat was moist & seasoned very well. It was so enjoyable to speak with the owner of the restaurant. We went to Leyla's today for lunch and both had the Greek salad with lamb. The salads were enormous, we brought home enough for another lunch. The lamb was mildly spiced and delicious. The outdoor patio was beautifully decorated with living plants and even some feathered friends by the fountain. I do not know her name, but our hostess was warm and welcoming. While visiting friends that live nearby, I was asked to meet some family for lunch. They were driving in from a decent distance, so I didn't want to go way out of the way for our meal as well. I checked my Yelp and saw great reviews for Leyla's. We were in NO way disappointed for sure! The food was fresh and full of flavor. While there was a minor wait due to the meal being prepared to order, it was in no way unreasonable and the staff was very attentive during this time. The fresh bread with dipping sauce was an unexpected and refreshing treat before our meal. While generally not a bread eater, I did try it and it was quite tasty. We also opted to try different things and ordered up a falafel appetizer as well which was nice. Personally I had the baked eggplant which was fresh with a great topping of seasoned meat and sauce. I only wish I had room to eat it all, because it's one of the most comforting dishes I've had in awhile. One of my lunchmates had the CHicken Pide which looked amazing, but I'd reached my bread limit for the day and didn't taste. He complimented it highly, though. My other companion had the beef sautee special and it was so full of flavor. While I can't make this a regular trip as I was only in Anderson visiting, it will definitely be on my list of places to go for all future visits. read more

Great addition to Anderson Township! So excited that the best Mediterranean in the city is now just steps away from my house. We started our meal with the Appetizer Medley which comes with Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Acili Ezme, Lebne, and Stuffed Grape Leaves and it was SO GOOD. Even if you don't get the appetizers (which you're missing out if you don't!) they give you delicious homemade bread with a divine sun dried tomato dipping sauce for FREE. I loved their falafel, chicken kebobs while the rest of our table really enjoyed their eggplant, lamb kebobs and a roasted lamb special. We were so full that we couldn't eat dessert but we definitely want to try the baklava next time we are in. This is definitely one of our new go to spots for take out or eating out before a movie. I intended to take pictures of my food once it was served but once each course came I completely forgot and dug in! Hummus and baba ghanoush were served with fresh bread. We ordered the Sheperds and Greek salads. Both were ample portions. If you get meat added on its a much bigger portion. We split the Lahmacun (pizza with lamb). The flatbread was cooked perfectly with the right amount of crunch. For dessert we ordered the Turkish coffee, Turkish tea and baklava. Absolutely fabulous! The only downside is the location. If you sit near the front you really feel the cold when the door opens. Less than 70 dollars for 2 with an appetizer, and 2 glasses of wine each. And wow the appetizer....we had the spinach borek I believe is how it's spelled. So delicious! The feta was just amazing so full of flavor and sharp like feta should be. Flaky and crisp phyllo dough, perfect amount for 2. The bread.....they bring complementary loaf with an olive oil and sun dried tomatoes dip that is perfectly savory and sweet. Every single bite perfectly seasoned. Our waitress whom I think may be an owner or relative was very kind, polite, perfectly timed the delivery of every item, even though they were so busy when we arrived the only remaining seating was patio, she perfectly choreographed every items arrival.shook our hands and introduced herself to us as well, making us feel so incredibly welcomed. The most fitting finish to our meal was a piece of baklava, warm, light, fresh!! Drenched in crushed pistachios and honey syrup. Literal perfection. I sincerely cannot wait to go back. A rare find! One of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the Cincinnati area. Went there for lunch on Christmas Day. The place looks cozy and expensive but everything was priced right. They served us some homemade bread and sauce before the food. It was fresh and refreshing. We tried Cold Appetizer for 2 (hummus, baba ghanoush etc) with the bread. Not the best spread I had but it was good. I ordered Chicken Adana Kebab for my main course. This was a game changer. The Kebab was succulent and spiced perfectly. It comes with rice and salad. The meat was extremely tender. Absolutely loved it. We ended our meal with a Turkish tea which was refreshing. They offered us complimentary baklava, which I thought was nice. Leyla opened in a restaurant space next to Macy's on Beechmont that has a history of selling culturally diverse foods and going out of business. For whatever reason, the restaurants in the space seem to last one or two years. Part of the problem is the thin, small space itself. It feels more like a take out place with seating. It's more than this, cleaner and more interesting than a typical, say, Chinese take out, but lacks the comfortable setting one expects in a sit down restaurant. The service is excellent; prompt, attentive, friendly. The food, a kind of Turkish variant, focusing on kabobs, is very good. Entrees are mostly pieces of marinated lamb, beef, or chicken, with a small serving of rice and a simple balsamic salad on the plate. I found the prices to be a bit on the high side, but not expensive. I would go back, but I will be surprised if the somewhat limited menu, and a menu that is Turkish, finds an audience in middle class Anderson Township. That said, it was popular on the Friday night I was there. There are two tables on either side of the entrance door. Don't allow yourself to be seated there unless you want to feel like a snowman, as we did. read more

Had the most wonderful date night with my fiance here. The food was so great, and the service was just wow! We were treated like family.
